Ms. Chalice can really help you with Rumor Honeybottoms because the double jump will help you maneuver the platform gaps, her first super will also help you with the last stage and get her to almost no health. 4. For the last stage on the Howling Aces the lazars have little dotted lines to help you see where they are going to end up, for when the screen turns you should turn your head with it because it helps you with the mixed up controls. finally the red bowls are plane leveled and you have to jump over them and the yellow bowls you have to duck under. 5. For the Gnome Giant geese sign go onto the platform that last went fully down because it will be the least likely to go back up. 6. For the twins in Hilda Burg stay in the middle of the screen longitude and the projectiles won't start on you there. 7. For the UFO's in Hilda Burg yellow UFO means stay back as it will shoot in front of you and red UFO means go in front as it will shoot when you are right below it. 8. Fun to see how other people think about the bosses. For me, the only real struggle I had on expert was Hilda Berg, Wally Warbles, Esther Winchester and Chef Saltbaker (still have not killed him). It's fun because I had real problems with Dr Kahl and Meduza on Regular, but on expert, it took me only like 15-20 tries to kill them. Not to talk about Matchstick which was super easy on expert. I did not use spread though so it may be harder with the spread. I kind of used crackshot and Chalice most of the time.

i think my best tip for fighting bosses in cuphead is try finding patterns and take advantage of them, for example, the positioning of the seeds in cagney carnation is not random, there are 4 set patterns, so just try memorizing them and parrying the pink seed and it becomes waaaaaay easier
28:30- the orb always starts shooting at the 12 and 6 position and spins clockwise or counterclockwise. This gives you a minimum of 45 degrees worth of spin to react to the attack if you position yourself to the immediate left of the orb every time. If you are lucky it turns toward Hilda and you get an additional 180 degrees. Fun mechanic.
As someone who 900% caphead with S and P ranks on all of the bosses and all of the filters I agree with most of the tier list except for calamaria which I think we should be hier on the list and moonshine mob, glumstone the giant and ester wind chester wich should be lower
That help me you just said at the hollowing aces are HALARIOUS! Also, did you know that there is a secret phase that’s easier then the 90 degrees flipping? Here’s how to get to it: at phase 2: attack all of the puppies until they reached grey smoke. Then, the plane will come more early, and then, you gotta fight both the mother dog, and the 4 pups.
I got Grim Matchstick on expert on my first try and honestly think that it’s a pretty easy boss fight. The only difficult part of the fight is the first phase because you’re moving backwards. But the last two phases are very easy especially with the lobber.
@@jcoolguy1548 in the second way you just gotta be careful to the sounds. In the exact moment you hear the flames laugh, jump a bit to the left. Guarantee you will never get hit
@@MunchyLikesOtters round a bount can work with the first two phases but I just rather more consistent shots and round a bount is a bit more akward to work with the arena's design but that me
@@MunchyLikesOtters I put simply yeah it can work wonder but keep in mind that when I played cuphead I played the main game before the DLC so crack was out of the options so I take my approach as use the weapon of the main game in the main and the DLC weapon on the DLC again it was from the times I was on cuphead
I feel like the big mistake was using only Spread, Chaser, and Peashooter for this. It's fine if you prefer this, but in most cases, these weapons are all very situational, especially peashooter, which isn't really too useful for these bosses. Using all of the weapons is crucial sometimes. Most bosses have weapons that destroy them, while others are pretty bad. I would mostly use Roundabout and Crackshot, as they are both very versatile and still somewhat home in on the bosses. Spreadshot and Peashooter will both have you struggling to hit bosses, especially ones that move. Spread is good for some fights, but I would just stay away from peashooter as it is pretty similar to some other weapons, just worse. Chaser is also versatile, but is very weak, and isn't great for some fights. But Roundabout and Spread aren't perfect, and some bosses have weapons that feel almost mandatory for killing them. Also, you can use charge for all of the bosses and be fine, but it can still be hard to use. If you need