Sam Riegel didn't have to go as absurdly hard as he has for the songs this season, but he did it anyway. What a bard.

Seeing this episode made me really excited to see C2x86 animated. Like, Vox Machina is definitely the more combat oriented campaign, but Mighty Nein has some gems in its own right.
This is my favorite episode of the entire series so far, out of both seasons. Absolutely incredible recreation of arguably the best moments of all of campaign 1. The shot of Percy on the roof with the fire behind him is one of the rawest animated shots I’ve ever seen. HUGE ups to titmouse for this one.
Adam, at 13:05 when Jay said as the Matron of Ravens “I’d like to speak to your manager.”, you had the PERFECT opportunity to reply as Vax, “You ARE my manager!”
One of the best moments of Campaign 1 is Laura/Vex sending Travis/Grog out of the poke ball mid air, and him rolling a Nat 20 on the final attack. You couldn't script something better.
Let us not forget the fact Grog had 1 HP left when he was scooped up, rolled that nat 20 on the fall attack, murdered Kevdak, and the immediately died from fall damage. Utterly ridiculous and epic and Titmouse has done us major justice.
Vox Machina. FUCK. SHIT. UUUUUUUP!!!! There are a lot of iconic lines in Critical Role, few of them encompass an entire campaign as much as that one. It's a battle cry, it's a statement of fact, it's a warning, it's a inspirational speech, it's a cry for help, it's an affirmation of friendship. I love all the Pike and Grog interactions. Their friendship is just so pure. They just... they love each other so much and so intensely and I love that the show is really letting that shine. Also, being a massive Perc'ahlia shipper, loved all the little nods in the fight scene to the two of them having each other's backs as the ranged fighters of the team. Even Vex bamfing Trinket out right by Percy, totally just because that was on the way and not at all to give him a little extra protection. And Kiki actually took some initiative and didn't trip over her words asking Vax to dance. Poor Kiki. Looking forward to the next two reactions.
The full team fight scene in this episode is the best action I’ve seen in a while, absolutely loved it and how much of a badass the entire team was throughout it!
Fun facts - that's Travis Willingham chanting 'rage' during the fight song. Grog had 20 hp when Vex pulled the mors ab alto, and the Herd of Storms wasn't going to stop even if he dropped to 0 hp. Also, he took about 20 fall damage, which is why Pike said that he needs to work on his landing. If anyone but Grog had killed Kevdak, the Herd of Storms wouldn't have stopped fighting.
Actually, he was at 4 HP, not 1. How do I know this? Because if you rewatch the episode from the campaign, Grog takes 25 damage from falling. Then Travis says, "That puts me Unconscious, and 21 points under." Which means he had 4 HP when Vex Poke-balled him for the drop attack. Edit: I just checked and confirmed: Grog took 25 fall damage, and ended up at -21 HP. The episode is C1 E52, at roughly 2:30:10 into the episode.
@@isaiahwelch8066 Thank you for the correction. It was either a Vox Talkina episode or the Campaign 1 wrap-up, where the cast was asking Matt questions, and he explained that if anyone other than Grog had killed Kevdak the Herd of Storms would have kept fighting, refusing to accept an outsider as their new leader. However, Grog was known to them, so when he killed Kevdak, becoming their leader, they were by tradition obligated to listen to him.
Okay I know I'm extremely biased, but this is one of the most fantastic episodes of television I've seen in quite some time. The studio went NUUUUUUTS on this and I couldn't have asked for more.
Adam's reaction to Grog's impalement was exactly mine! Also, his over-the-top delight at Percy's awesomeness in the fight was a joy to behold. Great reaction video, guys!
That fight was both fun and rough to watch during the campaign, because it definitely shifted several times between "we're badasses" to "we're getting our asses kicked." But when Vex put Grog in the gem...he was down to like 2 HP but Matt was so shocked, and then the drop down attack was a crit, even though Grog went unconscious because of it. So good. But that VM attack montage was just...*chef kiss*
The emotional high I got during the Kevdak was so powerful that it got me through my day of work. It was everything I had hoped for and more, bless everyone who worked on this episode and giving 200% to give us this episode.
This episode made me SO HAPPY! They freaking NAILED this epic moment so hard! I had tears streaming down my face the whole time. lol The team coming together to support one of their own in an epic showdown just hits me right in the feels. Loved it!
One of the best Natural 20s of the campaign, Travis’s (Grog) Nat 20 against Kevdak than Laura’s (Vex) pokeball with Grog free falling to split that fucker in two!!! As Laim screamed in that moment, “POETIC JUSTICE”!
Killbox was easily the most epic combat segment in critical roles first campaign. Hours long combat ended by that beautiful finishing move pulled off by dropping grog on him.
"He's like five of you right now" XD XD XD One of the best Nat 20s of all the campaigns!!! I remember Travis rolling a Nat 1 and Nat 20 on this- thank the Gods for Recklass Attack! That episode was so metal, calling on your friends to "F*ck shit up" was amazing and the music, I wanted to join in. And always dance with the pretty lady especially if she asks you.
I had so much hype reading “The KillBox” on Friday. The original episode was a 3 and a half hour SLUGFEST. They did it so, so much justice with this adaptation. Absolutely loved it.
Sometimes you play D&D and you want to crack jokes with your friends. Sometimes you want to explore the plot the DM has planned. Sometimes you want to improvise some dramatic scenes with other players. But sometimes (frankly most of the time) you want your character to look badass while doing badass shit. This episode really gets across what it feels like when your party is firing on all cylinders in combat.

Speaking of a lot of people dying fighting this dragon, Matthew Mercer said in their watchthrough of episode 1 of this season that 75,000 people died in the assault on Iman. He had figured it out based on the original population of the city in the game and what was left afterward.
Honestly, this was my absolute favorite episode. Probably because it was the part I most looked forward to, but it was fricking perfect. It was already one of my favorite moments because of the way Travis acted in the campaign, completely badass like never before, and I feel like every scene and line was adapted perfectly for this fight.

Rofl, how crazy when you said “I’m Terrence and I’m Jessica that just so happens to be my husband and my names 😂😂😂
It's insane how this show get better and better with each episode. The Game was this way, so I had hope, but this show is just so amazing. Can't wait for you to watch the next two.
Best reaction to this episode ever, as i expected. Better than all of the other reactors that I follow. The only thing we need now is J20 to do compilations of this series.
This one is getting: " 2 out of 1 Kevdak's " 😁
