The dragon are the red dragon (fire), Thordak, white dragon (ice), Vorugal, green dragon (poison), Raishan, and black dragon (acid), Umbrasyl.
Osysa roasting Vox Machina is one of my favourite parts of this episode... Especially Scanlan "No one cares about you... I no different"! 😳 Damn Girl, that was Brutal!!!
There was a wonderful D&D homebrewer who created the Combat Wheelchair as a free to download mechanic, and Matt almost immediately put an NPC in game. Nice to see it make an appearance here too.
the voice of Victor the Black Powder dealer is just Matt Mercer. He was made up on the spot when Percy needed to replenish his stock, and Matt tried to figure out just who might be using black powder in this setting, and came up with a rather eccentric old man. if you take a look at videos showing the parallel, I think you'll be entertained.
Vestiges of Divergence - as Osysa explained, these are the remnants of the War between the Gods, used by mortals in the fight. They are from centuries ago and seem to have been lost to time. There are more than 7 in game, but we probably won't see beyond that number in game (or possibly 8, which is what we saw in the campaign)
I've noticed when I edit I catch a lot more than when I'm initially watching, I'll have to pay closer attention.

Zahara is a Tiefling. Tieflings are humanoid with the traits of the infernal. They have demonic traits. They happen when an ancestor has made some sort of pact with a demonic force in the past. It is an extra stake to consider when making a pact. You could be cursing a future descendant some time down the line. The movie Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, which is quite good, has a tiefling as one of the main characters. Doric the Druid is a tiefling. (Consider reacting to that movie if you like the DnD stuff 😃). Zahara and Kash show up again.
That is why Critters greet each other with “Bidet!” instead of “Hello”

As for dragons talking. for something that can use magic and live Wyrmling (5 years or less) Young (6-100 years) Adult (101-800 years) Ancient (801 years or more) or even polymorph in to humans. i think they can pick up a langage or two. note some dragons rule over people and monsters some like to read ect... As becouse is dnd it make it alot more easy to have storys, interactions ect with the dragons.
The Vestiges of Divergence are legendary items of war created during The Calamity. They touch the soul of their wielder and grow in power as their wielder gains strength, experience, and personal growth, and the item progresses through three states of magical power: dormant, awakened, and exalted. A Vestige in its exalted state is at the height of its power, but it can revert back through these states again if it does not have a worthy bearer for a long period of time
note i will always say watch the broadcast b4 or after its really a good season of crit role.

With Scanlan he just learned he has a child just 1 ep b4 this so alots on his mind.
as for who cantrolling the dragons its the red dragon.
Thordak was approached by Raishan. The ancient green dragon had been cursed by a druid and was slowly dying of a horrific disease. Thordak claimed to know of a cure. so Raishan fallow him.
Although white dragons are remarkably bestial, they are as intelligent as other chromatic dragons. They care little for intricate schemes or political power, preferring to live their lives as hunters and collectors of treasure. They rely more on instinct than on intellect.
Black dragons collect the wreckage and treasures of fallen peoples. These dragons loathe seeing the weak prosper and revel in the collapse of humanoid kingdoms. They make their homes in fetid swamps and crumbling ruins where kingdoms once stood.
Uhhhh Scanlan doesn’t know that in episode two of the animated series! Spoiler. You should move that line to the bottom too. Or delete because he absolutely did not know that.
