If Quasars death was really a bug... I don't think anyone will hang you for using Dino Depots recovery feature. Just sayin'.
Should 100% do this, it's a life saver, had a few tames just randomly die or disappear completely

So the paleo Rex is not the one you have here. The Paleo Rex was left behind in ASE. This Rex is Evo Rex.
Also until Paleo Ark Ascension is released, you get the Paleo Evo Rexes by breeding the Evo Rex. I don’t recall the percentage chance but that’s how.
The evo Rex is getting a massive upgrade soon with an updated model and a new attack. The model looks amazing.

I had the mod but ultimately took it off because the evo rex is actually worse in boss fights than the vanilla (tested it, the attack animation is slower).... so this intrigues me.
@@wasserhexe well the mod makes Giga useable in bosses so that should make up for it.

Note: Ik Ares is technically the real god of war in mythology
That follows, because Athena was also a warrior goddess.
Some paleo rex stuff from messing with it:
- you can run around during the taming process, you just have to stay still when it roars and comes towards you (when the prompt on the top pops up)
- you don’t need all the things it asks for, for example you can only have raw meat in your inventory and successfully get to the riding stage as long as you stay still when it approaches. If you don’t have the specific request it will wander off again and come back requesting something different
- the fluffy Rexes are a random chance from breeding evo Rexes, and through some loose testing it looks like fluffy + standard evo = higher chance of fluffy baby, and fluff + fluff = guaranteed fluffy baby
You can breed the fluffys with normals
Yes there is a "Paleo Rex" that you can get by breeding EVO rexes together. It's a rare chance to happen.

@jiro6172 no it's not, I'm in the discord and follow all the developers, paleo is the one with feathers that you get from Breeding, evolved rex is because it is a new model with new animations and sounds.
For the problem with flyers being slow, I feel like it could be interesting seeing some of your lesser used creatures getting to be used for transportation, like the cerato which can actually get reslly fast. Obviously it can't cross over water quickly but the bridge helps with that!
I was using a tapejara for drop hunting for a bit. Surprised the guys don't use them more, other than being stupid hard to find them
two things, see what the tribe log says about quasar and if it really is a bug then just bring him back from dino depot imo and its rare but you can get the paleo evo rex from breeding the rex you have rn
It will say the same thing that flashed on screen, "Quasar was killed." It doesn't give you any extra information, it just keeps a record in case you weren't online or weren't paying attention when it happened.

RIP Quasar. I lost two of my dinos to the void. They just vanished, while I was logged off. No death message or anything. They just vanished with all there stuff.
It's fun watching you tame all the new creatures. But itching to watch you do some adventuring again :)
One been in basic training and advanced individual training for the last 6 months and I'm excited to play Ark once again
this rex is so much better then the vanilla, even if it has just the same stats :)

I feel like buck or bull from jp3 and the lost world would be cool because it matches the colors pretty well plus it’s male.Just nostalgia for the most part
It's honestly a shame that the Evo Rex and Giga are unlikely to receive the Garuga treatment, replacing their vanilla counterparts. They're both such significant upgrades over their original counterparts, so much so that the vanilla versions just look weird to me.
(edit: though design-wise, I don't hate the Ark Rex's model, I just think the Evo Rex looks better. I especially love how the Paleo Ark team does their eyes. When it comes to the Ark Giga though, I would say that I really don't like it's model, which definitely contributes to my love for the Evo Giga. Also, yes, you are currently using the "evolved Rex". There is a Paleo variant though, which you can get through breeding, which has feathers)

Awesome video, you can recover your pyromane with the dino depot mod. switch to the gun and hold R and I think it's the admin recovery option, it has a list of dinos you can select from to recover.

a few things: the evo rex does increased damage to herbivores (that was the dmg diff with the parasaur and vectispinus), and the evo rex roar grounds flyers around it so that's why there is a short cooldown :) i am really enjoying this mod

Hey Syntac. I watch all of the episodes of these series, and support you with likes. Thank you. I just want to mention that such series, where you tame one creature are lacking adventure. It’s kind of robotic. I think more natural episodes make more sense. And also, the fog in the water gives it an engulfing feeling.
Love this mod and taming method - and the video, too, of course (except for poor Quasar's death)! You only have to stand still when the "Don't move" notice is at the top of the screen. When that's not there, I was able to follow the rex around at a respectful distance.
I was in the middle of mutating a rex army when this mod released, so I installed it and switched all of my regular rexes to the new type and figured I'd never have a reason to tame one. Then I spotted a rainbow--colored 130 near my base on Svartelfheim and decided I had to tame her for her colors. (Who doesn't want an army of rainbow-colored rexes? LOL) Fortunately, my character was able to drag a trike I pulled from my breeding line, and the rex taming went great - she only wanted pets, and then we killed some brontos (I think the taming speed is based on the drag weight of what you kill). Now I want to tame more just for the fun of doing it.
P.S. Meraxes turn in place like the rexes, too. You should tame some of them. They're awesome. (I'm also mutating an army of meraxes.)

