The protoceratops experiment blew my mind! How did you even consider it 😮? Trikes were also very surprising. It'd be nice to see how a Barsbodia with all it's buffs, if you steal a baby early on, could do or a Meraxes that also heals itself. I love seeing experiments like this, great video as always!
The only problem I see with this is how it scales with settings and levels. On the servers that I’ve played the most max lvl is 600, and I really wonder how much damage a lvl 600 Evo giga deals and what could possibly tank it for this. A similar scaling problem is plaguing the fasalo and (in my experience) the cerato. Other than that this video is amazing and is a great display of the lengths Ark players will go to for efficacy and or stupidity, often it’s both
Just in time for Extinction! I've been holding off on taming one of these for that map specifically, so this video is actually quite helpful. 👀Helps that I have some good stegos ready to go.
Ahhhh! Yes, I am so happy to see this. Beyond just having another Darkedge video, I have been trying to strategize this exact thing. I haven’t found any gigas since the last Dino wipe a month and a half ago, but I won’t be caught slacking once I do! Thank you for confirming stego superiority, I have been working on my boss fighting stegos anyway, it after this video... I just have to try the protoceratops. I have to. That’s too dang cute. Thank you so much for this experiment, Becca. Here’s an idea: I know the EvoTyrannosaurus has an execute against small creatures. Personally, I’m not a fan of this because I like having small creatures that can swing out against the heavy hitters. So, are there any shoulder-pet-sized creatures that can handily take out an EvoTyrannosaurus? This isn’t a bashing of the EvoTyrannosaurus, it’s a phenomenal creature that bleeds the love and sweat of the whole PaleoArk team, but can any little guy stand a chance against it now?
Yep, that helps! Lesser antidote should do it too, though we're looking at the bare minimum methods to knockout a giga :D So there's a dozen ways you can make this even easier
Ah, thanks for clarifying! I'm even more glad I tested this with the bare minimum, then. Can't tell you how many people have mentioned "antidotes remove bleed" in context of Giga conversations... I'd just rather enrage it and avoid the bleed altogether 😂
@@DarkEdgeTVSurvival I always see people say that too which is just misinformation being spread by peeps who don't actually test it. Was a common rumor because of the gen 1 boss room because people theorized it would counter the giga reinforcements
Archelon probably isn’t terribly great for giga taming, but it is made easier if you lure the giga into the shallow water, that way when you want to engage the giga you just swim a bit away so it can’t reach you, and then swim back up to it to be in stomp range. Though you’d probably still need maybe 2 archelons, an extra to swap out just in case the first one gets low, plus this method avoids making veggie
Back in evolved I used a Paleo Kentro cause the recoil would enrage it in ascended I use the stego with the ascendant pump but if you have access to it use wyvern milk as it makes you immune to bleed
Paleo Kentro is really clever, I'm looking forward to when we can finally get rideable Kentros again in ASA Now you've got me wondering about other recoil creatures, like Arthropleura
Love this version of the Giga! Significantly better than the original! Are you going to be doing any of the mid or small carnivores? Like the dilo or carno?
What map is this? I don't think I've seen it before, also I'm not sure if playing on PS5 has anything to do with the Evo mod but no Evo rexes or gigas will spawn for me I just keep getting normal spawns and I've tried multiple dino wipes, is there something wrong?
I've used a super mutated theri with only HP levelled, with veggie cakes and an ascendant saddle, however I had no idea about the enraged thing where they use less bleed attacks :O I thought you couldn't attack them in the fighting stage or the effectiveness would be messed up, really good to know if I have to tame more gigas but for now I have a nice pair :D
My first evo giga tame was with a stego but the giga was 95 if I. remember correctly, but once i tamed the sivatherium that has been my go to, to tame things that have taming methods like the evo giga.
@DarkEdgeTVSurvival I am now using OP boss fight tickle chicken with veggies cakes 😂 but for new playthroughs when starting from fresh is definitely a good and faster alternative. I completely forgot that if you agro the giga it's much faster, I was just sitting there on my chicken tanking all the hits 😆 thanks for the reminder.
if tanking is the name of the game im surprised sum like a rock elemental isn't in here also, no dmg numbers on a vid thats testing dmg tanking feels kinda odd no?
Indeed, I was planning on trying that after the last dino of this list, but by that point the video was getting rather long and I didn't want it to drag on Still, this was good fun and I'm curious to try some other dinos, including Acro and Deinotherium
This video was oddly fun to make. Are there any other silly experiments or challenges you'd like to see? 👀
The requirements of tranqs and a dino to tame the zaldrir dragon

