🟢 EVO REX & EVO GIGA NOW AVAILABLE ON CONSOLE www.curseforge.com/ark-survival-ascended/mods/paleo-ark-evolution-apex-predators 🟢 Paleo ARK: Evolution will be FREE TO PLAY, no premium costs Also change of plans, Tarbosaurus is now coming haha
no more tarbos? That makes me sad. the tarbosaurus is my favorite dino and the paleo mod had the only one that looks great. Hope you will change your mind and bring him back at some point.
As someone who grew up with horses, it always bothered me that they had bits (the "bar" in the mouth). The bit only works on a horse because all their teeth are at the front of their mouths and it rests between the rear gums (some types press against the soft palette at the top of the mouth to apply pressure, which can really hurt the horse - there's been a big movement toward bitless riding.) It always felt clunky and unnecessary to me to have them in the game since it can be difficult for horses to eat with bits in their mouths. It's especially strange for creatures with beaks - they would not be able to close their mouths at all, let alone be fed. Edit to add: this is a fantastic twist on the carchar tame. It reminds me of Fang and Spear from Primal - building up trust and partnership. The model and everything are also super high quality! I've been looking forward to PALEO ARK and it seems like it was worth the wait!
Yeesss, Fang and Spear is such a great comparison! And agreed entirely regarding the bar, a lot of us aren't a fan of it and I'm glad we're just doing away with them entirely
Most gorgeous tyrannosaurus design I have seen in a hot minute. I adore the way it strikes a fine line between paleo accuracy and the stylization of Ark, having stylized bits and bobs and even some proportions on animals is something I tend to do on my own doodles and such. If Ark ever gets to a better state I will so be using Paleo Ark and Ark additions all the time; thanks for the showcase ♥
I’m so glad there’s no Bit in the mouth. Even gentleness aside, the giant cylinder in a reptile mouth makes no sense, they wouldn’t be able to close their mouth at all. (Bary is a great example of this) and specifically what rhe dumbest thing about them is most of the Dinos with bits don’t have reins connecting the bit to the rider, so they literally are pointless and would not do anything irl 😂
Also, I’m no expert, but I don’t think that having your mount bite down on enemies is very viable when you have a big metal pole in its mouth, it just seems like the last thing you’d put on a T. rex of all things
I am beyond excited, you guys did a phenomenal job, i am a little sad that i will have to wait as a PS5 player, but like you already said in the video, i am more than sure that you guys will do a fantastic job and it will be worth the wait in the end, thank you so much for your hard work and dedication!
One of my favourite little details I noticed is that the blood effects that get thrown up from the bite change to match the creature! When you were fighting regular critters, red blood, but with the big brood the blood effects were a bright buggy green. Genuinely in awe of the kinds of things the modding community can make, and I love being a part of such a talented community!
Oh I ADORE this taming method, the knockout/forcefeed feels so aggressive, this makes it really feel more personal and genuine when you befriend them. 11/10 on the taming method! Also absolutely gorgeous, omg
Just tamed somewhere between 20 and 30 of these over my days off looking for stats and traits. I came back here to see if there was anything I had forgotten about them, and I am blown away by how much work has been done on this creature. I always thought the original evorex was fantastic, but now it’s somehow even more intimidating. You guys just never stop cooking with these creatures, and it shows.
Gotta love the Paleo ARK TLCs, especially from an animation perspective (as I do think that a lot of base Ark creatures are lacking in that department, namely: the Rex, Giga, and Carchar. I do think they did a great job with the Gigantoraptor though). The ability to press space to turn also reminds me of the Sauroposeidon entry in the Extinction creature vote, giving the larger creatures a method to be more tolerable to control.
The walking animation is beautiful and the size looks very fitting I love it when Rexes are more of these graceful animals rather than big tanks made of teeth.
seriously this is a beautiful rex, the model is gorgeous, i love the way it moves, it feels like you can really see the powerful muscles working as it moves.
As a Paleo accurate lover, I must say this Tyrannosaur has been crafted to perfection. Im so happy with it, I could cry. I might actually cry should I find one in the wild. I'm on console, but this will be well worth the wait!🦖
was hoping there was a model replacement for the rex since i started ascended, didn’t know it was a thing until i stumbled upon this video- i used to watch your spore sculpting videos YEARS ago! great to see you’re part of this project and best wishes to to you!
ahhh, I need to catch up on this series! Its so cool seeing familiar names in the credits of who did what I never really considered the ark trex ugly. It looks decent. But the Modded Rex is just so gorgeous I wonder what a Paracar would look like revamped XD
This looks INFINITELY better than the cartooney toy-like appearance of the base game T-rex. It doesn’t necessarily have to be ultra-accurate to real life, but having a more grounded design that makes sense anatomically and zoologically, just improves the immersion so much, and makes them look more feasible as actual animals, rather than giant toy plushies. I wish I had this mod. It looks so good.
