When I was growing up my mom would make Salmon Croquettes. I looked forward to those dinners. I'm 66 now and truly appreciate and miss my amazing parents. Thank you for bringing up wonderful memories. Celebrating Resurrection Sunday . He Lives💪🙏💕🐢🐝👏P.S. Delicious recipe 🎉
What did you coat them with? Cornmeal?
With rice, and peas!😋
Finally, someone who makes croquettes with potatoes the way my mom did when I was growing up. Looks delicious. Always love your recipes and tips.
Have you tried them baked? Takes the flavor to another level.
I drizzle mine with a little oil on my parchment paper and some on each pattie. I bake them in a 375 degree oven, 7 minutes, turn and bake for 4 or 5 more minutes.
Love your channel.😍
Thank you for this recipe. I forgot about these salmon patties. I have not eaten them in 65 years. When I was a child, my grandmother made them. I'm going to put them on my grocery list this week. Mmm!
Hello Pam! Im do glad Chef Jeffrey referred us to your channel. I love your teaching Spirit! The salmon croquettes look amazing. So crispy!! Fried to perfection. A side salad sounds good. Thank you for sharing. The creamy potatoes took them up a notch. Must try!!!

Delicious food 👍 happy Easter 🐰
Just had salmon patties for lunch yesterday. I too add onion and bell pepper. And I can't have salmon patties without pea sauce. That's how my mom always made them, so it was something I grew up with. It's just a basic white sauce (seasoned to your liking) and then adding in some frozen peas and warming them through. Spoon onto salmon patties and enjoy. Delicious.
Hello, Mrs Pam looks delicious my beautiful grandmother use to cook these and I am one of those that use shutter knife take skin off and don't use bones in mine thank you so much for memories God bless
Hmm, going to try the mashedtatoes! I always just use cornmeal. Thanks!❤
Hi,😊 this is one of my favorites, yum 😋 looks delicious, Thanks for Sharing Many Blessings 🙏🏾
Wow I can't wait to try this 😍
I've always kept the bones and skin. I just drain off the liquid. I've even used Mackerel instead of salmon. You could do this with tuna also.
Like Salmon way better than Mackerel is way too Fishy tasting! I do Inc bones and skin also!
The only problem with mackerel is that every brand I've been able to find, the bones aren't nearly as soft as they are in the worst salmon brands. Just gotta make sure to smash them really well.
I do too!
Yep, I just mash them in.
YOU keep that black skin and bones on your salmons although they say the bones has calcium i clean all that off mines
On your way to (1)million subscribers! Thunbs up
Potatoes is a first I’ve ever seen. I’m intrigued.
That's a nice change instead of just eggs
I've always used cracker crumbs. I want to try it now.
Looks delish!
yummy thy look so perfect
Yum! I recently bought an air fryer, so I'm going to try cooking some in that.
I had literally pulled down a can of salmon to make croquettes earlier today! 😊 If there's no rice, it's a 'no dice' for me!
Thank you, Pam 😊
Hello Ms Pam thank you for this recipe I have tried others but yours looks the best, I will make this for my husband. Much love❤
Thanks for your version on a family favorite. Asked Mom years back how many cans of salmon she used for meatless Friday salmon patties for the 6 of us. When she said ONE I knew just how talented she was at feeding us on a small budget. Didn't ask any more questions that day. Lol! Have a blessed Easter. Be well, stay safe.
Absolutely! I used one can many times especially when my kids were younger
@@CookingAtPamsPlace I've only recently found your videos and they are both informative and comforting. I'd hug you if I could.
Aaawwwwe thank you!!
The Salmon dish looks delicious thank you. From NYC.
Ironically I've been thinking of salmon croquettes the last few days. This is my sign I need to make some. 😂 Salmon is my absolute favorite fish hands down.
Go for it!
Thank you so much for that recipe I'm going to try it this way there's always room to do things just a little different thank you so much appreciate you💯🙏🏽👏
You are so welcome!
My granny did this same recipe.. God bless her, heaven getting them patties now ..Tku for ur recipe .(mashed potatoes r the secret)
Thanks for sharing..Will try this recipe 😋
What a great recipe. I've never thought to make with mashed potatoes and peppers. Also the extra kick of jalapeno flavor. I was thinking they would go well with just a side salad, as they already have some starch from the potato. Reminds me of my childhood . Mom used to make.♥️
Love your vs of salmon croquettes Mrs Pam ❤ I have everything but a mashed potato 😮
Love your video as usual 😉
A classic! Thanks for sharing, Chef Pam!
We call them salmon patties and I made them often when my kids were at home, too often lol, they won't let me live it down. They don't like them but hubby and I still make them. Serve them with pinto beans, corn bread, fried potatoes, slaw, sauerkraut and canned beets, good eating.
Nice
Tracy here not hubby Dave 😂, I grew up with salmon cakes with fried potatoes 🥔 and onions 🧅 and baked beans 🫘 😋 BTW..Ms. Pam I can’t find your link for your seasoning and do you make any salt free seasoning?
I don’t have a complete salt free. This is about 7% the link is shopcookingatpamsplace.com
Nice prepqre ahead so good to have after work.
Look so good yum
I’ve always added an egg as a binder but had never heard of chilling them before frying to keep them from breaking. Thanks Pam!❤ I also have always preferred mixing in the cornmeal . I use seasoned fish fry. I wanted to compliment you on your method for turning the croquettes! That was a very safe way to turn frying foods and I hope everyone was paying close attention. I’ve been burned a lot! So
I know how important this is. I also use the back of the spatula for lowering my foods into the hot oil instead of with my fingers. With the doctors report saying rheumatoid arthritis and neuropathy on top of fibromyalgia safety tips in the kitchen are very helpful ❤thanks again Pam. You truly are a blessing and a mentor to us all💐💐💐
Looks delicious 🤤 we always have ours with syrup

