- Whitby is renowned for it's fish and chips. It's wall to wall with Fish and Chip Shops, boasting some of the best fish and chips in Great Britain. Flying the flag for England. It literally is the place to go for Fish and Chips. However, if you get the wrong fish and Chip Shop then you will be disappointed. Everyone has their favourite. Many people have told me The Magpie is the best Fish and Chip Shop, however I have reviewed this before and was severely disappointed. I'll leave the link to that review below. It was like a Battered Goldfish. My favourite prior to the Pandemic was The Fisherman's Wife, the big question is, is it as good as I remember prior to the pandemic? Well we are about to find out as I review The Fisherman's Wife in Whitby.
Here's The Review of The Magpie I made...

My girlfriend was there on the weekend she said it was absolutely awful and from her photo I'd agree it looked tragic.
Thanks mate. I live there
@@Anya-vk8il In the chip shop? Its a lovely place but it is good to speak the truth. Places do go up and down. Come to Leicester most are down. The north does the batter much better.
You should try Sleights Chip shop!! 4miles from Whitby on the start of the road to Pickering.Brilliant Haddock also The best Scampi!!
@@Anya-vk8il is that sarcasm?
Lots of people asking why when Gloria asked if everything was ok why didn't I make a point. Firstly Gloria was the cleaner who was very nice. Secondly and more importantly I am filming a review an honest review of what the public would receive if they went. So if I sent it back it would. Not be an honest review! If I sent it back and reviewed it again it wouldn't be realistic. It needs to be right first time.
Hey my friend, if you want awesome fish and chips, then I highly recommend a place called the spotted cow at a lovely village called Elwick near Hartlepool, I will 110% guarantee you will see the size of the fish and go WOW, its in a lovely old age country side pub and the portion sizes are massive and the food is absolutely beautiful. I stumbled on it by accident and I'm a regular there.
It costs about 12.99 for the fish and chips but the fish is huge and thick aswell.
Hope this recommendation helps.
Take care.

Absolutely no second chances allowed when reviewing, totally agree.
That's a normal size portion!!!!! And you've paid £14.00. . I'd take them back and ask fr a refund, I'm from that county renowned for certain food items, these being Clotted cream, fish and chips and the number 1 item of food that will give it away, the humble Cornish pasty. My family owned a chippy, when I was a kiddie, I can't get over , how crap that looks, the peas are so artificially green it reminds me of the incredible hulk. Get your ass to Cornwall at a place called the harbour-side in atwn called falmouth, they are always in the top 3 throughout the UK when going for chippy of the year
For a start, you’re in North Yorkshire. You had a problem with the place as soon as the video started. Slagging off the Magpie Cafe wasn’t a good start. I’ve been there a couple of times and I can’t believe what you said. Truly awful.
But I must say that if you weren’t happy with the fish and chips you had, you should’ve taken them back! Everything deserves a chance and all you’ve done is put people off and potentially closed the place down. You must be proud of yourself.
But…… although I’ve enjoyed the fish and chips from The Magpie Cafe, it is a while since I’ve been. I know they had a bad fire there and something may have changed since, for example, change of ownership.
And another thing. Try the fish and chips in Sleights, (I think it’s called) the village as you come towards Whitby after the Yorkshire Moors. They are fabulous.
And then lastly, I didn’t enjoy this review except what you showed of Whitby was very good, so I thank you for that.
ps. There are great fish and chips in Bradford. No skin, no bones and haddock, which is easily the best.
