The captain being COMPLETELY alright with Isaac hailing a comm from the bridge, initiating a rain scene simulation, professing love to another officer, and then having everyone in the bridge getting wet from all of this. As Gordon says, definitely the weirdest ship in the entire fleet 😂
It gets even better because in s3 they stated that the Union prohibits their ships from having music on deck 😂 Isaac for sure must've kbown that and he completely disregarded the rules willingly
I never expected a Seth MacFarlane ode to 90's Star Trek to make me ugly cry, but it did. And this moment transcends all of the 90's Star Trek esthetic he tried to honorably emulate.
Just goes to show how truly talented MacFarlane is, he can sing, do a thousand different cartoon voices and spot on impressions, write comedy and dramatic sci-fi, the dude is a fucking legend.
What's really incredible is that even though Isaac shows no emotion, he actually is the most emotional character in the entire show. He shows more affection, romance and care out of most characters in the series. Despite not expression, you can tell what he is thinking and feeling. In my opinion, best character in the series.
The fact that he can do that because he collect data and evaluate them without any emotions futher we human still in learning process when it came to understanding our on feeling and others...
Girl next to Gordon is so focused on her work that even being wet by rain won't deter her from her duties. Not even going to chime into what is going on behind her. She probably transferred from a different ship. She could have said "You guys are weird"
Their food and drinks are created by rearranging matter in a food synthesizer. They live and work with aliens. I think rain on the bridge is par for the course.
@@nomisukeindustries Not really, they actually pretty much state in the scene that it isn't par for the course. "We have got to be the weirdest ship in the fleet" an exclamation indicating that even Gordon thinks this is weird for them.
Par for the course for their ship. No one in my family questions our actions within the home. However, when anyone comes to visit, we agree that we run this place like an elephant zoo.
The trick to a successful fictional creation of whatever genre is it's ability to make people have an interest in the characters, their past, present, future, their interactions etc. These days, not many series can do this, but utilise one dimensional characters with no investments, and I don;t think I need to name the prime examples. That's why The Orville is so loved, because of this inestment it evokes from it's fans. Well done ALL involved with The Orville... (even though the name does keep bringing up... * shudders* 'I didn't !!!")
I feel like I just got hit with onions instead of pepper spray I'm smiling and crying at the same time., it feels like that one very special button that everyone has just got pushed
Star Trek - ship gets fired upon, electronics explode, and fires start everywhere on the bridge. The Oroville - electronics protected from torrential downpour on the bridge. Love it.
The ending of this 'Orville' episode is a much better ending than the TNG episode which inspired it - 'In Theory' - when Data went on a date with a young smoking hot Starfleet officer. Sadly the next episode ruined Isaac and Claire's relationship. But here's hoping they would be able to patch things up in Season 3...
Space....The Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Orville. Its continuing mission: To continue the original 'Star Trek' adventures inspired by Gene Roddenberry's visions. To seek first contact with new civilizations while having lots of fun. To boldly go where no Trek has gone before!!
Also since Malloy has straight up abandoned his duty, someone must make sure that the ship doesn't just crash while everyone is looking at this Little theatre 😂
Honestly I've oftened wondered if the Federation stores TNT beneath their consoles because those things blow at the slightest bit of action. You'd think in the 24th century the engineers could create a console that didn't blow up in their faces every time they're under attack.
Gordon: So your really not going to react all of this that is happening around us? Girl next to Gordon: Yes Gordon: Come on whats more interesting than a artificial intelligence setting all this up for the most respected person on this ship Gordon: Cept you Ed! Seth: No worries! This like being in those old fashioned movies! Girl next to Gordon: How about that asteroid field? Gordon: hold on wuh?
But seriously.... I did not expect the Orville to serve me an ugly crying session but nonetheless my husband saw me ugly cry at this sooooooo damn hard.
I know that when I first uploaded this video it's sat in purgatory for close to a year with a copyright infringement warning. Then one day I started getting notifications that people were commenting on the video. I believe Seth MacFarlane's production company had a restriction, but that restriction lapsed because they do not own "Singing in the Rain". Whatever rights they paid for to use the song in the episode must have expired. I think there may be some sort of copyright renewal that needs to take place before the episode can appear on television again. As far as I understand it, Kubrick still owns the copyright to the song. I wouldn't put it past whoever is representing him to want more money for the episode to air again. Since the RUclips algorithm only flagged this as a copyright infringement due to the show and not the song, I guarantee if they were to flag it for the song you would never see this clip again on RUclips.
Wonder if they pull something like that in star trek would they get court martialed For making it rain on the bridge Also is she in love with the robot
it was written by a white person lol that's why. Ya, it's the scene but like baby girl knew. the amount of effort that went in after that scene in the rain was probbaly nuts depending on if she had a perm or not @@kouko6727

The moisture disappears once the simulation is over as they're holographically generated water molecules.
@@aaronbarlow4376i mean you still feel wet during that time
It's because McFarland loves show tunes.

What was just an okay episode blew me away with the ending.

Isaac is the most romantic Ai 🥺 even in the latest episode, he's like a dream. 🥺
This is the most heartwarming moment in this show, if not one of the funniest!
The funniest in my opinion was... WORKING NINE TO FIVE!!!
This scene alone is so McFarlene I won't doubt he directed and wrote the episode as well. The musical number, the sci-fi setting and the humor.
This moment made me cry so I think it was successful at something.
My favorite was "let's flip the table"
Gordon one liner was the best part of the entire episode

Definitely the most romantic scene in the series.
Why is the best “modern-day” Star Trek show not even a Star Trek show?
Because Seth MacFarlane's humor puts the show into a category where Star Trek doesn't fit. This is more like "Galaxy Quest" meets "Firefly".
So glad that the consoles are waterproof
And where the water even came from? Most of the roof on top is "glass"

I think isaas reprogrammed the bridge to work as a simulator. The rain is there but at the same time it is just a simulation. They experience the rain
Everything is a simulation. Nothing is getting wet, since water isn’t really there. However, all the sensations are

This heartwarming moment brought a tear to my eye. Loved it.
When an android is better at romance than you are.
