    When I set out to rebuild the UK's cheapest Honda Blackbird, I frequently turned to eBay for the necessary parts to get this bike back on the road. So when they reached out to me join them at Brands Hatch for the BSB, it seemed the perfect match!. I am also excited to share with you in this upload a complete breakdown of the costs involved. We didn't just simply repair this Honda Blackbird, we modified it, improved it, and rebuilt it into one truly spectacular bike. Also If you're embarking on your own passion project and need parts, then I highly recommend checking out eBay ebay.us/xPyBxO

    I bought One of these for my channel too, had been very neglected and I paid around £1600 but in an un-crashed condition, then set about making it beautiful again, with new fairings from "Monster Fairings" which were ordered in Colour so no painting costs. Turned out very nice over 6 seperate videos on the channel. including fitting the Chinese budget fairings! Amazing bikes on a showstring 😁

    I do get it. Its a youtube project and I for one have watched your journey and enjoyed every post, so from this point it maybe worth it.
    However for a layman to consider replication is a non starter.
    The cost do not include transport (looks like you hired a van to collect the bike initially) and obviously your time and effort was uncosted.
    Thanks for posting and I look forward to your progress with the Yamaha.

    You could have resprayed it yourself for a lot less than that, a partial respray in the same colour ? Your statement at 7:13 is a little puzzling. "I could have just gone ahead and replaced the engine" but you did replace the engine ? A good build though, enjoyed the first start up.

      Hi Brian - I have seen you have spammed a handful of my uploads in quick succession. Please know that the bike has been MOT'd, has had a health check by a Honda main dealer and I have ridden the bike. Also all my work is on RUclips to see, including everything torqued up to spec by the book. Which is more than can be said for buying a second hand bike off a stranger. 😁

    • @wibblywobblyidiotvision
      @wibblywobblyidiotvision 10 месяцев назад

      @@BikesofRye The funny thing is that both of you are correct here. You've done an awful lot of things very very wrong, which is unsurprising given you've never done this before. The sort of things that can go south in a very dramatic and life-shortening manner with no warning whatsoever. It'd be OK if you were working on, say, a C90, which is the sort of level most beginners start with, but that's a 160 horsepower superbike. Hell, even that would be OK if it was only your own life you were risking, but you're planning on giving it away, and if anything goes seriously titsup which isn't down to consumables or rider error, the liability goes back to the person who did the work. "Sold as seen" is no defence, as my ex-colleague found out when he ended up with 6 months suspended, and that was only for a Mk 2 Escort, which had passed an MOT - MOT is no guarantee of safety. And yes, all of your work is on RUclips. Not only is that what's commonly known as "evidence", and I'm now going into IANAL territory, but as your rebuild series was ad-supported, it would seem to me that you were paid for the work, which makes it in some sense a professional rebuild. Do you have liability insurance?
      So : "deathtrap" - arguably, yes. MOT - sure. Honda main dealer health check - sure, but again, they will not accept liability for your work. You've ridden the bike. Sure. You haven't ridden it hard, though. I still ride my XT550, but I have to be careful not to wheelie it, 'cause the frame is bent. Everything torqued up to spec? I didn't see that in your videos, I saw a lot of errors.
      I'd be very worried about giving that bike away. It's a rocketship, and the first thing you do with a rocketship is see how fast it goes.