Cheers
ran a fish and chip shop in whitby for 34 years retired 4years ago. was glad to go. Good fish was getting harder to sauce and potatoes that used to cost 50p a sack 39 years ago can be nearly £20 just before new ones come on. When we started, fish used to be 3-4 oz this was either pieces cut out of large sprag (cod) or small fillets like the one you had. As time went on people demanded bigger fish at the end our fish were 8-10 oz fillets, River Side still sell that size and at a reasonable price, but the property is owned not leased (rent another thing that has gone through the rough ) cost of fish, potatoes, wages, and especially rent in Whitby has forced places like this to cut their portion size back to something like it used to be in the old days to make the same margins they made in the good old days. Fish & chips are now a luxury. Even 4 years ago I was cutting back on my profit margins to keep my customers happy, equivalent to no pay rise for the last 3 years of trading. Those chips looked like Maris Bards (fry white and taste a bit eggy) best chips you can get batter looked nice( light and frizzy) curry was like cat piss.
'source'
Can you remember when fish and chips were 10 old pence ? chips were 4d and fish were 6d. 24 portions of fish and chips for a quid !
£20 for potatoes must have been a one off they have hardly changed t farm gate price for decades.
The cost of potatoes is almost irrelevant to what can be charged for cooked chips because it's a tiny part of the hidden costs and overheads..
@@4wdflying we retired 4 years ago, and I think global warming has brought spuds on sooner and we nolonger have to bring in Egyptian & Greek just before our own new ones, but we did have a few bad years when if you weren't careful you could nearly run out and get stung on imports or last old ones.
Unfortunately these places know it’s mainly tourists visiting and so they rip you off with portions v price. Try going off the beaten path a bit and Il bet you get a lot more for your money and probably cheaper. Tourist traps
right on the money Ray
Same with seahouses in Northumberland, expensive and average quality but they know many are not locals
The problems these days are many fold.
1. Rental rates are high
2. Council Tax is high
3. Good Quality ingredients are expensive
4. Sadly this is most important of all, there are too many chippys wanting to make a killing rather than making good value food which will ensure repeat custom.
More people should complain & you should lead the charge.
Yep that does not mean robb the people of hard working money that they sell to xx
I can tell you as a a Yorkshire man we avoid fish and chips like the plague in Whitby. It's a total mystery why they are so shite. All the best fish mind gets bought straight off the boats. If you want decent fish and chips you need to come into leeds or Bradford area. Wetherby whaler skyliner or Murgatroyds. Mother Hubbards in Bradford. I apologise for my fellow tykes failure to produce what should be the best fish in the UK
The reputation dates back to when dozens of boats landed fresh fish most days - in Whitby.
There are hardly any left so the fish they use I now is the same bulk frozen stuff you can get anywhere but the best ones do at least know how to cook it (and the chips) which is easy to mess up.
@@4wdflying m
@@4wdflying That would explain why it was dry, and bland. Sadly not many people have access to fresh fish, and not knowing any better, they think that what they have been sold at £14 per portion is what fish is like.
Couldn't agree more. There are a couple of good ones in Brid but Whiteheads in Hornsea wins hands down.
Fish and chips it's a cartel in recent years in Whitby with inflated tourist prices. Purchase your fish and chips where us locals do. Go over the swing bridge follow the road turn right and walk few hundred yards on the left side of the road you will see a proper local fish and chip shop, next to local cottages, opposite the ship repair yard. This is not really a tourist rip off, place and uses freshly caught cod not frozen. Every piece of large cod is cooked to order in beef driping for the local people so you need to go lunch time or early evening. Puts every fish and chip shop to shame in Whitby.
Great advice and the same applies to many other places. For example, i love to travel the Greek Islands but hate the busy tourist/port area's with over priced 'home cooked tourist food'. I always walk inland, sometimes not very far, and find small eateries off the beaten track. I have found places with 3 or 4 tables with quite often no menu, where the owner's take you into the kitchen to show you what they have cooked that day. Amazing, traditional home cooked food you just would not see in the tourist areas. And half the price.
ok...i'll give it a go.
@@markcrisp07 Riverside Fisheries on Church Street opposite ship repair yard,10 minutes walk from swing bridge. Won the Whitby Gazette best Fish & Chip shop many years running. This is why I've made the effort to come to Albania via Corfu for my hols. No queues, crowds or bad food. I get big meals for £3 and pay 70p a pint here. No testing required (until you go home £60-£70 total for pre-dept and 2 day test). There are no restaurants with bad reviews, they don't survive. You should come over and do some kebab reviews.
