Too hard on yourself! You jammed a v8 into a Porker, made it work, thrashed it on the track - result! Respect!
eloquent sir, you are. Perfectly said.
It's a big win, Jeff. All builds have a 'dail in' process. You have a short list of Dos.
I was expecting you have a kicking here in the comments. Anyone who has built a project car has run into issues like these. My mates used to call me "finger tight". Keep on Jeff. We know you won't give up
Definately a win! No panel damage and it got back on the trailer under its own power! Call the the gear shift and brakes, post-testing developmental opportunities.
You don’t paint a track day car. You do not want to be afraid to scratch it.
Keep up the good work!
It's a win because you made it there and back!
Its a completely different experience as a passenger than a driver, mrs jeff shuld have a drive
Loving the sound of that V8!!!!!!!
This is why we test at the track, keep pushing bro, when you get the set up right it'll be OHH so sweeter ✌️💜💙
You keep smiling mate, all your rockster problem are solvable and just teething.
Keep at it mate, you keep me entertained
I'd take that result any day on the track. The engine was solid and you got a proper shake down. Well done!!
Its a win! I was slapped every time I drove with my thumbs inside the steering wheel, crash and you rip them off was what I was told.
A serious win! It runs and is on the track.
Man the intake on that V8 sounds really good!!
Engine pulling really well too. You'll fix all those issues over time Jeff! That's how projects go! Keep chugging
The engine survived, that’s a win! The rest you’ll fix and get it dialed in. 👍🏻
Well you certainly have the exhaust note dialed in. I forget how you built the exhaust, I will have too go back thru the play list. Thanks for posting.
If Mrs Jeff did a day at a race driving school she might get it 😀
Aye a passenger is a passenger needs to be doing the pointing and pressing then she might get it
Probably not. My wife doesn't like driving fast all. Considering her father and brothers and husband ALL race cars.
Fantastic to see it out doing its thing. Engine looks like it is pushing you along nicely and that noise sounds great and so incongruous inside a Porsche! Looking forward to seeing more!
Sounds glorious. Teething troubles are to be expected, I am sure you'll get it sorted soon enough.
Love that Spike has a Laguna Seca jacket! Great track. My wife gets car sick, so has never really experienced driving on the track. She will ride in my 996, but I have behave!
Hearing Mrs. Jeff say "I don't get it" was oddly refreshing, as my wife feels the same way. She is super supportive, but doesn't get it.
Congratulations on getting to the track.
Ohhh Mrs Jeff. I love that you don't get it. 😂 A to B with a reason 👍
Round in circles?? Why?
👍👍👍Perfect 👌
she might like rallying?
Definitely great to get things sorted at the track on a play day. I will say she sounds good!
I'm more surprised you forgot your Hans device after only one session, In al the videos you do go on about safety, as well as being a fireman, I've felt in rally racing them save me, Please mate don't go forgetting it.
Keep it up.
You have way more patience than i do. I would have packed up after the first session! Lol
The engine was ok, thats a WIN! Mrs Jeff went for a day at the track, another win! Now you have things to fix, ( always see that as a win too!)
The sound is addictive, Jeff.. awesome..😂
Love track days. Got a couple coming up. Keep tinkering with it, that’s what it’s all about.
Great Jeff, if that was a road going car all those problems would have been sorted prior to getting to the track. Unfortunately its not a road going car therefore all the sorting has to be done at track. Your next visit will be a rewarding drive for sure. Thanks for the video.
Spose Jeff, Thats the beauty of a shake down like this. Annoying, but needed. Thanks for sharing.
The hard stuff (engine swap, cooling, etc) seems to be working great! The rest should be relatively easy to sort.
Brake and gearbox issues = more RUclips content.
Great job and you made the car work.
I understand Mrs. J perfectly. Not everyone is built for trackdays. Some are build for road trips, or cruising.
Jeff it’s not just that you need the third radiator but the cooling tubes going back to the engine are considerably smaller than the S model. You need to find a salvage car and get the complete system to make it work properly. Good vid
This is so exciting. The last mile of making Roxstar an actual Rockstar💪
I like that 👍👍👍
That track looked like a fun one! Yes, a bit of work to do...for the paint, may I suggest a wrap job instead. The graphics you could do would look fantastic.
Great video, less of a trackday, more of a test day
Its a win, you have a list of potential jobs!
The car sound great and I looking forward to solving the issues. I thinks on this car it would be great to see some of your air brush art work .
I’m sure you could come up with something funky .
Always these final niggles. Looking forward to the painting!
It is close ;)
Yes, what colours are you looking at Jeff?
