Also, I've spent much time in Italy and have know, lived with and had Italian friends. In some, particularly those from the north, I've personally seen an 'I'm better than you because of... your skin colour ...your economic staus ....the area of Italy/the world you're from' attitude amongst a 'fair few people' (pun intended). It seems to be part of how they derive self-esteem for themselves, which is clearly quite a dysfunctional personality trait, in my opinion. However most other Italians I've known, particularly from the south, have been amazing beautiful intelligent and wonderfully creative good hearted people. We get dysfunctional people everywhere in the world and sometimes our cultures determine how these dysfunctions present themselves within a personality.

The Italian Federation spokesperson was not only racist, but also knowingly ignoring sports history on purpose to paint racism as a 'trend'. I remember that, during the times of the defunct GDR doping program, Eastern European 'elegant' gymnasts looked 10 times more muscular than Biles or any other 'athlete of color'. They very seldom won anything beyond vault, and no technical element was named after any of them, because they were not good at gymnastics, just artificially strong. Gymnastics scoring system grades exercises according to difficulty degree, elements are described in detail, listing how the execution should be and what mistakes get what penalties. If anybody performs an exercise exactly how the book says, judges should give it the corresponding high score; unless judges are biased, color doesn't play any role

She was stunningly beautiful and they gave that girl grief. She called them out at the Miss Universe pagent during the question and answer segment. I think she placed 4th in the overall competition.

Some have trained harder than Simone, yet they'll never reach her ability. No, she definitely has unique, innate talents that excel with her training, determination, and efforts. None of it is by accident.

Actually it was both. There's a reason why Melanin is the most expensive commodity in the world. Platinum sells for about $35 per gram. Melanin is $450 a gram. Black peoples skin alone is worth millions. Melanin creates fast twitch muscle fibers that white athletes don't have. That's why Black people are physically capable of more during high impact sports & sports that involve running. It also helps many other things. Like brain power for example. Skeleton rigidity. That's why you RARELY see black people with horrible arthritis or osteoporosis.

Honestly? I think the publicist was talking about body types. Simone is stocky and dense. Her legs go BOOM! I’m sure the girl speaking looks lithe like a typical ballerina, which is pretty, but maybe not strong enough to achieve the same feats 🤷🏾♀️ if trends in gymnastics are favoring a different aesthetic, it’s no difference than times in the past when thicker athletes didn’t fit the aesthetic.
Eastern Europeans have dominated gymnastics for many years historically. The reality is that Simone has worked very hard to become the best gymnast in history, a badge well deserved. It is people like her who challenge the boundaries of what is possible. Love Simone!
this has nothing to do with that particular gymnast as well as the other one involved but not mentioned here (Ferrari is her last name) as they were never associated with elegance or dominance in the field. Commenting as if the italian girls were representing classical elegance of Eastern Europe is ridiculous. They were short themselves, quite squared, nothing elegant or outstandingly artistic .

The difference is Simone can replicate and surpass the “elegance” of the Eastern European gymnasts. But none of them can touch her power. Wether they “paint their skin black” or not.

I would tend to agree tho in regards to the concept of how they attempt to award points in an objective form in gymnastics. Do a perfect triple back flip? idk. I imagine that awards many points.