No way is tht £13...i think they all have the same fish supplier 🤦🏽♀️
What's up with Kenny Rogers in the back there 😂😂

OMG commercial greed has ruined Whitby, I went wreck fishing there right through the 1970's, not many chip shops in those days and after a 10 hour fishing trip you needed some quality food and I was never disappointed. I left the UK 30 years ago and after seeing this...I won't be going back!!.
When we went to Whitby a few years ago we went to a chippy called Trenchers opposite the railway station. Was very nice.
Can I recommend others that I've been to in the past five years? Why, yes I can...
Mother Hubbard's, Scarborough
Seafarers, St. Annes
Barnacles, Llandudno
Chipmunk, St. Helens (if I'm in St. Helens then I go to the one on Barrow Street, but there's also ones on Westfield Street, Boundary Road, and in nearby Thatto Heath and Fingerpost)
Yates Fish & Chips, Goose Green, Wigan (my regular Friday night chippy)
Profiteering is the only word that sums it up. Yes, small businesses have had a tough time during the pandemic and they are to be applauded for keeping going. But please consider your customers who have probably gone through the same problems. If retail establishments want repeat business and want customers to pass on how good the experience was, then you need to take heed.
Agreed.
My local hairdressers have increased the price of a cut from £8 to £15 that’s a big jump and in an area which isn’t exactly prosperous. I understand businesses have had it tough, but turning in the customers isn’t going to end well
A Whitby guesthouse took £20 deposit from me knowing they could not fulfill the date die to covid lockdown. They asked me to re-book. I said I couldn't and he refused to pay me my £20 back saying it was not refundable. SCUMBAG
So it looks like in this case the government furlough scheme hasn't worked 🤔 lol
@@markcrisp07 You should of re-booked then cancelled lol
Went to Whitby today , had fish and chips at the Royal Fisheries and it was 10/10. Food was on point , serving size was big and the service was excellent. I think we as Brits sometimes get caught up on the fact the fish and chip shops at seaside towns ( especially on the pier ) must be the best there by the sea but that's not always the case. Royal Fisheries is just inside the town and I'd recommend anyone to try it !
That curry sauce was like piss water. Should be medium-thick in texture. Daylight robbery that price for the portion you got!
Best way to tell a sauce it should slide off a spoon still coating it
@@ianreid in fairness that curry sauce would coat a spoon like that, but it was unacceptably watery. They should just use bachelors curry sauce powder mix with the apple pieces and raisins in it - gorgeous!
@@X22GJP Well I happen to be a chef of 34 years nothing beats a proper sauce nothing packet made can beat that 😁
Your fish was a whole fish called codling. I had a f & c shop for 13 years, best in the North East. Never had f & c as good since I sold it! There are a few secrets passed down and very few people know them.
We own a hotel in Orkney and sell a lot of takeaways, The skinned and boneless Haddock has been coming in from the ships in a very thin condition, so much so that in some cases we are having to put two fillets in the box to make a decent portion. Our supplier is now telling us that he cannot get supplies at the moment other than fish that we would have to pin bone ourselves. As you said, What is going on with the fish at the moment?
Brexit
At my local chippie The vesta, we always get two peices of haddock in fish supper. And they are huge. I can only eat one peice. Thats in Ayr.👍
@@sneer0101 You mean the eu are nicking them all as we already know
Best fish and chips you will get will either be in Yorkshire or Scotland. I had a superb meal in Oban for not a lot of money.
Seen a lot of good sized haddock caught by the anglers on board boats up there , trawlers must be in the wrong places .........