Don't paint it. It's a patina build 😆
Shakedown day. Finding all the things that work and those that behave in an unexpected manner. It worked really well considering. You should be really pleased. Great project. As for Mrs Jeff not understanding performance driving she is definitely not alone. Many are of the same opinion. Why do people bother? BUT once they get behind the wheel things change I have noticed. As a side observation lot of people as passengers become nauseous as soon as the Gs come on. She didn't at all. Full marks. I really like the Boxster and Alfa projects as they most interesting, entertaining and satisfying. Cheers.
Ty for the shakedown video. 😊
There’s a few things to work on, but the Audi v8 sounds sweet!
Mrs Jeff might get it if she has a good crack behind the wheel!
It shall be done! It sounded the part even though is didn't make scratch in others. Maybe you should try being the "passenger/tutor" and see if you can talk Ms. J into some spirited driving. It can only get better from here!
LOL, "I don't get it". Clearly, Spike didn't scare her enough to get the adrenaline flowing. Maybe he should take the child seat out and he'll go harder 🤣
It was great to see the Roxstar on the track. Yes it had some issues but you had a good time. You know what it needs to be bone. Can’t wait to see it back out on the track better than ever.
I would say it’s a great result. Sounds awesome and not to many problems.
This is my favorite of your projects! I hope you do a lot more with it.
.....you know this just gives us more content on this project. Yes, a Win! Better each time you take it out.... Thanks for bringing us with you for the day.
BIG WIN!! 👍.. how many OEM cars on the track barely make it and break down all the time? You have done a fantastic job! Congrats👍
If is pas fluid you may need a cooler. We had a similar issue with a Volvo saloon we raced. The installation was very tight and heat just soaked into the system and it overflowed out of the top of the reservoir. We tried running a lower fluid level but that gave other issues, even tried a larger reservoir but it still did the same- the oil was actually boiling!
Mrs Jeff is right roundy roundys and straight lines dull.. she needs dirt rally!! real driving :)
Good result. No deal breakers.
love your mate's track day car with the baby seat still in the back ;)
Is that a future T shirt? It's a Roxster thing? Good to see it in action after all the work so far.
Cara voce e ninja parabéns 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
did you have fun on the track?......even with the faults a big win
Just get a wrap done Jeff, one day in and out, and if you rub the wall or a stack of tyres, you can just wrap it again.
Sounds good on the noisy pedal. Little niggles will are why we test luckily you caught some of them. Powersteering fluid leaks are scary as they can cause big fires quickly. But keep it up mate it's going to be a ripper when finished and dialed.
Well, the silver lining is there will be many more "Fix the Roxster" videos in the future 😃. At least you now have an idea of what to fix and change and that is what track testing is for. Glad to see no injuries (other than to the car). Looking at Mrs. Jeff going around the track with the pro driver reminded me of what happened with the wife of a friend of mine. He is a multiple Ferrari owner and was doing a Ferrari driver training course. One of the things they offered for the spouses was a ride around the track in a semi-race Ferrari with a pro driver. The pro driver this day had just won Le Mans and as my friend said, the video of his wife was a constant barrage of "Oh Sh**t" around the track. His wife was a good sport about it, and glad to see Mrs. Jeff enjoyed her ride.
I'm with Mrs Jeff, I'm a bike guy I love playing in the twisties & I'm told I'm one of the fast boys I've done a couple of track days I just found it boring it lacked the fun and challenge of of a good twistie road.
Mrs Jeff is on the money I don’t get it either. Rather watch Jeff’s amazing fabrication talents.
Oh Misses Jeff well its ok we all have our cup of different tea... but its lovely she supports your hobby and life style , some people (most my family memebers) just dont get it there for i rearly see them , nearing my 50s i know what makes me happy and what type of exeriances i like to creat for my self , living and breathing as one does ,fabritation ,cars, motorcycles thinking outside the box to achive my personal results and just the whole lifestyle on what i like to call GreatMotoring
On another note me aswell having multiple engaging cars theres always the troublesome one in the stall lol but Roxter seems like it will be great ones dialed in sounds good
Mrs Jeff….’I just don’t get it’ well she’s honest! Well done for getting it out after the swap, 👍
You need to take Mrs. Jeff to the go cart track, then I think she might get it.
G'day Jeff,
It's all part of building and modifying a car. But I reckon the Roxter still has potential to be a great track car.
So thanks for sharing ✌️ Peace from Melbourne/Pakenham.
