Please don't feel bad about long videos, this is one of your best videos as it helps with decision making which you have said is the most important skill in AoM. Knowing which strategy to take is crucial and knowing the map and god matchup is how to do it!
As someone who is 1200 elo I would love a video about Classical Age decision making, idk when to commit to a 2 TC boom, to a early attack or to a fast Heroic. In some matchups it can be obvious but sometimes I make the wrong decision and pay its prize. Great video on scouting, I will try to apply enemy base scouting in my next matches!
Seconding this. As a sub 1400 elo player I obviously adapt to info but could really use a more in-depth guide on how to better formulate my general strategy according to classical age intel.
When training units, do you put them on auto queue in the beginning to have some army and then cancel the auto for every one of them as soon as you see the opponents army? Or you just never auto queue every military unit?
Scouting the opponent first military buildings helps a lot finding out what strategy it may be going with and attempt to build counters for those units rather than blindly building units. Set's vision GP is great for that too
Fantastic video as always! I do have questions for Set regarding when to use his scouting GP and if and when to buy the GP upgrate to racharge. Currently I use it very early, this way I can find animals to convert and scout the rest of the map and try to buy the upgrade soon. BUT usually this means I CANT use the GP to scout my enemies classical villager split and army comp. This might be a mistake. Perhaps saving it for classical is better and maybe I could build a 2nd baboon to help with the initial scouting faze. I'm also unsure how worth it the upgrade is for 1v1 games as they tend to be short and the gold is important. In 2v2 games that take longer it seems like a better idea to get it. Thoughts?
I usually save it for classical, most maps it's really easy to find animals to convert, some maps where I really want to find certain types of animals I use it early. But it's all personal preference, you don't have to do what I do!
You don't mention this (and perhap it's because its something that just happens incidentally as you scout the map for other things), but what importance would you place on scouting for relics in archaic age? Would you always leave that until after the full circle around your base and your opponents? Lets say you found half of the relics naturally in your initial scouting and half of them were not found in the initial circles
I main Thor, who is probably the worst scouter in the entire game. And that's awesome! It's cool that what is otherwise a powerful god is partly kept in check by his pitiful scouting potential.

that was awesome! do you also upload bits of your coaching? would love to hear your real time coaching, especially for lower elo
I really like your videos, Magic. Can you make one about how do you decide if you should boom or go aggressive in classic?
Sure
When training units, do you put them on auto queue in the beginning to have some army and then cancel the auto for every one of them as soon as you see the opponents army? Or you just never auto queue every military unit?
Nope, autoque on army isn’t allowed in tournament games so I don’t use it

Well said!

usually I end up finding most of the close relics with my patterns that I described, I don't go off hunting for them specifically though
@@IamMagicAOM Ok fair enough, thanks
Simply go set 100% of ranked games. Problem solved :D
They are already in my base with 15 units by the time I have scouted both players tcs and golds 😂
hahah