it, here are some weapons that you may or may not want to use for specific fights: Root Pack: Doesn't matter too much, but I would recommend Spread/Roundabout. Goopy: Chaser/Roundabout. Also doesn't matter, but don't use Lobber. Ribby & Croaks: Just don't use Lobber, and for the love of god don't use spread for the final phase. Cagney: DO NOT USE LOBBER Bon Bon: Don't use Spread or Lobber, anything else is fine. Beppi: Spread/Roundabout. Again, Lobber is a mistake here. Grim Matchstick: LOBBER IS COMPLETELY MANDATORY. Otherwise, doesn't matter. Rumor: Lobber/Chaser. Don't use Peashooter in general, but especially don't use it here. Also DEFINITELY DO NOT USE TWIST UP. Brineybeard: Lobber = Bad. Twist Up is definitely the way to go, but any homing weapon also works. Werner Werman: Anything works. Sally Stageplay: Make sure you have Twist Up/Crackshot/Chaser for the last phase. Besides that, doesn't matter. Phantom Express: Lobber is useless, Twist Up is good. But anything else works. King Dice: Differs depending on the mini bosses, but anything works in general. Devil: idk. I don't know the DLC bosses as well, but here is some maybe tips anyways: Glumstone: Use chaser/crackshot for the last phase. Otherwise, doesn't matter. Mortimer Freeze: Twist Up/Chaser/Crackshot for first phase, doesn't matter otherwise. Moonshine Mob: idk, just use crackshot/chaser for the last phase. Howling Aces: idk, just don't use lobber.
Wally Warbles is INSANELY hard. I’ve been playing the game for years and only recently was able to beat him on expert, if you don’t care about s-rank then he might be easy but he is one of the hardest s-rank bosses.
For Mortimer I recommend crackshot and ms chalice bc the first phase you don’t have to worry about the minions since crackshot takes care of them and the second phase ms chalice has the double jump and invincibility roll for when he rolls after you and the third phase is very easy bc you have the double jump for ms chalice.
I managed to S Rank Chef Saltbaker And it took me a whole 3 DAYS TO S RANK Mainly the fact that his first phase is really hard having to constantly keep track of the ingredients he shoots at you (In my run the hardest things to avoid in the first phase were the Lime, Animal Crackers and Fireballs) but lord please if you had full health and made it through the first phase his second phase can easily wipe you out since he throws out 2x as more chives at you and the peppers sneeze constantly and more faster than normal difficulty His third phase was pretty easy to deal with But his final phase had me shaking until I managed to S Rank him today Needless to say Chef Saltbaker was probably the hardest boss in all of cuphead and in my opinion He is more harder than Grim Matchstick
Back in 2017 when i was younger, Dr Kahl took me so many tries, but when i did my expert play through i did it 2nd try. Fascinating how games like this can differ
Quick answer: Chef saltbaker Also, the worst bosses of king dice are the horse racing horse and the dominos. The cigarette has a very easy pattern to follow, similar to Captain Briney beard's ship attack but slower. Wally Warbles was the last and hardest boss I beat on expert in the main game. Djimmi's hardest phase is the first tbh. Esther Winchester was extremely hard and I say it is at the same level as Dr. Kahl's robot as there is a ton going towards you at the same time, while Dr. Kahl's robot has 80% no coming near you on his last phase. Bro Grim Matchstick is one of the easiest expert bosses excluding the first ones because, for the 2nd and 3rd phases which are hard to get damage on, you face toward the boss meaning that you can just use lobber for most of the round. Not to mention how easy the second phase is, just look at the positioning of the fireballs and dodge. The 3rd phase is eh since you can also descend clouds and using the lobber minimizes the amount of fire you will split. Regular mode isn't too bad either unless you are laying for the first time, the best loadout for it is just roundabout and lobber. Captain Brineybeard was my 3rd S-rank because you can still dash during the laser and still be ducking even without the smoke bomb which is how I learned how a dash is still a duck if you are ducking. Also, IT IS A JAWBREAKER ON BARONESS VON BON BON AAAAA. The moonshine mob was pretty hard but you can easily see the minions in the background. The hardest thing about the moonshine mob was how long it usually takes on expert mode. The only problem I had with Hilda Berg was actually S-ranking her because of the laser. The ufos aren't too bad because the brown ones shoot early and the red ones shoot later making it kind of ok not easy but