    He plays any guitar, with or without pick and yes he uses whammy when its needed. The Doo is a gem, great sense of humour as well.

    From videos of the Dooo I've seen, he's used a red Fender Squier Stratocaster, a pink Squier Hello Kitty Stratocaster, a red Sterling By Music Man. I've also seen him play a Michael Angelo Batio double guitar. I believe he also has a Sterling Jared Dines Signature Stingray. I've never identified a lighter woodgrained guitar, nor know what model the Ibanez you identified in this video. He has also played the Otamatone and a Casio DG-20 Digital Guitar Synth Gray in some videos. He's an incredible talent in many areas.

      And the Ibanez guitar he used in this video is an Ibanez PIA3761 Steve Vai Signature... quite expensive (3.5 k +) and well deserved addition to his collection.

    The Ibanez guitar in this video is the new Steve Vai signature model. The dooo is self taught on the guitar but learned the piano and music theory during his musical education to become a music scorer for movies etc.

    At the end of the run on 10:08 he does the fluttering effect with the whammy bar ( when his hand goes off the camera frame, he slaps the whammy bar on the other side. That technique only works on floating bridges).

    • @frankiek2269
      @frankiek2269 Год назад

      Lol. If there’s a whammy bar on the guitar, it has a floating bridge. Whammy bars don’t work on a fixed position bridge, because the bridge doesn’t move. You might as well bend the guitar neck by pressing in towards the body with the head of the guitar (don’t ever do that BTW).

    • @usuallyclueless4477
      @usuallyclueless4477 Год назад

      @@frankiek2269 when people talk about a floating bridge, they talk about those which float even when you're not touching the whammy bar. Look at a floyd rose trem closely and you'll see it can move both ways as it doesn't touch the guitar body on one side.

    • @frankiek2269
      @frankiek2269 Год назад

      @@usuallyclueless4477 You’re saying what I already said. Give me an example of a fixed bridge being used in the same way.

    • @usuallyclueless4477
      @usuallyclueless4477 Год назад

      @@frankiek2269 I'm saying that ALL whammy bar systems don't necessarily have to be floating.
      The ones that move only one way (downwards) isn't called a floating bridge.
      You can move it both ways on an actual floating bridge.
      the 'Fixed Bridge' can't even be used for a whammy bar because it doesn't move either direction.
      I had posted another reply with an image link to show the difference but that seems to be missing.

    Long term it is more beneficial to have relative pitch than perfect pitch (if you are a working musician) At age 50+ your hearing will deteriorate to the point where you can't hear certain pitches properly any longer. Having relied on perfect pitch your entire life then and getting accustomed to relative pitch again is a pain in the rear end.

    He does use a whammy on this vid, but the whammy is pointing backwards, and thus, is out of the camera frame. You can see him pull his hand out of the frame from time to time, and that's when he's using it. His new guitar is a Steve Vai Signature Ibanez. Dooo's got deep pockets, or he's now sponsored by Ibanez, because that's a $3,500 guitar!

      @Soyel Great point about Ibanez announcing it. They definitely would have if he became sponsored. But, I'm sure they could work out something regarding his anonymity, because obviously Buckethead worked out something with Gibson. Totally agree with you about it being a work of art. Hell, I have zero aptitude when it comes to guitar, but I'd love to have that hanging on my wall just as a conversation piece!

    This is a recent video of the Doo. I think he has a new guitar. He used to play a red one or a Hello Kitty guitar. I don't like the distortion on this video. It is waaaay over the top. On the older video's it is much better.
