I feel like the entire show was a lead up to this single scene.
I completely agree. It seems the entire series is crystallized in this scene. All of the ignorance and death from all the false gods and worship.
It's called Science BUT everything has a creator. Think about it, everything around you is made by someone or something.
@@1994westbrom so what is god's creator?
@@voidmaster4189 depends what God you are reffering to ... there is over 6000 known gods.
@@voidmaster4189 The ¨man¨? The gods are mans creation? -- @david ward , I get what you're saying, but it dont make sense here. Because in the end, it is saying, we/the man do not know, but we need answers, so both religion and sience dont prove anything, but we can bellive what we want, so untill prove, belive what you feel like, as long as you're happy
''Man is the master of his own fate, not the gods.
The gods are man's creation, to give answers
that they are too afraid to give themselves.''
The most valuable scene in acting history.
noO 💀 bit pushy that, but it is GREAT
@@porkybutthole653 no this is a masterpiece and one of the best acting performances ever
This scene gives me goosebumps
Although we know Travis asked for this scene and the director granted it, it makes total sense for Ragnar to think like that.
I did not know that. This makes me like Travis so much more.
This man speaks Truth.
The god exist bro .the god create all things .you should be change your mentality .
@@hatemharki4654 No.
@@hatemharki4654 How about no? :)
@Existential Weirdo god doesn't exist
@@hatemharki4654 Oh so you've seen them! Care to tell the rest of us about them
couldn't have said it better myself king ragnar!
My favorite scene ever in Vikings. One of the best in TV series history
probably one of the most epic scenes in TV-show history.
Ragnar really just gave us the answer to the meaning of life itself
legend..so true
I just love the way he says it and his voice.....damn
These lines said by him, gives me chills , but it's true according to me .
this scene gives me goosebumbs 🔥
I wish they had taken the series in this direction on Ragnar's realization that the division between the pagans and Christians was all bullshit and that men are the masters of their own fate. Instead, the show decided to play up on the mystical aspects of both the gods and the christian god being real.
It does seem kind of weird how Ragnar's character arc revolves around being master of his own fate, culminating in his realisation that gods are false, but then the show tries to have its cake and eat it too by clearly having both the Christian and the Viking Gods be real within the show.
I belive that they are only real in the Imagination of the people (just like in real life) and so they see prove for it even if there is no. Yeah the seer is almost ever right. But what if its likeraknar saied: your predictions can be interpreted in many ways.
So that they see wat they want to see and after something happend they think that the seer predicted it.
I mean that would be realistic.
But i think its also cool that there is no certainty about the gods not being real. ( Just like in real life), and ragnars words stand against the seer, who was somehow right about ragnars fate.
You believe that so it is true, to you.
In my opinion this shows all aspects of faith, it doesn't matter what it is. If we believe in God, fate or that we create our own path. In we end we can't know, although we want to convince ourselves. I think it is true as long as you believe in it. Faith changes with you. And you with it
Atheist 😒
Believing in a god isn’t a "mystical aspect" have some respect.
The most underrated actor in Hollywood.
One of the greatest scenes i've ever seen
Love it!!
Very profound
This scene makes this series best among all. Haha, it seems stephen hawking was motivated by ragnar lothbrok for gods... 😂
christians and religious folks don't get it. This is the realest scene ever.
@KaliBrat0r exactly that’s the entire point my guy

You cut out a lot
NOW NOW, NOW TELL ME WHO IS WRONG OR RIGHT BETWEEN BJORN AND IVAR
What does that mean can somebody explain me
it is the gods who create my faith which people believe , its the conventional norm in majority of cultures to think it is god that cultivates you into the human being you are , ragnar says people dont know the answers to the questions they ask so they just created the gods are ones to answer everything man doesnt know. he also says it was man himself who furthers his destiny , a successful man exemplifies what it means to be a diligent and patience worker, god is nowhere to be see and to rangar gods dont exisit.
Ragnar is saying that everyone is free to choose their own purpose, and live their own life, if only they have the courage to realise it.
i can't see U
I CAN'T SEE YOU RAGNAR LOTHBROK
And when dying he said he will be drinking ale with curved horns and have feast with odin?
That speech was meant for his sons and every Viking out there
I just don’t understand how they can not believe I mean Ragnar literally saw Odin taking the souls of the fallen. I would have understood it if hadn’t shown us so many signs of them being there😐 the biggest proof is that Odin himself shows up to tell ragnars children of the death of their father. Just doesn’t make sense to me
As the seer says "if you believe it... it is true... to you"
Men have created the gods. Some believe in them, see them, hear them, feel them.
Some don't. Ragnar used to believe, but his life experiences led him to this realization.
@@techusan yeah imo, i think when we saw odin it was from ragnar's perspective at the time he was a believer, and now cuz he's not believing in the gods existence that's why we didn't see odin when ragnar dies cuz we were still in his perspective and he had stop to believe in gods so i'm joining what techu says, seems pretty correct to me
Areox but it’s still confusing how right before he died the speech he gave was about the gods and how he believed in them.
@@therandom.cowboy5526 more like he used to believe in them and realize man is master of his own destiny
Areox it did not sound like it, I’m not referring to this speech, but the one right before he died.
Your fate is no one but your own. Make 2020 your bitch!
this scene is so shit with the cut Lagertha part, the whole conversation loses its purpose, the seer says he might have been wrong BECAUSE of the Lagertha part...
There only is allah
There is a much longer version of this scene….