you can still get through it with higher amounts of health. Dr. Kahl's robot's first phase depends on what order you go in. Like why would you take out the bottom first? Before anything else, you would have to dodge the bombs with a giant explosion radius. And then you went worse to do the middle next meaning that the bombs could go after you while a hand splits the screen in half while a giant laser is shot at you. The best thing to do is go up to the boss at the start and lob bomb him destroying the laser before it hits you. The scraps are not too hard to dodge. Then you go to the middle. It won't matter if it splits the screen because you only need to shoot the bottom now. The bottom going out last makes it a minimal amount of bombs which simplifies the boss. Also, you should always use the small plane in some intervals of the magnet. After you take out the heart, all you do is lob bombs on the boss when it is at the bottom, and also bomb the bombs. In the last phase, you NEED to use the small plane most of the time, especially when going over or under the laser walls. Then you beat the hardest MAIN GAME boss. I did it with full health but it took too long. Mortimer freeze has two annoying things, popsicles, and the ice cream cones on the last phase, everything else isn't too bad since you can just jump and dash over the spikes without or with a smoke bomb, you can also just shoot up with a crack shot to take care of most of the popsicles when he is about to shoot them out. Now with Chef Saltbaker, I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO SAY. Except that the leaves are actually the pineapple mints. I just wanted to share some stuff and some tips.
31:29 Dr Kahl’s Gem bullets or whatever is not random, Blue shoots with a swirling pattern and Red shoots with a bursting pattern that always alternates with the two same blast types
I’m definitely late to this, but after 300%ing the game earlier tonight, I just wanted to say that I loved this video. One thing that I’ll say is that this tier list would probably be completely different if you’re trying to S rank all the bosses as opposed to just beating them on expert

The spread shot is actually more niche than you would think as, more often than not, only 2-3 pellets are hitting the boss while the rest are going into the ground.
1. You should used crackshot, like get rid of chaser and use crackshot, it makes this a lot of these easier. Like Cagney Carnation in expert is a joke since crackshot just hits all the smaller targets. 2. 8:06 this guy really used the invincibility charm on Pirouetta when you just gotta smoke bomb through her over and over.
The Gemini twins laser in the Hilda Berg fight will always start vertically, rotating clockwise or anti-clockwise (I believe they alternate. Also the second one is Sagittarius
For the Moonshine Mob’s second stage, an alternative for Cuphead and Mugman’s smoke dash is Chalice’s invincibility roll, just roll right through those rays-
@@jcoolguy1548 for me Mortimer freeze I actually get a almost perfect performance only the floating laser eyeball is the only tough part of the fight for me.
There is a glitch in the chef saltbaker boss fight where if he tries to use the same attack on both sides of the counter he gets stuck in place and the rest is very easy because he doesn't do anything if that doesn't do that its very hard boss.
That was a bug for all the dlc bosses. It happened to me on Esther Winchester. I was being an idiot and died because I thought that the level wasn't progressing and I was stuck there. When I died I was really close to the end of the boss. I had to sit through a few more tries lmao. They've patched that big now though
Idk if anyone has said this already but I really wanna say this. For the Dogs, there is (R-Control:A) And (R-Control:B) Which makes it so you can just go based off of how the screen is instead of the controls being all weird. Now I like to use (R-Control:A) because Im used to it now, but (R-Control:B) allows you to press up to go up even in the sideways area. Just thought Id let you know incase you didnt already. Tho this video was posted 9 months ago so idk.
Also a few other things, They are popsicles not bats, Im sure you know that by now but I thought Id let you know. Also am I going crazy or did this guy not parry once?
16:29 actually you can move when you are crouched, i found out that if you are crouching you can dash and not take any damage as it will register you still being crouched
Funny thing, this guy lost to djimmi with the 9 health (djimmi’s wishes) because he gets the death quote that says like : you stupid cups could not beat me, even with my wishes three. So yeah.
