Outstanding. Wife started talking about buying a $2,000 replacement. $80 bucks and an hour and it was easy. Bravo on the video. This guy must have some strong hands to pull up on the spring. I found it easier to pull it a bit, then put a set of channel locks on it. Made it much easier. Thanks much.
All their videos are excellent!! I just replaced the suspension rods on my Maytag Bravos... I followed this step by step and now I am able to use my machine again! Couldn't even begin to imagine what a service call would have cost! Thanks for posting!
Thank you so much for this helpful video. Like many others, we had been struggling with our Kenmore Oasis washer for months - nearly every load became unbalanced multiple times, to the point where it was almost impossible to finish any load. This video helped us realize that a diy repair was doable. We ordered the parts from you and they showed up in two days. Washer runs like new, even with a large load of towels. I found it very difficult to lift the new rods high enough; even with using the old rods and then some twine to lift them, I had to have my daughter put the final pieces on for me. Definitely worth the time and $$ rather than buying a new W/D set!
This is a great video !! Great concise step by step instructions how to replace the suspension rods. My washer was giving a UL (unbalance load) during the spin cycle and just make horrendous banging sounds. I searched multiple websites but nobody can give me the precise information how to resolve this issue. I initially tried to remove the rods and clean up everything and put them back. However, I still got the same errors. So ordered from Sears Parts and guessed what - they sent me a replacement parts that didn't fit - the rods were 3 inches shorter. I ordered directly from Appliance Parts Pro and received them in 5 days. Replaced them today with the help of my 2 teen boys and within 30 minutes we were back in business - ran 3 loads already and no more UL issue. Bottom line: even though the old rods looks good - nothing you can see wrong with the rods or springs or nuts, the springs might not be compressing evenly since they have worn out from over 10 years of use. Replace them and this should resolve your UL issue. Save a bunch of money by doing this ourselves. Definitely would do busisness with Appliance Pro Parts again. Thank you !!
Thank you for your feedback! I'm so glad that the video and the parts you ordered from our website were helpful and that you were able to get it back in working order!
Thanks so much for posting this video even if it's 6 years-old already!!! My Maytag Bravo couldn't get through a load without the unbalanced load cycle running, sometimes 2-3 times. Your video helped me understand how to do this repair, hardest part was getting the top raised - those spring clips were really stubborn, did not want to release. After that, took about an hour to replace the four support rods. Even with non-skid work gloves, had a tough time pulling the new rods high enough up to slip the ball joint on, they're slippery with packing grease. I finally took an old screwdriver and pulled the rod through just enough to slip the screwdriver shaft through the loop, then I could use it like a T-handle to pull the rod up. Thanks again, hope to get a few more years out of this washer
This video is excellent; very clear step by step procedure with helpful tricks. I searched the web for information to solve the load balance problem I was having with my Whirpool Cabrio washer. I found several that indicated the problem was probably the suspension rods but none of them gave any help on how to replace them. Thank you for your help.
Successfully replaced the rods today, thanks to the video and helpful comments. Hardest part was getting the top of the washer open even with the tip to pull forward and up but I had done it once before so just kept trying. Using the hook end of the old rod to pull the new one up through the top opening was extremely helpful. Thanks to everyone.
I want to thank you so much for your video. We've been having issues with our washer for a while now and finally we couldn't finish a load without an unbalanced load warning stopping it. Your video made it so easy to change the suspension on our washer and keep us from having to get someone to take a look at it. Thank you
Outstanding step by step video! Helped me to repair our "out of balance" Fisher & Paykel Aquasmart washing machine (model WL4227J1). Took me about 30 minutes to do myself. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for this video! I replaced my suspension rods last night... took about 20 minutes. It took longer to remove the cover than it did to change all 4 rods. I only needed my husband's help to lift the lid! Thanks again!
Thanks for the video. I bought the OEM oarts from Appliance Parts Pro and it worked luke a charm. Good video...I wish I could say that it only took the time it took the tech in this video, but it was only a few minutes more :)
Thanks! This video has all you need to know. The presentation is clear and understandable. I was able to change out the rods in my machine in less than an hour.
Thank you very much. Great video, everything worked out great and can now wash items without the tub trying to climb out. I found the rods hard to hold so I took another rod and fished it up instead of trying to hold it. Hope that helps anyone with the same issue. Thanks again for the help!
thanks so much! Wish I would have read the shoestring suggestion B4 we did this. That was the hardest part of the process. It works and we have mountains of dirty clothes that we can wash. Thank you funny hair guy!

