imagine that after killing the main boss in white shell, tough af, the moon turns around and reveal itself being mother of main boss being like "you killed my baby, now youre screwed" the end.
Imagine how fun it would be to skate around super fast and slash at enemies as you go! I could imagine some amazing parts where your jumping through obstacles as you skate.
I'll be making more breakdown videos as and when more info is released about Solar Ash Kingdom (and of course something *big* when it actually comes out) because I don't know if you can tell but I'm KIND OF EXCITED! Literally the only other announcement that would've got me this hyped is Persona 4G coming to the Switch. Those of you patiently waiting on part 2 of Nostalgia STUDy: I'm sorry it's taking so long. I'll get there eventually - and rest assured that this quick video didn't take too much time away from it, probably under 15 hours in all - but I've made the mistake of having too many projects started, and too few being finished. *It's a comin'*
Maybe Solar Ash Kingsom is a prequel. Alex did say that SAK is not a sequel to HLD but he never said it wasn't a prequel. That could explain why Judgement is breaking out if that egg-like structure. He could be just being born. I'm just so excited for this game!
It's probably not judgement but maybe the design is loosely based of Judgement I imagine the story will be different than HLD but since it's heart machine, mortality will probably play a strong theme in the story
I would have preferred this game to be in the same pixel art style from HLD, but I cant fault the dev for trying something new. I just hope they revisit art style again in the future.
Yeah, bro. HM has made it clear that that that skating traversal will be in the game and that getting it right has been a huge priority. I honestly feel showing it off was the whole point of the trailer and that they've put so much into it it's the last thing that will be cut but that, of course, is only speculation on my part.
Everything about the forest and the church areas were amazing in Hyper Light; the colors, music, and enemies, the damn bosses...and that’s not knocking the rest of the game, which I adored. Took me 50 hours to platinum a game I thought would max out at 10, and I enjoyed every minute of it. With all that said, I’m really looking forward to Solar Ash.
Hoping for some analysis videos of the Introduction Trailer and the new Gameplay Reveal video as well as the two blog posts associated with them, when you have the time! :D
You should totally make update/news videos for this game as more information comes out, you already have a presence in the community because of your AMAZING story summary video, I think it'd work out really well!!
After watching the introduction trailer can confidently say that the sliding around could be a sprint move and the anti gravity thing might be a platforming mechanical for exploration (and also secrets can't forget about those)
I would have loved it if they kept the pixelart artstyle but hey I won't judge it till I play it also I can't be the only one that feels like this isn't the same world as hld's world the buildings look modern while the ones in hld looked almost tribal in a way and i don't know, the whole aestetic looks different, if I didn't know it's made by heart machine the only thing that would have made me realize it is is the music
It’s confirmed by the dev that its in the same universe so maybe it takes place thousands of years after hld and the buildings are from a civilization that came after hld and then fell to that new judgement like monster. Just a theory though Edit: or maybe hld comes far after instead
I seem to recall Alex once said in an interview that they were considering doing the original game in 3D. But 2D was cheaper, easier etc. Plus the devs, including Alex, are already huge fans of that style :)
Looking at how our new drifter was sliding down clouds, I'm just wondering what in the world must've happened on that world to lead to semi-solid clouds and super low gravity.
7:00, Seems more like it would be a cycle between whatever the jackal represents and judgment, because the jackal empowered not only the drifter but many others to fight judgment. Thats assuming 1) judgment can reincarnate, and 2) the creature is judgment instead of the art style simply being conserved. Judgment was the personification of the cell - the technology built by the major races of the island; doesn't seem like a cosmic entity like whatever the jackal is. Could be wrong; it will probably all be left up to interpretation...
This monster that the speedster Drifter could have to do with Judgement’s origins. Maybe she is imagining it like the other Drifters, or maybe it was real to begin with. This sounds really promising, this game...
I still don't get when people call HLD's boss "Judgment". That name came from the Steam trading card who were all based on Tarot cards, and thus had standard Tarot card names. The Drifter's steam card had the name "The Magican", but that was obviously not his real name but also a standard Tarot card name. The name "Chimera" would make way more sense, since that's the name of the music track that plays during the boss fight, and matches more with the lore. Nitpick aside, I loved the video! Thanks for the detailed look into the trailer!
I'm megahyped! Though I didn't read that the devs said that this ISN'T a sequel. Well bummer. But hey, same universe? Nice. I hope it is as crazy mysterious as HLD. Good analysis though!
so it was a little vague in the video, so I just want to make sure: This *is* taking place in the same Universe as HLD? So it's not a sequel but it will continue the lore in some way?
@@LocalContentShow Awesome! Can't wait to hear what you think about the new trailer that just dropped! looks like there was some gameplay towards the middle there with skating locomotion in it!
So, is there any hope at all you'll ever come back to RUclips? Maybe do a video on the new trailer? Totally understandable if you don't want to come back, just curious.
I hope so. My life has drastically changed this year (in a great way, don't worry) but that means I haven't had time for RUclips. I do really want to get back into it so hopefully I'll be able to soon.
I understand why people are upset about the change in art direction. That being said, the art style here reminds me a lot of Gigantic (RIP), and that is a very, very good position to be in.
I hope indie games continue the trend of transferring to gorgeous 3d. Risk of Rain 2 did it so perfectly and this game looks absolutely stunning so far so I hope that devs can keep coming up with creative ways to do this.
@@iliketrains6707 There are definitely some really good examples. Like dead cells, hyper light drifter, celeste, etc. But half the time it feels like it's used just to save money.
I think the combat will be similar to hld but with the 3d factor maybe it'll be more like Sonic adventure meets Devil may cry. But I sense a breath of the wild type world which would be amazing as this is what I wanted from the hyper light drifter lore eventually. Maybe even compare the monsters and races and architecture of 2d vs 3d
I've had a personal canon/theory that bases itself on the fact that Judgement projects itself differently to each individual person. Do correct me if you have to. The Guardian character from HLD did describe it as a large, centipede-like creature, which is very unlike the anthropomorphic Judgement we know.
I believe you are right about Judgement manifesting itself in different ways: Further supporting your idea is the minotaur in the arena telling us that he views it as an abyss.
Fairly worried considering she seems to have only done narrative design for one other game and it was a mobile game, although it was apparently good enough to get high praise from Kojima so it must have had something going for it. Her other projects are a bit of a mixed bag too: Fez and They Bleed Pixels, which she apparently did QA for, are both excellent but all the games she lists as ones she's had more creative roles in frankly look awful.
@@LocalContentShow Awr wow, you actual shed some light to me on some of her background that I was unaware off, for example the Kojima thing. Thank you for your response I appreciate the honesty. Because they're big, black and purple, tentacle-y, have a big eyeball and seem to be the big-bad of the game just like Judgement was. I'm not saying it's literally the same being - I'd guess it's probably similar to Ganon in, say, Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild where they're both manifestations of the same ideals that happen to share a name but are otherwise different entities.
The official website says the game will feature "massive enemy encounters." That COULD mean some Colossus shenanigans, in which case it could be another monster.