So, quite literally, Goopy's name literally means in french ''Goopy The Tall'' In the femenine tone (except for le, which is masculine), which is quite strange considering the fact that the game's death messages (I'm fairly sure) depict Goopy as a more masculine character. This basically suggests that goopy is a genderless blob.
I think if you were gonna rank the kings leap bosses together it probably would’ve made more sense to just rank the gauntlet instead of viewing them individually
I think a lot of these fights you would have had a much easier time with the roundabout. The roundabout does a surprisingly good amount of damage and has longer range and you don't neceessarily need to be facing the enemy to do damage. If you had the divine relic also that would be a complete upgrade from smoke dash.
For Hilda Berg it is easy to predict when the UFO’s are going to shoot their lasers. Red shoots it on top of you so go under it quickly and Yellow/Brown shoots in front of you so try to bait it out and move back.
The ufos are easy, it’s the stars that got me
Also, for the twins, the laser never spawns to the left or right. Just don’t do over the orb when it’s spawning and you’re fine.
Thanks but it was too late for me.. it took me 3 hours to beat her on S rank
And now finally I finished every single boss on S rank included dlc

2) 😱 Mortimer Freeze 32:18
1) ☠️ CHEF SALTBAKER 34:00
Now it's time to do the video again but if you only play as Ms. Challice
Cuphead is the perfect balance of difficultly and fun so it’s not tedious or white knuckle hard
It’s the perfect, “ One more try” game
@@thepenguinboi8679 yeah the amount of times I wanted to take a break but convincing myself how close I was to beating a boss or run n’ gun stage, then I basically pass out because I tried too many times
Ikr. Like it makes me want to try again and again and again every time I lose
Here's my ranking of the main game bosses on expert
19. Root Pack
18. Goopy
17. Cagney
16. Ribby and Croaks
15. Sally Stageplay
14. Werner Werman
13. Brineybeard
12. Baroness Von Bon Bon
11. Beppi the Clown
10. Djimmy the Great
9. Phantom Express
8. Hilda Berg
7. Rumor Honeybottoms
6. The Devil
5. King Dice
4. Cala Maria
3. Grim Matchstick
2. Wally Warbles
1. Dr Kahl's Robot
*Djimmi
And he should be higher, considering he’s harder than The Iron Giant.
This is about the same for me. But sadly ribby and croaks was a lot harder for me, besides that I wouldn't change anything
Wally Warbles on expert is just insane…
Yes i agree, i was shock how low he put him 💀
i think my best tip for fighting bosses in cuphead is try finding patterns and take advantage of them, for example, the positioning of the seeds in cagney carnation is not random, there are 4 set patterns, so just try memorizing them and parrying the pink seed and it becomes waaaaaay easier
I am pretty happy to see you make a Cuphead video. I don’t see many on your channel
I got Grim Matchstick on expert on my first try and honestly think that it’s a pretty easy boss fight. The only difficult part of the fight is the first phase because you’re moving backwards. But the last two phases are very easy especially with the lobber.
Exactly why do people hate is so much
The first phase isn't hard for me. The second phase is what really gave me the most problems.
I agree, to me it was one of the easiest bosses
@@jcoolguy1548 in the second way you just gotta be careful to the sounds. In the exact moment you hear the flames laugh, jump a bit to the left. Guarantee you will never get hit
@@leandro8936 crack shot makes the phase 1 much shorter
For honey bottom I recommend to use automatic parry or healing parry and for shots use lobber and chaser
Not chaser. The attacks follow almost everything! Just use round-a-bount
@@MunchyLikesOtters round a bount can work with the first two phases but I just rather more consistent shots and round a bount is a bit more akward to work with the arena's design but that me
@@theenderkirby Just use crakshot, it works better on phase 2
@@MunchyLikesOtters I put simply yeah it can work wonder but keep in mind that when I played cuphead I played the main game before the DLC so crack was out of the options so I take my approach as use the weapon of the main game in the main and the DLC weapon on the DLC again it was from the times I was on cuphead
For her final phase attack her right as the phase begins with an energy beam and then just use chaser or crack shot and she’ll be down in seconds
If you need it, here are some weapons that you may or may not want to use for specific fights:
Root Pack: Doesn't matter too much, but I would recommend Spread/Roundabout.
