I love Kill Zone so much. Combine it with weapon upgrades like an Auto-Loader for free reloads or Expanded Magazine for extra ammo so that you don't start your next term empty!
@@MegaNerevar thats why i wish the hunter rifle had expanded mag instead of autoloader... its a MUCH better upgrade and would make that rifle NOT hamper killzones.

Hi everyone who is randomly getting this recommended to them! To point out what most people are thinking: no I don't usually run 3 snipers or more lol. My main squad members were recovering from a pretty rough operation so I had to use my next 5 strongest for this mission and there happened to be 3 snipers that were way better than any of the other remaining units.
Fake or not, accuracy isn't typically this good. Overwatch incurs a 30% penalty to hit chance. Kill Zone is great, the problem with it is you trade a shot where you have a higher chance to actually hit for 1 shot per enemy in the zone with a lower chance to hit each.
Pro strat: 3 (or 2) killzone/long range built snipers, 2 (or 3) faceoff/pistol built "snipers" and a medic specialist (optional I suppose, putting aside your emotional connections and all to your fully leveled team). Now nothing is allowed to move, which lets your infinite ammo quickdrawers to get into a good spot, and fill the enemies with lead (or, plasma I suppose) almost about 3 to 5 shots each enemy, while the KillZone snipers wait for their nearly mandatory reposition.
@@allopic3764 Yeah, it pops up later down the extra skills tree if your soldier rolled for it. Give them the biggest extended mag you can and the best scope and they'll obliterate entire pods solo. Works especially great with shredder. Pair them with a killzone sniper for extra fun.
@@user-ck3bo8wd4p woah that’s actually an awesome idea, I usually run the equipment for guaranteed damage with missed shots since the cannon accuracy is lower on average. And also I almost never pick shredder, and always go for the extra armour, but your build sounds dope: when I start the game over I’ll have one of my grenadiers pick shredder (and also get the armor cuz, you know, you can in WOTC). Thanks for the tip!
@@allopic3764 @Mattia Cipolla No problem man! I used to do similar stuff but later found out you get much better results if you gear your troops for maximum alpha damage, that way pods don't get a chance to hit you back or not as many are left alive. WOTC luckily lets us make super soldiers. Experiment around with some of the skills you don't use often (like how i found out pistol skills are outstanding) and you'll be surprised!
@@user-ck3bo8wd4p yup, pistols are cool af. I still prefer the sniper options like killzone, but I always pick the first 3 gunslinger skills. If you’re low on ammo and you don’t have an auto magazine attachment, shooting 3 times with the pistol is always a good choice, and after unlocking the hunter’s pistol well… the results are usually devastating, and things can always improve with face off.
My favorite is when you have 2 kill zones and 4 other people on overwatch and they all miss a target like 12 steps away. I have the worst luck with kill zones.
Killzone is similar to overwatch but slightly different. Killzone lets you choose a cone to have a sniper watch. Any time an enemy *moves* in that zone, the sniper takes a shot at them. The fun part of this is Killzone snipers fire for every time the enemy moves from a position to another, so if an enemy moves from point A to B, attacks, then moves B to C, the sniper fires twice as long as the enemy is in the killzone. Killzone also lets a sniper attack until they need to reload
for me the power of killzone is wasting an entire mag cuz my soldiers rather hit the pretty little butterfly in 2km distance than the big angry alien charging at them
Is it just me or are snipers absolute dog doo doo in the early game. They don’t do that much damage are are much more likely to miss than anything else. I rarely every use them until I get scopes and/or tracer rounds.
Snipers, in both xcom EU/EW and XCOM2/WOTC are absolutely horrendous in the early game, but can be absolutely devastating in the late game. dont get me wrong rangers definitely have the most raw damage potential for a single target, but snipers can pretty routinely kill several enemies a turn. Imo gunslingers are pretty busted though, especially if you get some lucky breathroughs with +pistol damage and +mag/beam damage. Can be popping off 4-5 shots in a single turn doing 7+ dmg a shot which is pretty nuts.
@@jacobely6826 I find snipers very helpful against the lost because of their pistols but I usually just use them as mules to carry downed soldiers and key items in most other missions.
@@evilemperorzurg9615 i mean at that point you should probably just bring extra rangers or specialists. Snipers can be great but imo they aint worth their investment, i tend to just run more of the other classes. Especially in WOTC, i subsitute snipers for faction heroes
@@jacobely6826 A Sniper with Bluescreen can easily handle a Sectopod solo, they shine best when paired with some explosive users. Explosive force damage, removes cover, often puts them in a good spot to use their pistol or finish off with a sniper shot. I don't think Killzone has ever worked for me. Every time I use it I never shoot anybody. The people in the zone simply leave it. I must be doing something wrong because even my cousin said it's Awesome.
The only zone that hurts more than the Friendzone

expanded magazine is better than autoloader, because you can use more of your killzone.

3 Snipers on Killzone.
This video is honestly amazing.
Watch that Mech trying to escape. Even a synthetic is scared
It isn't XCOM, where is the "miss" ??, and what does that numbers meant ?

Good in theory, until you remember they have guns (or worse).

Dose kill zone put everyone on overwatch? Or dose it just increase the chance of hitting for everyone that's in overwatch?

Killzone is triggered by enemies entering the zone, not moving within it
no wonder xcom lost the 1st war, their snipers held their rifles in a weird wrap around grip, vs xcom 2 guys