Thank you, Ms. Pam, for sharing your recipe. I have always wanted to make salmon croquettes. Have a wonderful day ❤
That looks delicious!❤ I'm going to try this recipe out this week!😋
Great recipe and good job flipping those patties!
My grandmother used to make salmon patties and would make everyone mad in the house because she had the whole house smelling like fish but they were so good.
Looks so delicious it makes me hungry. I must try the bell peppers and to dust with corn meal. Thank you for your cool tip Pam , you're the best!!!!

I've never put mashed potatoes in mine. I'll have to try it next time!
Awesome
Hello Ms. Pam, love your channel. I come for your beautiful smile and wonderfully relatable personality. I've replicated a slight few of your recipes with somewhat success. I am not really a cooking type of person as I live alone, hate grocery shopping and like nothing about cooking, because its a waste of my time. I am, alas, the perpetual dinner guest anywhere I can get in and fit in.😊 I'm the only princess with 4 princes in our family and
I'm invited to their homes or meet out for dinner 3-4 times a week.
My mom and dad were both culinary experts. Dad was a cook in the US Army and then at the neighborhood firehouse. My mom was a cook for Wealthy families in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, the home of historical auto barons. The mistresses of the houses would borrow my mom for their special events. I'm saying this to say that mom and dad, and world renowned 3 Michelin Star awards, Mr. Gordon Ramsey, would always vary the ingredients of croquettes but never the cooking method. The most important is to make the patties into a round ball, and once the first side of😊 the ball cooks, then flip the croquet over THEN press flat with an unslotted spatula. But your final product is fantastic. Keep up the good work. 👍🏽
Salmon Croquettes oh yes girl!!! 🤩
Really sounds delicious like the refrigerator hack!
Hi Pam salmon, croquettes awesome thanks so much for sharing your recipe❤🥰
I’ve never put mash potatoes in I it. I will try it next time.
Oh, my goodness! 🤗
Look so good! Beautiful ...
Looks delicious
Thank you 😋
I make something very similar with bread crumbs. I've never used potato. I'll have to try it.
Thank you Pam, for all you do. Your food presentation is beautiful and delicious I'm sure. Quick question. I don't fry much so I always wonered what temperature on the stove and the time frame for heating oil for frying? Thank you again 🙏🏾❤
Hi Pam. We need to leave everything that’s in the canned salmon. That bone is soft cartilage that has good health benefits. Good for our joints.
Yes,but it bothers my teeth even when super fine thanks.
first time here.. thank you for the video. warm greetings from belgium
Canned salmon bones are so very high om calcium. I love them. Irs rhe best part. That's the reason it so good for you. Especially if it's farmed. That's about the only thing bar one other nutrient that farmed salmon has. Unlike wild which is full of nutrients.
I’ve never seen them done quite this way before. I’m going to try your method. Thanks for another great idea. I usually serve them with peas and rice. Please share your recipe for tartar sauce. Watching from outside Charlotte!
Happy Easter Dear Friend✝️💜🐣🐰❣️
Looks good. We are thinking of making a low-carb version
Hank u for ur recipe especially with the addition of mashed potatoes in ur croquettes 😊
My Mom never took bones or skin out. So, I don’t. She didn’t use potatoes either. But, you do you. ❤️
Yep. A lot of people don’t take the bones out! And I use potatoes because they are smoother than crackers and breadcrumbs. Thank you!!
LOOKS YUMMY 😊I HAVE MY MOUTH OPEN LIKE A BIRD🐦 🙏🏽👑👏🏽
Looks delicious! My childhood favorite was chicken croquettes, that was a thick bechamel as the binder, celery, onions, poultry seasoning, then breaded and fried.....like a big stuffing ball lol
Yum
I keep the bones and liquid in for all the nutrients and the crunch. 😋 Sometimes, I put the fish juice in a glass and just drink it with whatever I'm making.