Carrying that carno around reminded me of the time I was trying to tame a max level otter and ran out of fish in the immediate area so I had to go way upstream to find more. And then realised I couldn't do a tiny little jump while carrying a corpse and had to go alllllllll the way around the terrain to avoid it. And I still had three feeds left.

I don't know about you Syntac, but I would've totally just spawned Quasar back in. Totally random death in my opinion!

I've had that bug so many times in so many different places that I just don't carry shoulder pets anymore. At least you got a bag with the soul and stuff. Every time it happens to me everything is just gone. :(
Name the Rex Scotty! And yeah for the Paleo Giga if you have a Giga Heart in inventory(Carchs also drop them) wait till it rears up and starts sniffing. It will then approach consuming the heart from your inventory and then slamming its tail on the ground and roaring. You must then tank the damage with a creature and the Giga will gain Torpor with every attack(dont know if the damage still increases every bite still) after it knocks itself out feed Exceptional Kibble or Mutton. And yeah the vast majority of the old dinos like the Rex need a massive TLC. And RIP Quasar you will be missed. If Syntac doesnt revive you somehow. Honestly dont think anyone would care since it was caused by a Bug.
I think for you to be able to drag craatures, they must have an accessible inventory on death, for example
Raptors, Carno, Rhino etc can be dragged since they have an accessible inventory on death or they drop a trophy on death, ive tested this and it seems to be the problem, ive also pumped my character weight stat all the way to 400 and tried to drag a trike but it doesn't work... so yeah to drag dead creatures they MUST have an accessible inventory to be able to drag it

That bug happened to me aswell with my charca but thankfully it looks like it's a set number of dmg and my charca barely lived a tick

SYNTAC, YOU HAVE TO TRY THE DRAGON KINGDOMS MOD!!! The dragon design is absolutely beautiful and so fluid now that the creator's been working on the bugs!!! I highly reccoment you playing with this mod! Again, it's called the Dragon Kingdoms mod!!!
i would say, since your pyromane died to a bug, its perfectly fine if you recover it with the dino depot mod. if thats possible on your server.
There is a paleo version of the evo Rex which is the fluffy version. Also the evo Rex is being updated with a better model and a better saddle texture
So the Rex is currently tamed by a mixture of
Carcha,Amarga,Hayenadon taming methods.

Okay I'm gonna say it.
The taming method. You feed it something of size parasaur or bigger and hope it works out as it did for you, there is chance it will wanna kill you.
Then you CAN move unless it does the roar and the text appears on your screen. if it walks up to you can want some meats, kibbles or pets. If you don't have what it wants just wait and next roar it will want something else, longer but still works and won't affect effectivness.

have had the same issue in ASA, if a shoulder pet clips inside another dino, the shoulder pet immediately gets anti-meshed into oblivion :( Not sure if all dinos or just modded dinos - when it happened to me it was a discovery gasbags
A multi attack where it uses two stomps, the tail whip, the head bash, and the bite would be very powerful.
FYI hitting one of those Aussie Theropods with a chainsaw nets you thousands of Keratin.

Evo types are what can be tamed and through breeding you have a chance to get the Paleo types, the furry ones
Sticking with the Greek god idea, Apollo or Ares would be cool, or for a less major Greek god you could do Hephaestus.

I've seen several Reddit posts that Pyromanes are randomly dying while on the shoulder. I assume it's a bug where the Pyromane doesn't actually eat on your shoulder. 😭 RIP Quasar.
How do you have the evo variants spawn alongside the vanilla variants?
As much as I would love to see the vanilla rex get updated to have more features, I feel like there needs to be creatures that dont have a ton of special features and are just a basic creature. The rex is simple and strait foward: a big strong creature with nothing really special about it.

Syntac whenever you breed and mutant the feather ones is a 5% chance you'll get the feather variant and mutant them its very beautiful I love it
Check the Radial Menu on your Rex , i think someone said you can swap the Appearance.
My level 150 rex just disappeared a couple weeks ago. No body and there was no message in my tribe notifications. The rex and everything it was carrying was just gone.. it was also my first ever rex or 150 so i was devastated lol

10:11 the exact same thing happened to my pytomane I was looking for ages for it body because I used it to carry stuff but yeah picked it up and roughly the same amount of time mine just died I couldn’t find my bag 😢. I think it’s got to be something to do with it turning small again I was in my base when it happened to me

Same exact shit happened to my mutated pyromane literally 2 meters from that exact spot. My base is up those stairs in those ruins by the rex. I was walking then he just exploded off my shoulder. I haven’t played since.

For a Rex name you could go with Oedipus especially if you breed them
