    I am having the same issue with my G8 GT and it threw a belt for the second time a few days ago. It is mid June of 2023 so the temp is only in the 80's but will get much hotter soon. I am in Saint Charles MO. You stated that you are in Missouri also? Maybe we are close. Thanks for the details and take care.

    How can I fix this? I ask because the AC belt has 3 ribs and the part you recommend has 6 ribs.
    So how do you get it to stay in track?

    Awesome which I k we this years ago I went with the Chevy SS upgrad/ls3 which had a additional idler pulley. Kit was from Australia. Which I saved the money and saw this years ago!

    How much have you driven it since this video? And how is the belt condition now after driving it with that pulley (#231015)? I ask because I was planning on getting the Upgrade Kit.

    Did the belt melt the three grooves in the middle of the pulley down? Plus when the bolt is tight this pulley don't spin at all.The part # 231015.I have a 2009 pontiac g8 gt also.Is there something im doing wrong here?

    For some reason that part number comes up as a 6 rib grooved pulley. Shouldn't the A/C tensioner pulley be smooth?

    Dumb question but which way does the bolt loosen right or left from the pulley to replace with the grooved one

    Is that gold pulley the one you used?

  • @kalani1987
    @kalani1987 Год назад

    I have no issues with the AC belt slip. Is it because an aftermarket dampener is being used? If not, what's the reason for the slip

    • @ls4.8frank
      @ls4.8frank Год назад

      He showed the stock pulley and even explained why it slips. In case you missed it I'll explain it for you. The stock pulley has no lip edges to it so the belt over time will end up slipping off the pulley especially if it becomes rusty. So the new pulley he used has a lip edge on both edges of the pulley so it keeps the belt contained and will not allow it to slip or walk off of the pulley. A very simple fix that if I hadn't seen this video and ran into the issue then I would have done the same thing. Sometimes simpler is better.
