Nice review, Dale. I just bought one of these today. Your tip about guarding that hydraulic pump was a great tip. I'll have my dealer install one before delivery as I'll be using this one in the woods.

I bought my ct1025 in May of 2021 and a little over a year later, mine has been reliable as I have almost 100 hours on it.
Yes, Dale has noted some of its weak points that I have also found.
The fuel filter is plastic and mine was ruined by a pine branch. I replaced it with a metal fuel filter. The fuel lines are exposed in the same manner which could be a potential problem.
The filter guard is a must and should come standard, not an accessory.
The hydro filter guard will keep your larger hydro filter from being torn off, but it will not protect your hydro filter from damage. Ask me how I know. The hydro filter guard should be more robust to protect anything.
My biggest complaint about the 1025 is the rinky dink seat. No one except Kioti compares in lack of comfort as neither have real suspension.
Also, the swivel seat for the backhoe is like someone's idea of building a better mouse trap. LOL

The whole tractor is designed by Bobcat, but they're currently being built by Daedong, makers of the Kioti tractor brand. The engine is infact a diesel powered Daedong engine.

I am curious about the curl myself!
I find it strange that the brochure says breakout force of 1554 pounds 500mm in front of the pivot but couldn't do that weight with the forks. If you do another video testing it and you can please test what it will curl and lift.

    • @daleofalltrades
      @daleofalltrades  2 года назад +1

I think the issue with that test your referring too is the weight is too far away with long fork tines. With just the bucket I'm thinking it's closer to the rated force... It's a theory. If I have a chance I will definitely test it! Thanks for the watch

@@daleofalltrades hey thought would chime in being I had a 2020 ct1025 , I owned it 14 months and put over 50 hours on it. I owned a Massey gc1705 before that and currently own the John Deere 1025r , so I can literally speak from experience in owning and operating all 3 tractors and comparing these specific models to one another.
Let me know if you guys have any questions at all.
Ps I had to turn my loader relief valve up a fair bit on the bobcat as it was way under spec when I recieved it from the dealer. That helped a lot for lift capacity. Both the Massey and John Deere are way way stronger in the curl power as is any tractor I personally grew up running. Let me know if you have any questions at all.

I purchased a CT1021. I had it for 3 weeks and it ran great. Then one day it didn't want to start. I waited for about a half hour and it started fine. I though that was weird. Then about 2 weeks later I was using it and it died after running for a little over 45 minutes. It just cranked and would cough and was chugging black smoke out of the exhaust but would not stay running. After sitting for about 25 minutes I tried it again and it started and ran fine. It did this the next 2 times I used it so I called the dealer and they said bring it in and we will look at it. Well problem is that I am over 2 hours away from the dealership. So I took it in the following weekend and dropped it off. When I dropped it off it has just over 12.4 hours on the meter. After dozens of phone calls and leaving messages and waiting for parts that were on back order because of the made up virus covid, they finally called and said it was all fixed. They did give me a loaner after about 3 1/2 months but it was a weird articulating tractor that weighed like 6000 pounds that destroyed my yard when I tried to drive on the grass... When I got it back 5 MONTHS later (yes, you read that righ,t they had it for just under 5 months) when they delivered it and picked up the turd loaner it has 45.7 hours on it. It started better but still wasn't right. Then last month I went out to use it and it sounded like it had a rod knock.....I climbed under it when it was running an it sounded like it was coming from the rear of the oil pan area. I shut it off and went back under and started wiggling and moving shit and found that all the bolts had sheered out of the secondary clutch and destroyed both surfaces...I called them and told them I was done and they needed to come get this POS and do something about it. They said they could not replace it because it had too many hours on it.....after they put over 33 hours on it....double what I did. Then they tried to give me a ridiculously low offer to buy it back. I dont know if it was a Friday tractor or what but it was the biggest POS I have ever owned. NEVER buy a CT1021 or CT1025...they are nothing but glorified lawn mowers that don't do nearly the lifting capacity they say they will. Ended up trading it in and lost over $5000 on the deal.

Well that's a long and unfortunate story. My father's (the one I reviewed) had an injector that was sticking open (causing heavy smoke) his dealer has been great replaced it under warranty and have not had any issues since. I think we all have horror stories on things we've bought. I totally understand your frustration.

Is the loader valve a pain in the ass to use two functions at once, say curl and lift? Seems like a real pain in the ass on the JD machines. Currently shopping for a SCUT/CUT of some sort.

I bought a ct 1025 a year ago. IT has 67 hours on it. Tractor only starts when it feels like it. When you need it the most it won't start. You have to pull connections apart and back together. Ran over small twig in yard no more than 1/4 inch diameter and it broke all blades of hst fan underneath. Following week find hydraulic filter caved in from something kicked up. Local dealer does not stock one part for it. Not even a filter. Do yourself a favor and buy something else. Sorry Bobcat you should have refined this one a little better before selling it to the consumer.
