    Fun facts - that's Travis Willingham chanting 'rage' during the fight song. Grog had 20 hp when Vex pulled the mors ab alto, and the Herd of Storms wasn't going to stop even if he dropped to 0 hp. Also, he took about 20 fall damage, which is why Pike said that he needs to work on his landing. If anyone but Grog had killed Kevdak, the Herd of Storms wouldn't have stopped fighting.

    • @isaiahwelch8066
      @isaiahwelch8066 8 месяцев назад

      Actually, he was at 4 HP, not 1. How do I know this?
      Because if you rewatch the episode from the campaign, Grog takes 25 damage from falling. Then Travis says, "That puts me Unconscious, and 21 points under."
      Which means he had 4 HP when Vex Poke-balled him for the drop attack.
      Edit: I just checked and confirmed: Grog took 25 fall damage, and ended up at -21 HP.
      The episode is C1 E52, at roughly 2:30:10 into the episode.

    • @leonielson7138
      @leonielson7138 8 месяцев назад

      @@isaiahwelch8066 Thank you for the correction.
      It was either a Vox Talkina episode or the Campaign 1 wrap-up, where the cast was asking Matt questions, and he explained that if anyone other than Grog had killed Kevdak the Herd of Storms would have kept fighting, refusing to accept an outsider as their new leader. However, Grog was known to them, so when he killed Kevdak, becoming their leader, they were by tradition obligated to listen to him.

    Vox Machina. FUCK. SHIT. UUUUUUUP!!!!
    There are a lot of iconic lines in Critical Role, few of them encompass an entire campaign as much as that one. It's a battle cry, it's a statement of fact, it's a warning, it's a inspirational speech, it's a cry for help, it's an affirmation of friendship.
    I love all the Pike and Grog interactions. Their friendship is just so pure. They just... they love each other so much and so intensely and I love that the show is really letting that shine.
    Also, being a massive Perc'ahlia shipper, loved all the little nods in the fight scene to the two of them having each other's backs as the ranged fighters of the team. Even Vex bamfing Trinket out right by Percy, totally just because that was on the way and not at all to give him a little extra protection.
    And Kiki actually took some initiative and didn't trip over her words asking Vax to dance. Poor Kiki.
    Looking forward to the next two reactions.

Kevdak is every bit as intimidating as he needed to be, and I LOVE that the victory was by the barest margin (iirc in the game Grog's HP was down so low that the fall damage at the end might have killed him, it was an absolute Hail Mary move, it was either going to work or he was DONE, and they managed to capture that.)

    Quite simply the best episode of the series so far. Loved that we got to see Vox Machina fuck shit up properly and kick some ass. What a show!

    Best reaction to this episode ever, as i expected. Better than all of the other reactors that I follow. The only thing we need now is J20 to do compilations of this series.

    I still can't get over them actually animating Grog getting impaled on the spikes. Also Adam marking out for the entire fight was amazing, they did such a fantastic job on the episode.

    Honestly, this was my absolute favorite episode. Probably because it was the part I most looked forward to, but it was fricking perfect. It was already one of my favorite moments because of the way Travis acted in the campaign, completely badass like never before, and I feel like every scene and line was adapted perfectly for this fight.

    Kevdak would've stuck around...but he had to split.

    Killbox was easily the most epic combat segment in critical roles first campaign. Hours long combat ended by that beautiful finishing move pulled off by dropping grog on him.

    Maybe the real strength was the friends we met along the way 🥹

    ...Yeah, figured he'd Hulk when he figured it out. A bit literal compared to the original version. Grog's call, the medallion trick and the final blow happened exactly like the stream. The Kaylie thing... also happened mostly the same.
