    was living in Mallorca, 1972,, drove all the way to London to see the Dead at the Lycium.. 3 nights in a row...tookma beer with Garcia at the Bar whilst the band kept playing on.. memorable..

    I was 11 or 12 had my record player in my room played this one song on repeat constantly out of the whole dead lp I had almost every 45 and lp but this was my favorite

    I sang this song to my daughter just about every day she was in her mother’s womb. Now shes 7 and occasionally will mention some songs “have a lot of music with not many words” shes a big fan

    Yes, it's an incredibly beautiful song. In all fairness, let's give a bit of credit to Felix Mendelssohn. That melody is straight out of his first piano concerto. But those lyrics belong to the G.D.

      @@shawnriffhard There's a beautiful performance that you can see here on RUclips by Kurt Masur and the Verbier Festival Orchestra with the wondrous Yuja Wang on the piano. In the slow movement (second movement) you'll definitely hear that theme.