Goopy: Chaser/Roundabout. Also doesn't matter, but don't use Lobber.
Ribby & Croaks: Just don't use Lobber, and for the love of god don't use spread for the final phase.
Cagney: DO NOT USE LOBBER
Bon Bon: Don't use Spread or Lobber, anything else is fine.
Devil: idk.
I don't know the DLC bosses as well, but here is some maybe tips anyways:
Glumstone: Use chaser/crackshot for the last phase.
He is literallly harder than dr kahls robot on expert
@@Le_gamer_boi
and djimmi is harder than wally
@@catalyst539 Nah
@@Le_gamer_boi
don’t think so huh?
try s-ranking djimmi, then you gon’ turn that opinion on it’s head
@@catalyst539 I am talking about beating on expert, haven't tried to s-rank yet
You don’t wanna see how hilarious Streamers on Howling Aces turning screen, they’re turning their screens too lmao.
Quick answer: Chef saltbaker
Also, the worst bosses of king dice are the horse racing horse and the dominos.
7:12 I don’t know why but I find it funny when he said “ugghh” no idea why.
it’s kinda cool watching peoples cuphead tier lists and seeing everyone else’s perspectives
Im glad someone agrees with me on Kahls robot.
Very surprised about Wally Warbles' position 🤔
When all of the Cuphead "pros" are afraid of using chaser 😰
King dice in my opinion is the hardest boss well unless you rank the mini bosses individually.
My Ranking For Main Game Bosses

16) Werner Werman

1) Dr. Kahl's Robot
Those two heads spewing lightning are based around the common monster described months of them being smiles and sometimes they’re just slipping faces and long poles that can feel strong cheese and skin like
Lol the robot 3rd phase is one of the easiest for me pattern is always the same.
I feel like he forgot about roundabout.
After beating the cow on expert, it took me just the just try to beat it in normal with an A+.
Can i just say, I beat the game with ease but glumstone stage 2 😤
I only heard you talk about the Kirby Games,
yet this is cool....
It's so nice to see you using the same setup I do, this ranking will likely be similar to how I feel considering we use the same exact weapons
Fun fact hilda berg last faze's UFO's are easy red goes after you pass and brown goes before
Hilda berg was easy ngl … a lot easier I found my self spending more time on the dam garden pack
@@unknownastroid_2240 my first play though Was difficult with Hillda berg But lately I been lucky enough to beat her
I know your pain on the cupcake. Like literally when I got it in the boss fight every time I jumped to the candy rapper it hit me
Nin10doland: "You can parry off of him, but he's like invulnerable once you parry."
Also his background footage of him parrying him moments before he's killed: 35:48
In his defense it’s a lot harder to see the flashes from damage when the heart is clear
Rank them from worst to best
Saltbaker’s 3rd phase is the remnants of him. When you finish phase 2, his glass breaks, so that’s why there’s salt everywhere in phase 3.
Gonna be honest the hardest cuphead boss is the king card boss. :kappa.
The spread shot is actually more niche than you would think as, more often than not, only 2-3 pellets are hitting the boss while the rest are going into the ground.
True a lot of ppl do use the spread shot I don’t . I use round about a lot and the charge shot.. the charge shot is amazing for ppl with good aim.
The red ufo’s shoot the beam as soon as your under them, and the brown-ish yellow ones shoot right before your under them.
The Gemini twins laser in the Hilda Berg fight will always start vertically, rotating clockwise or anti-clockwise (I believe they alternate. Also the second one is Sagittarius
Fun fact: when you are ducked/crouched, you can still dash to the sides
For the Moonshine Mob’s second stage, an alternative for Cuphead and Mugman’s smoke dash is Chalice’s invincibility roll, just roll right through those rays-
That's how I did it. It made the boss easy for me
@@jcoolguy1548 for me Mortimer freeze I actually get a almost perfect performance only the floating laser eyeball is the only tough part of the fight for me.