You gotta do a video on the dracotuthis that just released that thing looks incredible
I did not think the protoceratops would work as well as it did, incredible
Huge respect for those lil guys! It shocked me too 😂
I never thought I’d see something as sad as the Giga bullying the turtle, then you pulled out Protoceratops
The sheer hilarity of seeing two little Protos take on a giga? And win?! Chef’s kiss!
If we are talking about modded dinos, the barsboldia is the best because of the health and defence buff
Maybe the Acro with its shield stance could do the job too. I’ve seen a video by Simulation Surviver and he did it with a mix between Acro and Brachi
I always do mine with Acros. You need at least 30k Health and Ascendant saddles, but it’s feasible
Can confirm, you use an Acro, shield stance, ascendant saddle, and wyvern milk. Easy
Technically, you can use ascendant saddles and wyvern milk with any dino, not just Acros 👀 but Acros sure are another viable method!
Just in time for Extinction! I've been holding off on taming one of these for that map specifically, so this video is actually quite helpful. 👀Helps that I have some good stegos ready to go.
What is that beetle plushie on the giga's head at the end!! It's adorable!
Thank you, Loki and I made that! And Depths made it a supported saddle cosmetic :D It's within the PaleoARK mod now
@DarkEdgeTVSurvival Awesome thanks!! ^.^
very nice video i actually really wanted some information videos that are up to date great video keep up the great work
Thank you! Glad it could help 💕

I swear that Giga has given me nightmares more than ounce. XD
lol can't imagine why :P
Can you imagine being a creature of kings, and then a freaken tiny protoceratops waddles up to you to challenge you?
This came at a perfect time. I finally got to a point where I can tame one of these and just found a high level one in my SP playthrough.
Excellent, I hope it helps!
I remember in ASE that you needed to forced feed wyvern milk to your tame which stops the bleed making it more easier to KO a evo (paleo) giga.
Yep, that helps! Lesser antidote should do it too, though we're looking at the bare minimum methods to knockout a giga :D So there's a dozen ways you can make this even easier

@@nemesisofnameless Im not gonna do that. That's the whole point of trying to enrage it

Not sure if you caught it, but I don’t believe the archelon actually got a healing buff despite eating the cakes, it never gained the icon

I'm pretty sure a buried Meiolania should be able to tank it!
That'd be a fun one! Especially with the mortar cannon shooting it 👀
Are evo gigas gonna spawn on scorched earth? I’m on single player and I have this amazing mod installed
Gigas don't naturally spawn on scorched so ours won't ever
@@UpFromTheDepths what if I install a giga spawner?
Archelon could be considerably more viable if you had passengers since iirc they can shoot off of it.

Try using an Acro! I used an unimprinted one with an ascendant saddle and 55k health and managed to tame a 150 giga with 10k health left on my Acro :)
Been seeing the evo rex’s alot lately on the island & the center I got a female & her baby but I don’t see evo gigas at all just the vanilla ones 🙁

Unrelated to the video, but what mod are you using for that tab on the right of the screen that has the dino info?
Hey, that is actually PaleoARK itself. Some mod authors will add little instructions/cheat sheets to their creature mods
What about acro? My wild knocked acro has 40k hp and i can easily make it 50k no imprint no anything primitive saddle is it enough?

FOR THE EPIC GLORY OF THE DARKEDGE CLAN!!!
Wow, Stego with only 32k hp, primitive saddle and couple veggie cakes? it is very impressive, specially on a 150 Evo Giga.
Indeed! They're my go-to, since if even that minimum can handle a 150 EVO, you just know that literally anything extra will make it a breeze

😂 these are weak 😂 this would never work on a vanilla giga. You might last 10 seconds 😂😅.
Well... duh? Of course it wouldn't lol, these are totally different taming methods. This video obviously isn't about vanilla gigas 😂
