Curious how the belt will hold up over time with that ribbed pulley. Just ordered an OEM tensioner with stretchy belt for now on my G8 because I didn't want to drop the $300 on the upgrade and I need the parts this week lol.

Was under the impression the “stretchy belt mod” had to be done with the tensioner completely removed…so far, several hundred miles of daily driving, the belt has held in there…even if this helps temporarily, it’s def worth a try if it saves you from having to fork out the big bucks on the upgrade….

@@BrothersBuilds There could definitely be a few ways of doing it but the video I watched, the guy just unbolted the pulley from the tensioner itself and was able to get the belt on, so that's going to be my plan of attack haha. We will see how it goes. My A/C belt jumped and shredded the other day and it damaged my hood liner and the serpentine belt. Serpentine belt shredded later than night and now some oil around the harmonic balancer 🤦‍♂ Not sure if front main is leaking now or if balancer has oil possibly leaking out. The fun never ends lol.

Brother if you can afford the supercharger..... JUST GET THE GM HOLDEN BRACKET NO WORRIES AND IT HANDLES MASSIVE TORQUE PULLS

Afford, sure. But that bracket gets very very hard to find. Availability issues are a major hurdle. So if we can develop a temporary alternative, it’s def worth the inexpensive parts and little bit of labor modifying the oem one.

So far so good….I’m not saying it won’t happen again, but thus far it hasn’t. 680.2whp, WOT from 1-3, shifting at 6500(ish), lifting as it shifts into 4th, and still have AC blowing cold….but, it may also help to turn the air off during hard pulls. GM factory programs an AC shutoff but some tuners neglect to address some of those issues.