Just beat salt baker on expert, took some time but so satisfying
Honestly, it's gotta be Dr. Kahl. I fricking hate him.
on regular yes
on expert no
17:25
"The worst one without a shadow of doubt is this stupid cupcake"
Ahem
There is a glitch in the chef saltbaker boss fight where if he tries to use the same attack on both sides of the counter he gets stuck in place and the rest is very easy because he doesn't do anything if that doesn't do that its very hard boss.
That was a bug for all the dlc bosses. It happened to me on Esther Winchester. I was being an idiot and died because I thought that the level wasn't progressing and I was stuck there. When I died I was really close to the end of the boss. I had to sit through a few more tries lmao. They've patched that big now though
The pawns boss battle can actually be cheesed by jumping up the to the very top of the screen and parry off their heads.
says saltbaker's soul is invulnerable when parried, clip contradicts very statement when he KOed the soul after parry
Fun Fact: Werner's cat mech is called Catzenwagon (did I spell that right? Probably not)
I agree with the number 1 spot but every thing else I complete desigree
Hardest Bosses For Me:
1 - Moonshine Mob
2 - Dr. Kahls Robot
3 - Wally Warbles
4 - Cala Maria
5 - Chef Saltbaker
6 - One HeCK Of A Dream
The dragon is a joke with lobber.
Most of your issues with bosses come from your limited load out.
Great vid!
cala maria took me a whole DAY even with 2 players AND 6\8 hearts!!!
Honestly I watched this just to see if I was trash, I was trying SO hard on Ribby and Croaks and died a whole lot, guess I’m not as bad as I thought
16:29 actually you can move when you are crouched, i found out that if you are crouching you can dash and not take any damage as it will register you still being crouched
The gauntlet is meant to be played as Chalice, same with the rest of dlc bosses
20:15 lol he was going to put that joke!
Fun fact you can change the controls for the howling aces boss fight
Great! Now S Rank them
Funny thing, this guy lost to djimmi with the 9 health (djimmi’s wishes) because he gets the death quote that says like : you stupid cups could not beat me, even with my wishes three. So yeah.
Also the time that this happens is 14:16
So, quite literally, Goopy's name literally means in french ''Goopy The Tall'' In the femenine tone (except for le, which is masculine), which is quite strange considering the fact that the game's death messages (I'm fairly sure) depict Goopy as a more masculine character. This basically suggests that goopy is a genderless blob.
thank you for this video! i absolutely love this game😃
great video pro
I think if you were gonna rank the kings leap bosses together it probably would’ve made more sense to just rank the gauntlet instead of viewing them individually
Dr Kal’s robot oh my god was that traumatic!
Anybody notice that Nin10doland called beans “sausages” in the Esther Winchester fight?
Whilst not easy, defeating Chef Saltbaker wasn't as difficilt as I expected.
I ,for some reason, only had problems with phase 3 in salt baker.
Expert Mode Baroness Von Bon Bon killed me for the first time and ended my 177% no death run I wanted 225% or more If possible
I think a lot of these fights you would have had a much easier time with the roundabout. The roundabout does a surprisingly good amount of damage and has longer range and you don't neceessarily need to be facing the enemy to do damage. If you had the divine relic also that would be a complete upgrade from smoke dash.
yeah spread is good but only for certain bosses and chaser gets outclassed by crackshot by a lot of
Did you know if you pause dream buffet at the chocolate the bottom left corner will spawn a dice
You should've used crackshot instead of chaser and peashooter, crackshot Is goated 🐐
my man used spread for grim matchstick
Pea shooter/chaser is ok but rolling with spread the entire time isn’t a good idea I’d prefer crackshpt maybe or converge shot

it’s actually pacman
@@catalyst539 ues i know tbats pac-man the but candy he is, is a jaw brecker