I love that! ,,,"I don't get it" 😀 With a huge interest and fascination with all things mechanical, engines, camshafts, inlet manifold, carburators or injection, V8 engine, flat six, big tourqe engine or small high revving ,screaming engine, "long inlet manifold for high rpm power, or short for low down power, brakes, dubbel wishbone suspension, trailing arms, multi link , coilovers, center of gravity, styling, sounds, smell's. All these things and more, in the mind of a "gear head" . But I love Mrs Jeff's so honest and charming if I may say exlamation! : don't get it!" Perhaps giving us gear heads, me includes, a little balance. 😄
Great video! Have a nice week! 🙂
That noise is pretty awesome though.
shakedown issues. normal.
next time will be great
Great sound track btw
Interesting trivia for Mrs Jeff....a GR Yaris in Indonesia will set you back $80,000+.😁
I'll even ship mine there for $70k 😁
I was the GR driver at the track.
Gee, it sounds good though doesn’t it!
That it does :D
Sounds good
Mrs Jeff, don't get it?
(Tongue and Cheek!), but she sure looks good doing it!! You Guy's are a Great Couple, I'm glad Jeff, i found your channel! Dean( Soul) Toronto Canada
“ I just don’t get it , why?”
All racing now cancelled and in its place worldwide Fun facts with Mrs.Jeff wearing that crash helmet .
Ratings will soar and more household “ shared” chores will be done 😂
Congrats Jeff..... not many can boast building their dream car 😂😂😂🎉🎉
Jeffro…. Great to see the Rocksta and you get out and have a crack. Look forward to more on the Porsche.
Mrs Jeff “I Don’t Get It” 😂😂😂
Sounded SO good, except for the shifts 😁
Brakes and gears working as they should and you have a good package, car sounds great so everything else is a minor issue…..🤦🏼♂️
"So you're basically driving in circles. I don't get the point." 😂😂😂 She is not wrong.
Good to see you get a few laps in Jeff.
Clearly there are some issues to address so now you can enjoy dialling the car in to just how you want it.
Any idea on what colour scheme it'll wear when you get round to painting it?
I know you love painting - and have skills.
How about a Manga paint job ?! hmmmm especially for a track car
That's a win any any book. Going on the painting, you seem to have gone with nice base colours. Orange, blue, yellow, Frankehauler you've mocked up a redish.
So for the Roxster, green. Boxter 718 green ... no ?
"I don't get it" - Mrs. Jeff............. ROFL, as that's the best quote yet 🙂
Ok. Suboptimal on its first day out. But it was only day 1, after all, and boy does it sound good!
Clear taillights, like the newer 911s, might look nice. Can’t wait to see what crazy special color scheme you make for the Rockster!
I have plans :D
I went for a ride along in a NASCAR. I didn't get it either. At least from the passenger seat. Had a drive of an AusCar on the same day, that was cool. Point is, Mrs Jeff should have a drive, maybe of the GR Yaris?
Let me think about that 🤔
I understand Mrs. Jeff totally.
She should try gravel rallying.
Sounds great Jeff. Mrs Rod agrees with Mrs Jeff, she doesn't get it😂😂😂.
Just a $5 tall light Jeff😁
The seat lacked lateral support and a harness would also be welcome for the passenger who doesn't have the steering wheel to hold on... bad experience!
Sounds tuff jeff tho
Is there a 1 way valve in the booster vacuum line off the engine?
Also, I remember from an early vid that the cable were really stretched to reach. Place at Milperra called Conwire could sort you out. Take your current ones and tell them how much longer you want them. and they'll remanufacture them.
It’s a win, shake down run. It will be much better next time out.
the taillights were not fixed..😂.there is still work to be done but it remains a beautiful car 🙂
😅 perfect Track Day. So you know what to do 😂🎉
You got the spray booth just spray it an exciting race colour!
Multi coloured waves with a white ceiling and orange wings???
Silver with a blend of gunmetal waves!
Metalwork the tail light gaps out, incorporating some basic dots in..
Silver... have you seen any of my videos ;)
lol. I have, however you should see silver as a all time mutual balance!
When you’re either undecided or in between..
@@TECsta76 Silver is the all time most boring colour
Funny Mrs Jeff is totally based. Yah, it's a nice car, but there's no reason to drive so fast. o0
Totally inexcusable, considering who she's married to but... there it is. She's just that honest. Respect.
Nice to see the dedicated track car FINALLY get some punishment. Looking forward to the car... welll....
at least the tires stay on.
When you reported that you had lost a tail light - and proceeded to the next track session - I was 'wondering' whether you had checked the fasteners on the remaining tail light or had at least added some duct tape to avoid another possible black flag event.
Hey up Jeff nice work, get the mrs behind the wheel
More patients than me 😂
I am not sure about that. I am not a Doctor either ;)
First test it really had, you would expect there still be issues to iron out, call that a success
I get it, mrs. Jeff's IQ is too high for racing, simple as that!! ❤❤❤Greetings from South Africa! 😂
