Canon R5 / R6 Eye Auto Focus that's not cumbersome.

After reading comments in various places about the R5 / R6 eye tracking being to cumbersome to use I realized many users are missing out on one of the best features of the camera. I just bought an R6 to use alongside an R5 at weddings and the AF system is one of the reasons I'm replacing a 5D MKiii. I don't understand how the default setting could be useful but it probably is to somebody. Changing it is simple and will probably make you smile if you aren't already using it.

Apparently some don't and they end up disliking eye/face tracking so bad they don't use it. If they photograph moving people they are missing out. I follow one really good wedding photographer who said she doesn't use eye/face tracking because it's too hard to select the face you want in crowd. Flipping this one setting changes all that. I think that the people who are already using it don't realize why the others don't like it and they don't realize the others are basically using a completely different procedure. I hope this helps those who haven't tried it.

Excellent video! I subscribed. I do a similar thing with my R3 and was wondering if it was also possible to do it on the R5 and R6. Now I know I can. This is great news. Thanks for the tutorial.

I use back button focus on my R6. How can I integrate this into my shooting method when using your method? I switch between servo and one shot using the DOF button in the front.

I believe this setting only applies to eye/face tracking. Just try the setting mentioned in the video and see if it works and only changes behavior during servo operation.
