@kaylalove, Yes, exactly! Most just needed braces/invisalign and teeth whitening. My dentist told me it is always better to preserve your good teeth. Years ago, he was charging $750 per tooth, probably a lot more today. Also, veneers may need to be redone in 10-15 years. Maybe sooner if jacked up by a "veneer tech."

Just wanna put this out there…some dental schools in the US offer services done by students but are under supervision of REAL dentists for a fraction of the price. Check with a local dental program if they offer any services to the public.

So look for those international students because they are double trained and still verified by their faculty professors!! That’s the only awesome deal which is for real 🙅♀️

I had a real dentist that ruined my teeth. He put a crown without getting all the cavity removed. The cavity he left was only a speck. Tiny. Although it was seen with a X-ray. I got an infection and went into septic shock. I almost died and lost bone and 4 teeth! So yeah, someone unfortunately is going to die.

No...just no. You can't do ANYTHING to me without a degree and/or an active state license, that's monitored by a credentialing body. If you need income based/free medical or dental care, find your communities college or general hospital/clinic. For example I live in Nashville, and Meharry Medical and Dental College services the public. They are also connected to Nashville General Hospital, where mostly the underprivileged go. But the hospital has ALL KINDS of clinics that are mostly staffed by students, with doctors supervising. When I broke my foot and didn't have insurance, I went to their orthopedic clinic and got affordable quality care. No need to risk your life people!

Sad to say….before all of this craziness, I was contemplating this procedure, if I had the money of course. So I try not too be judgmental on those who’ve chosen this method.Just being honest. 🤷🏽♀️ Now I love my “crooked smile” Crazy part is that I always get compliments on my smile the MOST! 😔 my teeth are definitely not the whitest. Between coffee, past cigarette smoke, sodas, bouts of depression along with non proper oral hygiene/routine cleaning and care. It’s my fault. My dentist did tell me I have nice teeth, mind you my overbite is CRAZY!!!!!🤪 I just love them even more now and now have to be more vigilant in my daily oral hygiene!

There are dental offices that can work a payment plan with you and there is also a type of "credit card" that you can get for dental work that is apparently interest free. You should look into it around your area and perhaps call around to different dental offices and see how they can help you.

I finished an accelerated dental academy. It was a 10 week accredited, in class program. It was intense terminology on tooth numbers, location, bone anatomy, microbiology, hands on radiography, tool/hand piece names and sterilization etc. I can’t believe this crap is even allowed far as being a veneer tech. I had to take impression, trim them, and way try. It’s a lotttt of stuff.
Anyway, new subbie here!! I love all things teeth and learning knew techniques on brushing and teaching pediatric dental care

And even then. You need to be a DENTIST to lay veneers. If you are not a dentist you can not lay veneers. You can not be a hygienist and lay veneers, you can not be an assistant and lay veneers. You need to be a legit dentist with 8 years of schooling. You need to Obtain an undergraduate degree, Attend dental school. Obtain a dental license and then Complete post-graduate training.
@@lillymurray8408 exactly. My dentist had graduated last year in the spring. As soon as we opened the office, he immediately asked if any of us knew how to put in IV. I’m a LVN but the dental registry will only allow you to do this after becoming a registered dental assistant. He wanted to cut corners and have us also put place temporary and permanent crowns! I said absolutely not. I’m a dental tech and we make the dentures in house.. even we cannot place veneers because we aren’t the DMD.

Composite veneers are a cheap person's route and they can be done the same day without having to be prepared offsite. Porcelain veneers have to be fabricated and are much more expensive but with good reason. Porcelain veneers look more natural and they last longer. Most of these influencers you see are not getting porcelain veneers. They are getting the composite veneers which don't last as long and don't have the natural translucency that real teeth have which is why they usually look cartoonish.

Not for nothing, but devolving sepsis from veneers would be lucky… people often forget that your teeth have nerves and a blood supply within them. That cavity (infection) could spread out and cause sepsis but it could also reach the heart and cause endocarditis, pericarditis, and even pericardial effusions… all significant heart problems that can KILL you if not caught early on….and also leave you with residual permanent damage….. people don’t understand how bad dentistry can ruin your life…and that in and of itself is the problem

I'm not from Atlanta but here in Dallas Texas the news was at black woman's house for doing vaneers and braces in her house
Thank God I'm from London and we have the NHS (National Health Service) this fraud could not happen in London because every hospital and dentist is owned by the company they are not private so if you want to be a dentist or doctor in the UK period you have to work under the NHS and have valid experience, qualification's and education. In London no one trusts private companies ever you are asking for a bad experience.
Btw I'm from South London so we also have our own major ghetto shenanigans so I'm not judging Atlanta🙌🏾 but at least when it comes to health and dental care in the UK in general it is taken very seriously. Teeth aren't even supposed to be that white. Healthy teeth should be a off-white/ivory color borderline palest yellow. Teeth are exposed bone and even dentist/orthodontist won't recommend braces unless it's necessary. People just need to take care of their teeth better.

😮 Ah heck no! I just got my wisdom teeth pulled a week ago. I couldnt imagine someone not knowing anything just messing around in my mouth, regardless of the dental issue. Plus, veneer techs arent a thing, and half of these folks got good teeth already. And for the other half with bad or rotten teeth, there's no way they couldnt find an actual dentisit to help them. I know dental anything is a buttload of money, but still, there was no other dentists that could offer services? But then again they may not have the insurance but still, dentists are willing to help in someway if you really need dental services. Same goes for when i had braces as a teen. It was costly, but the orthodontist aided in making the payment a bit easier. And I can't believe these people just believe so easily and spend that amount of money for the "veneers", only to have to spend twice as much or more to have it fixed by an actual dentisit. I dont know man. People do the craziest stuff and dont think of the repercussions when they're desperate. I pray that the Dental Association gets involved very soon before someone gets seriously hurt or worse.

Veneers are nearly as complicated as getting implant supported dentures. I would know, I've got those dentures. The x-rays, the surgery to remove my natural teeth, the healing period, the temporary teeth, the constant adjusting of the position of the wax set that were being used to determine where the permanent teeth would be set, the follow-ups to ensure everything was healing properly, and anything else I may have possibly forgotten. Not only was it mid five figures expensive, I'm going to have these teeth for a long ass time. Mine are actually made out of zirconia, not porcelain. I even get Botox from time to time as a result of lockjaw. apparently, my job muscles were extremely overdeveloped. These veneers? Destroyed in less than 24 hours! They would not survive my mouth! On top of that, if Mom ever offered to take me to a veneer technician, I would have looked at her like she was out of her goddamn mind! I will not let anyone professional work in my mouth.

The way your health is attached to your mouth, yes, you can die and it’s the reason why I went out of the country. Braces are painful and they can rip your mouth up! You don’t think I miss being girly and going to Sephora? I miss going out to nice spots but if these are the sacrifices I have to make and I’m seeing an actual dentist 🦷, I’ll sacrifice everything except my pets 😂. The pain was so bad.
