- "Of the 100 Grateful Dead shows I attended, I’ve always considered July 4, 1989 a Top 3. Both sets were filled with standout, highlight, A+ Grateful Dead performances, and one of the best moments of a great first set was this magnificent Walkin’ Blues. When the Dead were producing Without A Net a year later, this version was given serious consideration for inclusion on that live album." -David Lemieux

Will you come with me? Won't you come with me? There's no better place to take a long strange trip with the Grateful Dead than right here. We've got music from every single studio album and a bevy of live albums, to boot. There are celebrated live performances from the 70s and 80s and official videos with more skeletons than you can shake your bones at, an exclusive seaside series on what's to come from the band's rich catalog and details on meet-ups all across the promised land. If it's community you’re after, try your hand at our yearly DEAD COVERS PROJECT competition and connect with fellow Dead Heads around the world. Heck, keep your eyes peeled you might even catch a glimpse of Pigpen on keys, Jerry in a GROOVE, Bobby tellin' tales, Mickey talkin' space, Phil and friends, Bill on the beach, or anyone from our extended family.
It's all happenin' right here. Subscribe and you won't miss a thing.

I love that Brent has two photos of children, probably his daughters, on his keyboard. So very sad for his family and the world to lose him at such a young age. RIP.

Good for the Soul
Was at Foxboro, traded some coke for a couple Buffalo tix, this was a fun show and scene, met a guy with a nitrous tank in his van, door open, wouldnt sell any but let me and my girl elevate our trip for awhile off the gas in the lot, met some new friends, thanks Grateful Dead... oh, yeah, killer show.....
We are Grateful for these videos! 🌹 💀 🕊️
Bob is on f'n point here! There was actually a time in my life where I didn't dig his singing - and now he is in my top 5 ever.
12 out of 10 for sure
Today is Robert Johnson's birthday born in 1911 and this song was written approximately 1937... Classic!!! Hit it! Bobby!!!!
☮️👍🔥
unbelievable stuff.
7/12/89- best concert of summer
I have been watching these since 2019 and am so glad it’s still a thing! I only wish we could go back to getting a performance every week. Also, I want to do what Brent does because he makes it look so fun 🤩
Bob and Brent are on 🔥
One of my favs.
Can someone teach me this on slide?? So much swagger in this solo.
I was laying in bed yesterday and was thinking that I've never seen Walkin Blues footage

Don’t let em tell u walk-in blues ain’t bad. They know nothing.
I met Jerry at this show backstage. We hit it off and he offered to mentor me in my guitar playing pilgrimage. We became very close and he confided many of his deepest thoughts with me. Miss him very much!!! RIP Jerry my dear dear friend!!!
thanks for sharing this moving story Natch! wooooo!
ur welcome brother!!!
Yeah
He sent me a mix🌺💗🎈🆒🎵🎶🎵🎯🏡🏒
i have always hated people who have to say they were at 500 million shows and that makes them cooler than you. if you get it, you get it, end of discussion. ragin' show, but i get it. besides, it's like talking about religion, or money. just appreciate it is still around to enjoy
Of all the songs to pick, IDK why you picked the most generic of blues for this.
same day as Bob Dylan Tom Petty?
Dylan/ Petty was 86
@@jasonspeth1865 thanks i almost went looking for the ticket
@@torontorox anytime my friend. That 86 show was "Dead in the afternoon" The Wheel was broadcast live on CNN
@@jasonspeth1865 I like cats.
@@jasonspeth1865 we from Toronto had a better time across the border than their shows here. although i almost got clubbed by a cop on horseback for J walking. woo hoo!
This is okay if you've never heard real blues
Underrated comment but big facts! This is a jam and I do enjoy dead but this ain't no BB King that's for sure