Thank you so much for this!!! I was able to change the suspension rods with the help of my teenage nephew since I couldn't lift the tub high enough. Video is precise!
Thank you so much! This was extremely helpful and made the process so much easier. The locking tabs are a pain in the rear but everything else was easy!
I wanted to thank you for your video. I think you covered every aspect and you made it seem simple. I'm only on my first load after performing the repair, but it was very helpful!
One of the best video's I've seen on a simple washing machine fix! Great camera angles helps make the instructions VERY clear. Thank you for posting. And keep rocking that awesome hair dude!!
What exactly goes bad about the suspension rods? I am asking because I installed a set about a year ago and already we are back to a washer that is out-of-balance on spin, almost every load. I would like to be able to see something that is worn or abnormal. I have them out and they all look fine to me.
Thanks for the tips but I had to unscrew the top screw in the rear on the top hard hinge before the top would move forward and lift up. That took me over an hour to figure out what I was doing wrong. Also, my front spring clips are located about 3.5 inches in from the sidewall, not 6.5. Overall it was a very helpful video.
A single part can be compatible with hundreds of different appliances. We film the part on a single appliance model to serve as an example of the repair, but there may be slight variations in the process for different models. We're glad we could give you a good idea about how to do the repair, though! Thanks for letting us know how it worked out on your model.
Thanks for the great instructions! I think I got everything on correctly and the washer seems to be running fine as I type this. However, the replacement of the rods did not go as smoothly as in the video because the tub was very heavy. I could hear water sloshing around. Is that indicative of another problem? My Kenmore Elite's 10 years old.
I have a kenmore elite oasis. Does this fix intermittent f51 and UL codes. I had to replace tub seal and bearing because there was a leak. F51 I was told can be RPS sensor. I bought a new stator from ebay because there was a slight crack. With the new stator I would get constant f51 code, with the old it would be random error. I am using the old stator because it works, but randomly get this error. UL codes is constant when I run it in normal modes. How I get it to wash, is by washing it in delicate cycle. What do you think is the problem? Could it be one problem leading up to F51 and UL codes, stator or RPS sensor. Or both? Or something I overlooked. Any suggestion is much appreciated. Appreciate it!
I have a kenmore oasis elite washer with the shaking problem issue.. I just purchased the rod kit and watched your video.. it didn't fix the problem.. is it possible that I did something wrong or maybe it can be something else?
Will the old suspension springs and rods have any visible indicators that they need to be replaced? My home warranty company sent someone out and he doesn't seem to know what he's doing. He's replaced several things and now thinks its the springs and rods which of course have to be ordered and will add 3 days to my now 13 day ordeal.

I'm trying to install the new rods but I can't lift them up high enough. I followed all the steps to a tee and even "dislocated" the basket from using so much strength; almost dislocated my arm. I think the basket is back on track, but I still can't lift the darn rod up through the bushing enough to put in on the other thing to lock it in. I'm at my wit's end here and almost ready to give up, but I can't afford to, and would be mad because I'm so close to completing this job. Once those blues things lock can they be removed without damaging the rods so I can make sure they in right? Any suggestions on why I'm unable to lift the rods high enough? Well now I know I can't afford a repairman. Called this morning and got a $210 (to start) estimate. I could buy a new used washer, and looks like I'll probably have to. Very disappointing.
We just finished replacing them about 1 hour ago. Take about 30 minutes. One trick: hook the new rod to the old rod and use it as leverage to lift it through the hole. What position on the rod does the black round gasket go? What is it’s purpose?
This is very helpful! replaced the rods and its like brand new. Thank You!

The best... Thanks bro
Before I tip the washer is there any water in the bottom of the machine that I have to drain first?
I need to replace the suspension, but in Venezuela I only find the coils, not the whole kit. Can I replace just the coils?. Thank you
What kind of grease is used on those rods ??white lithium ??Petro gel??
My washer is back to normal hitting speeds that I have never heard it reach before. Thanks
I put new rods in successfully. It starts to vibrate at high speeds. Can you help?
I have a kenmore oasis elite washer with the shaking problem issue.. I just purchased the rod kit and watched your video.. it didn't fix the problem.. is it possible that I did something wrong or maybe it can be something else?
Check for any other damage, also make sure the washer is completely level.

Great video! However its not as easy as it looks. Had to have my wife help me to attach the rods. Two man job when the springs are new.
What goes wrong with these rods that makes them need replacement?
How do u know if the rods are bad? I just replaced the bearings and it still gives me an imbalanced code
Awesome thanks!
You're welcome!
My Maytag Centennial washer does not have the openings for the rods to slip through so you can remove them. Am I missing something?
When you lift up the suspension rod from the bottom, are you able to remove the plastic fittings?
Replace springs on whilpool washer WTW4800X02 type 587-08
+Amelia Blas Glad the video helped you out!
Where can I find the serial number of my washer so I can replace the rods?
The model and serial numbers are on a tag, usually under the lid/door or on the back of the console.
Hi I need the part number of washer suspencion Whirlpool model 7MWT7851YQ0 please..
+Bern Mikhael It looks like that may be a export model, we only have access to models that were sold in the US. I would try a local supplier.
what is the plastic piece called?
+Ashley Mcmillan There are a few plastic pieces on the washer, could you be more specific?
I'm trying to install the new rods but I can't lift them up high enough. I followed all the steps to a tee and even "dislocated" the basket from using so much strength; almost dislocated my arm. I think the basket is back on track, but I still can't lift the darn rod up through the bushing enough to put in on the other thing to lock it in. I'm at my wit's end here and almost ready to give up, but I can't afford to, and would be mad because I'm so close to completing this job.
If it easier if you have two people to help hold back the tub from the opposite side so you have room to work on your side. Be patient and you will save yourself a few hundreds bucks. Good luck..
Also, wear a glove like to give some grip since the rods can be slippery ..
Mike Nguyen Thanks Mike, that's a good tip. I'm waiting for someone to help me with it, my arms have no strength left. I really hope this works. These repair guys always make it look so easy. 😕😞😩

AppliancePartsPros well, maybe 5 days a week. Problem solved. Thanks to Mike.
I just put new ones on my washer and it starting bouncing around
+shanniqua phillips I would double check everything, also check the feet/legs to make sure the washer is completely level.