I spend a lot of time in the North East of England for work, and often used to make the 70 mile round trip to Whitby simply for Fish and Chips. Over the last 6 or 7 years standards have dropped dramatically across the board there to the degree when I do go there now I eat something else. Its still a beautiful place, with stunning views, but its reputation for food has fallen off its own cliff edge. The Magpie started the decline many years ago, presumably putting profit before quality. The Quayside's standards and portion sizes quickly followed suit, then all the others fell in line. The hidden gem was Russel's which was a much more basic venue, but great on both quality and price. Sadly the owner retired and sold up and the standards quickly dropped. Scarborough and Robin Hoods bay too are both nothing like what they used to be. Further towards the North the picture gets better, though even at Seahouses which was also renowned for its quality standards and portion sizes have declined. Away from the coast is now where to get the best fish and chips. Both York and Leeds still have great venues. Sadly greed got to the coastal shops, they realised they could trade on a perception of them being the best, hike the prices right up and drop the quality. That in my experience is Britain to a tee now. A rip off country where prices are extortionate, and public services are honestly appalling. Look no further than the roads and streets. Filthy, riddled with pot holes and overgrown trees and vegetation.
Who was that sat at the side of you, captain birds eye?
I bet he had a decent bit of fish.Only the best for the captain's table.

Looks like the Fisherman's wife had the day off! Peas looked like mint sauce, curry sauce looked like the contents of a toddlers potty! Gloria sounded lovely. Problem is the UK have a captive audience at the moment so lots of places don't care. Had the same when I went to Brighton yesterday. Hope you have some Immodium to hand!
Typically British like me
Thinking: This is dreadful!
Owner: Is everything OK?
You: Yeah, lovely thanks!
When I went to Whitby, had Silver Street Fisheries. Chips cooked in beef dripping, lovely.
LOL, She wasn’t the owner, she was the lovely lady I mentioned cleaning the tables. Plus, I’m reviewing it, so I don’t want them to swap it. I want what other people will get on ordering :0)
£13 that's terrible ... Looks like a kid's meal .. very small kid
I think a lot of places are trying to make money out of staycationers by trimming down portion sizes and quality. That fish was unacceptable by any standards. That was a half portion of fish at full price.
I had a fish and chip shop , I can say if they use small fish then it’s alway thin which will look like tail end, some customers did ask for tail end.
I used fresh cod very large at least 3 feet in length , after cutting this up you will get large platelet that fall apart , a good thick piece white and tasty.
Some shops buy in very small fillets ,easy for them , lazy, the whole fish looks like a tail end, ends up mushy fish.
Great review.
CANNOT stand these places doing salt and vinegar in sachets because it’s NOT the same vinegar. The vinegar you get in chippies is non brewed condiment which has a unique flavour, and is far better than malt vinegar on fish and chips. I like malt vinegar on chips but not on chippy chips or chippy fish.
Totally agree Lee. Thin fish, anaemic chips, watery curry sauce and at a renown, nay, famous seaside town. This chippy, has let Whitby and Yorkshire down on this occasion. Maybe they’re trying to recover their lost takings by slicing the haddock in half - due to these unprecedented times? Who knows? Anyway, I think you need to pop back to Blackpool and have a few more £1 burgers. Lol. At least you’re ‘part’ Lancastrian, thanks to your dear old Mum. 👍🏼
:0) My Mum always said Lancashire was the best x
@@TheMacMaster all sons need to listen to their Mothers. They’re rarely wrong. 😊
Blackpool is a slum, last time I was there it was rammed with pissed up jocks wrapped in Union jacks chanting about how many Catholics they wanted to kill & that was just the women & babies. The guest house was disgusting, filthy & the room had some weird smell.
My local chippy does fish chips and peas on a tray for £5. The fish is 3 times thicker than the one you got.
Where's that?
About £5 for a generous plateful is reasonable nowadays any more than that they need to be something special or perhaps give you a spectacular view to look at while eating them
Thin fish fillet looks like frozen fillets of 'responsibly farmed' fish and the peas look like factory processed and canned. Typical of bulk purchase of items from a catering wholesaler. Curry sauce and batter too may be pre made and supplied in bulk, powders - just add water. At those prices, one might expect the fish to be purchased from a fish wholesaler, the batter to be made and the peas to be cooked on site. However, there are staffs shortage so they may have had no option but to bulk by pre processed stuff. Often, the prices have gone up after the lockdowns but also the quality of the ingredients has gone down. "It ain't what it used to be" is a common complaint.