I love the stark contrast between quality mods like these... and then you look over to the left and in the corner is prehistoric beasts. Praying that mod gets picked up and fixed by an actual modder because theres so much potential
@@Styx_Gaming Its more about the creator. The dinos themselves are alright, nice variety but a stark contrast between them and any other mod dino, worse textures and animations. Some of them don’t even have texture in game. The main mod dev has been proven to steal models from other games and generally just doesn’t know what she’s doing.
I cannot wait for this mod to come out!! I only played with this mod briefly on Fjordur on ASE and loved all the different dinos. Y’all did a fantastic job, everything about this mod is amazing!!!
I like the leaner rex definitly the rex we shouldve gotten when Rex originally got its official TLC. However it would be nice to have a bulky variant with more armored scutes on its hide. I still can't believe where Darkedge has gone (in a positive way!) when I subscribed this was a channel that made beautiful spore creatures then came the sculpt videos with that one program (forgot name), and when Dark first played Ark I was like "hey, that's funny wonder what she'll think of the game I have been playing for years" never did I imagine she would become an ark mod reviewer and less that she would be a paleo ark team member (with upfromthedetphs which I could repeat this story with but with that I knew from from the small ark creature stories). I'm proud of where things have led! and am ready for many more surprises
It really has been quite the journey! And thank you so much for sticking with me for as long as you have. It'll be exciting to see where we end up a few more years from now 👀
I really hope these guys are good! I remember having to turn off the Tarbosaurus on ASE scorched earth, the wild ones just killed their dps by alternating bites and stomps, so they would very often die after picking fights. They're looking good at least!
Since my base is on Carno island on the south east off shoot, I may finally need to build a wall to keep these new rexes out. For safety purposes of course. To protect my own collection of evo creatures once they come out.
wow this looks incredible, I love it actually has binocular vision, ark rex can finally look straight ahead! wish they used a design like this for ark 2
Do you guys think youll ever add an option for just knocking it out im just curious i love the model but i personally prefer the old taming method if not its not a big deal (great mod by the way)
I always used to see paleo dinos on youtube (because im only on console) but now seeing that i will finally be able to play with them on console im excited
I had thought about making a mod Rex and giving it a Deinosuchus style Giga bite, but decided it’s bite should be unique. I had settled on a holding left click latching mechanic like the stego that would deal damage in one second ticks for 4 seconds. The first second would deal 1x damage followed by 2x at 2sec, 3x at 3sec, and 4x at 4 sec. If you held the bite to completion it would give a bone break debuff, slowing the target for a while.
i dont know why but i love that split eye ball of vanilla one, it gives more deadly and powerful look other than than that the new model looks absoleutly fabulous
@@Androtesh I definitely do prefer the Evo rex, the lips, non-broken wrists etc look way nicer imo, I just wish it was chunkier. As is, the adult looks like it's still a subadult.
Evo Tyrannosaurus incredible the paleo ark team did an amazing job creating this amazing model the details and textures are incredible.they did an amazing job. I am also very excited for it to drop on consoles. I have been waiting such a long time to play this mod and I can not wait until the Evo giganot comes out. the Evo Tyrannosaurus is 100 times more better than the vanilla version because it has more moves.better animation and better looking❤❤❤.
This looks AMAZING. It feels so alive when it moves and the attack animations are super smooth. Only downside is that almost every other dino will feel bland compared to that. Awesome work !!
Hah I feel that, it really does highlight how old some of the other dinos look. Fortunately, our TLC wishlist is very, very big 👀 it'll take a while but we're determined to give MANY dinos the love they deserve 💕
I like the danger of the rex, the rod in the original model is a reminder that it is a beast and I am it's master. But I can get to the beast is my friend mentality too. Either way is fine with me, so ofcourse I will with the much more finished look. I love he new arms of the Rex!
They look great, I think Wildcard needs to offer the makers of this a job. The only problem I see is it seems to be more prone to do the swipe attack instead of the bite, which may cause problems in the boss fights.
