The Main Character remarks that he actually admires it, and thinks that it has a future in Music, only to be told from his friend group that while he's a good friend, he's "Not good enough to Rock N' Roll". The video then jumps to 2004, with our Main Character in that same Garage building a Concert Venue, and various Set Pieces that he fills with Rock-stars and various Celebrities, much to the apparent dismay of his significant other, who appears to take care of him in a childlike manner. As the Set Pieces play out, the Garage door opens, to which it is apparently revealed that the group of kids from 1987 are the members of Hoobastank themselves in present day. The band and the Main Character all preform together one final time, each with their own instruments including the Triangle, with cuts from the actual band members to their childlike versions, all congratulating the Main Character while crowding around him. The video abruptly ends with the Main Character alone in the Garage, Abandoned for his inability to move on, and Consumed by his Fantasies. Tying the theme of the song "Same Direction" to the Video. _________ It's kinda depressing the way the video shows it, but Hoobastank makes a great point: Don't let your past define your future, regardless of how bad or good it was. Learn to Move on for yourself. This version beats "The Sequel" Video BY A MILE.
I love Hoobastank so much!!!!!! They're have been my #1 band ever since I was 4 in 2004. I saw them in 95X fest in 2015 and I'm so happy I got to meet the band!!!! Hope I can see them again!

However, MY personal interpretation of the lyrics boils down to: Stop worrying about what you did or didn't do, because we're all going to die anyways. I feel this is perfectly represented in the song's chorus: "I'm not ever gonna know If I'm right or wrong 'Cause we're all going in the same direction"
Honestly, this makes The Reason's video better too when you think about it. Sometimes the Villains win and that's how it is, there doesn't need to be an unnecessary sequel where you rehash clips. Same Direction gets to be its own thing here while staying true to the song's message, and that's cool.
