This video STILL brings me so much happiness! I have a story behind this: my ex (Filipino) had lost his dad some months earlier, and he wasn't talking to ANY of his exes because he shut so many people out. I tried to reach out to him so many times to let him know that I was still his friend and always willing to listen to him. He never responded. I sent this video to him, and it's what reconnected us. As friends, of course. He thanked me for the video and for reaching out to him and not giving up... and this video was that ice breaker. So thank you!! We are still great friends to this day.

I felt their happiness and excitement and it was okay to go crazy! I think all of us fans went crazy and almost died when Philippines was called in the top 15 on that year, it took hundreds of years before we made it again to top 15, it is a real huge triumph because this is where the universe actually started to give attention to our candidates. It is Venus Raj who started it all. Note that Venezuela and USA missed the cut on that year, it was like forever a part of history. I love to watch this reaction video over and over again. Venus Raj kept that dream alive and ignited and inspired many young girls in the hopes of becoming the next Miss Universe. That Year was a game changer for The Philippines because it put them on the World Center stage and proved that they could compete with the best of the best. During that time The Latinas mainly Venezuela were dominating Miss Universe. And after that Year it changed how the Philippines trained the girls and coach the girls to be more competitive.

I was there at the pageant with my Filipino friends (I´m from Puerto Rico and was rooting for PR, Philippines and Mexico) and I can tell you that the reaction from the Filipinos at the Mandalay Bay was similar to these guys´reactions. I loved the Raj and also jumped like crazy when she was called!!!