First of all, absolutely butiful design on the rex. Great work paleo team. Second, that convert to Evo thing seems slightly overpowered because (using evo giga as an example) taming a wildcard giga is, in my opinion, far easier than an Evo giga. Because of this, the fact that at this point getting to the lvl to tame a giga isn't that hard in ark, you can pretty easily bag yourself a monster pretty early on. All you need is some kibble, a bunch of tranq arrows, and maybe 5-10 crossbows. Then you simply convert it to its sronger(and far cooler/badass) varient, and you can hypotheticaly tame it at lvl 25. While you won't be able to mount it for a while, whistling it to attack, it's still going to be powerful. While I don't think you should remove the feature at all, with both the Evo Rex and giga, you can tame both their wc variants easy, then convert them. It is a great idea, and it's nice because it won't make your already tamed creatures obsolete, but it seems slightly op to me.
Entirely valid, though the key thing to keep in mind, is once you install the mod and do a dinowipe (you should ALWAYS do a dinowipe when installing new dino mods) there won't be any more vanilla Gigas for you to tame, only EVO Gigas. So the conversion is really only SUPPOSED to be for those who don't want to lose their existing breeding projects, and is totally irrelevant for fresh tames, since there's no more vanilla gigas spawning
it does feel a little smaller maybe like an Allo size just based off the Size of the head. BUT THE DETAILS AND THE ANIMATION IS AMAZING. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST LOOKING REXES EVER.....
Also you should know that on the modded maps you can get higher levels of these Evo Rex’s it’s great I tamed 130’s 135’s 140’s 145’s and 150’s it’s great I love the Paleo mod it’s the best ever I love it I thank you and everyone on the team to making these paleo Rex’s and Giga’s let’s go!
Does anyone have the same problem as i have? Every time when the rex comes over to eat the corpse he approaches passivly but when he eats the corps he hits me too and kills me instantly.... i tried letting go of the corpse before he is here but than he just wanders away...
The rod in the Trex's mouth is a bit btw, horses have these too, they're used to better control said mount, so the "rod" actually makes sense, but definitely does look cooler without ahaha
True! But horses also have a big gap in the back of their mouths where the bit can sit comfortably while they close their mouths. Rexes wouldn't have that, haha And yeah it does look cooler without :D
Yeah good point actually, the teeth would be in the way on a rex so in fact a bit would just damage its mouth, bits aren't actually comfortable for horses though they just get used to it over time but even that wouldn't be possible with a trex ahaha

@@DarkEdgeTVSurvival hey uhm small question i have the mod installed and I've done dozens of dino wipes but the vanilla versions still spawn
it does feel a little smaller maybe like an Allo size just based off the Size of the head. BUT THE DETAILS AND THE ANIMATION IS AMAZING. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST LOOKING REXES EVER.....
Oooh good shout, I should have include some other dinos in to get a clearer view of the sizes. And thank you! The team did such a stellar job on it :D
Also does it have an Alpha Variant?@@DarkEdgeTVSurvival
It will yes ^^
God the mouth actually shuts rather than this janky ass underbite! Damn it’s so good!!!
If ark 2 ever comes, i hope the rexes look like this
This is the greatest Tyrannosaurus in any video game I have ever seen!!! God damn it looks so good!!! The feathered version is fuckin badass!!
Just the shaking of the rider on the back of the rex is awesome the fat and skin is giggeley like it would be if it was real
Does anyone have the same problem as i have? Every time when the rex comes over to eat the corpse he approaches passivly but when he eats the corps he hits me too and kills me instantly.... i tried letting go of the corpse before he is here but than he just wanders away...
I need a goddamn beastly PC to start playing this game cause the mods ARE COOKING
Most mods are available on console as well, just for the record
@@Going4Broke2528 I know the only thing that is going to make me play ARK is when the rex and giga release on Console
MAn this is going to be the best time for Ark ASA. Loving this mods and thankyou so much for showing us.
YES I am eagerly awaiting the release
holy nuts
The rod in the Trex's mouth is a bit btw, horses have these too, they're used to better control said mount, so the "rod" actually makes sense, but definitely does look cooler without ahaha
True! But horses also have a big gap in the back of their mouths where the bit can sit comfortably while they close their mouths. Rexes wouldn't have that, haha
And yeah it does look cooler without :D
Yeah good point actually, the teeth would be in the way on a rex so in fact a bit would just damage its mouth, bits aren't actually comfortable for horses though they just get used to it over time but even that wouldn't be possible with a trex ahaha
Wow! This might actually get me back into Ark.
this thing is a beauty! might be one of my favorite depictions. hope it comes to ase eventually
It'll be arriving VERY soon :D
How do we report a little bug for the paleo mod ?
