Wow! I was just thinking about you the other day! Very nice to see a comment from you. I hope you and your family are well. Thank you for being my first subscriber from Mongolia. :)
this rod would really be nice with at least one more guide. I just reviewed the Mavllos Resolute 2 videos ago and really like it for my type of fishing.
Yep. Shipping overseas on 1 piece rods is a killer. And I get the opposite on the Kistler rods - why no 2 piece? Can't please everyone. It is nice to just easily put them behind the truck seat though....
I'm not really sure why I shy away from multi piece rods. I guess my only real concerns are the rod coming apart during the cast and there being a week point at the joint.
I cant seem to find a review on the Tsurinoya dragon 2, im looking at buying one but not sure, have you done one? Couldn't find one on your channel, thanks.
I haven't tried that one yet - Tsurinoya probably makes the best, consistent quality rods from the CDM market. And the Dragon 2 would probably be my first choice when I do buy a Tsu rod.
You’ve got me wanting to try this ultra light style. Would this be your suggestion for a budget setup to start? If not, what did/reel combo would you recommend?
This rod with the Soloking accura would be nice. For ultra-budget - like probably below $75 total - I'd try the CU Double s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DCAjeSV and the Soloking s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DEVMnbv.
This is my go to rod atm, I do with they had a longer one with this though. I paired it with a 22 alderbaren and using 4 and 6lb fluro. Havent had any monsters but 4-5lb 22-24" trout it did well with a fight. Do you need to spend this much on a rod to work well no, do i enjoy it yes. I would buy another but wont spend more than that. Id guess ive got 3-400 fish on it from last year.
I need to spend more time with this rod as I haven't put any decent fish on it yet. I think 7-8g is doable but will suffer in accuracy. It feels really optimized for that 5g and below.
@@AaronHuntFishing damn. i got the mavllos orca rod which looks every similar but based off my reseach is slightly more powerful rod. so hopefully it works out.
Not sure where the bottom top is... and you saw the video - what did I catch? Bass is a wide term - how big, what kind of locations, what kind of bass? Is it a Power BFS rod suitable for consistently chasing 3+ pounders? No - I don't think it will be. Is it a good multi-species rod that can handle the occasional good-sized 15"+ Largemouth or Smallie? Probably. But I haven't caught any yet to be sure. But I knew catching a bass was a possibility when I went fishing the first time, so yes - you can use it for bass. White bass? Yellow bass? Rock bass? Should be fine. Spotted bass - same as LMB and Smallie. Striped bass, Peacock bass, sea bass? Nah, probably not. I believe there aren't enough guides to make this a consistent big-game catching rod. I think as you push the size of fish you will get some line rub on the blank, and you may get line failure during long or strong runs in that situation. But first and foremost, this will be used in trout and panfish situations for me.
Thank you for sharing Aaron, I have always been weary of buying from ali-express because of it being owned by the Chinese. Fortunately ebay and Amazon are now carrying a lot of the bfs gear that you can't buy here in America. I am fortunate enough to own a J-spec slx bfs and a J-spec aldebaran, both of which were bought off of ebay at a way cheaper price than Tackle Warehouse. How do you like that flight feather?
It performs well for it's price point. It definietly has a few budget- inspired things - like the brake dial. But it casts well and just kind of stays out of the way of my fishing. Kind of like the Alde - once it was dialed in I don't feel like I hardly ever changed the brakes. I went from 1.3 grams to 5 grams with zero adjustments in this video.
@AaronHuntFishing I started with kastking zephyr over a year ago and loved that little reel. I then got a takumi-zeus from temu and that was the worst reel ever! But hey for 29$ what do you expect. After talking to you a couple times and doing a little research I went with an slx 21 and boy did that thing impress, not only does it cast really well, but it handles big fish. I need to figure out which kistler rods of yours to pair with my aldebaran, I am thinking the 6'8 or 6'6. I would like to be able to throw small lures but also a few 1/8oz lures as well. Before me getting on the team I have been using Phenix feather light rod, 7'1 Xtra fast. I like it, but for the money I feel it could have been a little nicer. Anyways, sorry to talk your ear off, I have to go to work. Have a good day bud, tight lines🤙🎣💪🇺🇸
Ive owned mine sense the day it came out, only thing i will way is it is a solid tip... some people like it, some dont, solid tips are not as sensitive vibrationally as tubular rods, nonetheless its a very great rod. (Dont use this rod for bottom contact, they are not designed for that!) I wouldnt reccomend the rod if you dont know what its for, or the average angler for fishing. these style of rods are called neo rods, used generally for horse mackerel and small plugs and jigs around 1-2 grams for trout, hence the solid tip. Anything over two grams is not good and overwhelming, and minnow style lures would be better on a tubular tip or glass tip. If your running any line over .12mm it will not be enjoyable. While his analysis is quite good, i would stress that this rod is a true fast, not as U.S style "fast" action, this is a two action rod. The rod is fast in casting and retrieving, but the solid tip bends over to a moderate fast once a fish is on. Honestly the spinning model is more authentic to the design, bfs trout fishing for still water in his situation is uncommon, it has gained popularity for bottom fishing in japan, but the majorcraft finetail banshee area style would be another alternative, they also make a stream model. Hope this helps anyone interested in it, the seller is good and can confirm he packages the rods well 👍
They did pay you. Receiving a free rod is a form of payment. Nothing personal, but all RUclipsrs who review products state ‘I received this free product, but the company didn’t pay so this review is unbiased.’ That’s deceiving. You have been compensated if they tell you to keep the reviewed products.
No - they compensated me with free product. they didn't pay me. And it was disclosed. Which is how you know that fact. If your employer "paid you" in free goods, good luck "paying" your bills.
Good job Aaron👏 congratulations for more than 4k. Long time no see 😅but I will recover all your videos 😉

@@AaronHuntFishing we are ok, just visiting Romania, parents and friends 😉

That's exactly what I gave Mavllos as feedback after fishing it a bit. I'll do a full review after a few months.
Nice looking rod. Unfortunately, like most of the budget manufacturers, there isn't a 1 piece option.

pretty solid recommendation tbh@@AaronHuntFishing

Awesome - great to hear of it's durability!
how does the upper end of the ratings feel? fishing 7-8g

Is the handle grippy? It looks slippery if your hands get wet.
Not grippy - but I haven't noticed it being slippery yet...
funky looking rod but looks very interesting
Defintiely unique. But it's been comfortable to use.
good info
Glad it was helpful!
What is the diameter of the rod, from the bottom top and how strong is that rod, can you use it for bass

都是我这边生产的渔轮 很有性价比 但是距离日本货还差很远
Agree - there are many good products coming out of China - but the quality isn't the level of Japan, USA, or some other countries.
Let's See How Long The Last 4 Left On Amazon Are Going To Last !!!
Lol. I actually held this video for them to come back into stock! I'm guessing they'll get more in soon.

Good to hear. I have no real concerns thus far. Seems like a well built rod for the price.
