When I was a kid (4 decades ago) I would spend my summers along the Feather River in Nor.Cal before they ruined the river with all the leaves the River would rise during snow melt and then subside, during the summer I would drag a two man inflatable from pond to pond catching big bluegill like that on a Diawa Minimight...with a rosewood handle then drag the raft to the River and release them... there were hundreds of Crystal Clear ponds it was heaven on Earth....Levees now....no more ponds no more bluegill. ..but those are the memories that make me a wealthy soul.... thanks for sharing! Holy crap, Ty. Does your dad work in radio? Ministry? He's got the voice for sure. *Yes!* Tell him to start his own RUclips channel. We'll ALL subscribe.
You'll be doing like Vet Ranch, Demolition Ranch, Out on the Ranch, Off The Ranch, and Dr Matt's brother's channel that I'm subbed to but forgot the name... They keep it all in the family. Matt's father "Dr Lee" is "Out on the Ranch" channel. They have the vet clinic in Boerne that I visit once in awhile to give donations. They fix up homeless pets who need serious surgery and out them back in people's houses the adoption.
You don't know how lucky your are to, as an adult, go fishing with your dad. My dad took us little kids up until about age 12 then we had to go out on our own, which, did us a WORLD of good! We took our basis and taught ourselves. Then, unfortunately, my dad was murdered in 2014. So, not even a chance of fidhing with him. Until we get to the other side, if we're allowed to fish there.
God bless you Ty, Happy New Year to you and your dad!

One time I was fishing with bread and I had no luck then I saw something swim up to my bread and I was thinking oh just a bass I should try a lure after this and then it swallowed the tiny ball of bread like it was nothing then I reeled it in thinking it was a bass but it turned out to be to be a bluegill and I got excited cuz of how big it was. My sister caught one off of the biggest minnow that we could catch witch was . .that big and her bluegill was 9 inches! And to this day we try to catch bigger but we only catch 7,8 inch bluegill and we never caught any bigger yet and I was throwing a saltwater gulp swimming minnow the artificial and I caught a nice Oscar on it