Unfortunately lots of poor quality also rip off chippys about these days.

I'm going to share some info for you... You're fish and scampi DO NOT come from Whitby. The only catch landed in Whitby are shellfish crab, lobster and scallops most of which leave the town for export. Your fish is probably from Iceland (the country not the shop) there is no longer such a thing as Whitby scampi only scampi that is prepared in Whitby at the Whitby Seafood factory. Whitby doesn't even have a fish market anymore. So there you have it.
"Our fresh fish is carefully selected from the fish market here in Whitby." From their website, so that's a lie then?

Expensive, small fish, curry sauce was just plain wrong, peas looked to thin. Everything looked thin! Lack of condiments (but could ask for more) yep agreed 6/10 and its frickin Whitby! I've had way better land locked fish and chips. I expect sublime fish and chips at a fishing port. Great review 👊
Seems to be the case in most places now, expensive and small portions
Southwold Pier is
expensive! - Whitstable quayside phenominally expensive - you have to turn up in your Roller to collect a very scruffy looking tray of Cod and Chips in Aldeborough; while our local chippy, run by a Serbian gentleman, keeps winning all the local awards!
If your ever in stokesley try either one of their chippy’s, I usually have haddock and they are always cooked to order and are absolutely fantastic.
All fish is imported frozen nowadays. It isn't local - or fresh.
Typical English man. You need to complain whilst there. You were asked at the end if your meal if everything was ok and you said yes. Then after leaving said how dissatisfied you were. Keep it up though matey. I do enjoy your content. Just perhaps raise issues while you're there. It would actually make even better content👍
Just so you know matey, I am also a polite typical English man 👍
Trenchers, by the station, and the Quayside chippy (guess where!) are my two favourite Whitby chippies.
Agree 👍🏻
Utter piss take the price is terrible and I will never go there and we promote Whitby! Not for me mate a very generous 3 out of 10 for quality and no point in marking value.
You should try Trenchers. It’s brilliant! On the same side as the Magpie (which I too think is overrated) but at the other end, just past the bridge.
Should've gone to Quayside or Royal Fisheries both owned by the same family. Silver Street Fisheries used to be one of the best but haven't been there since it changed owners
Quayside?, best on the Planet!, and I am from Lancashire.
Tried a few chippies in Whitby, and they've all been utter shite, same up at Seahouses. One at North Berwick opposite the bogs used to be excellent, but that has gone shite. Shite and way too expensive, it seems to me that it's the fat they're now fried in? It doesn't even smell appetising anymore, and it seems to be the case for most chippies these days sadly.
schoolboy error big man
put your vinegar on first
that way the salt clings better to the chips 😀
I have to agree. Big mistake. 😊
I'll give that 2 out of 10 . We were in Whitby last Thursday and had cod and chips at the Duke of York , bottom of the steps £34 including drinks , knocks that into a cocked hat .
I live in Whitby Duke of York do lovely curly fries and their sandwiches are gorgeous - the prawn baguette especially - also their pies are mint 🙂
I realise that this review is two years old. We were in Whitby for the first time ever, at the end of September this year 2023.
We loved Whitby and we ate inside at this restaurant. It was very tasty and the fish was very big. It had crispy batter and beautiful white fish. We enjoyed every mouthful.
That's the honest truth.
I see Kenny Rogers who 'Just Dropped In' wasn't impressed either. 😉
I bet he told the lady it was really nice too, rather than the truth. The coward of the county!
He's dead.
By the look of it, I get better fish & chips in Bedford. I'm in no hurry to visit Whitby
I miss fish and chips cooked in "FAT" not this oil crap no taste left in them...

My dad loves to visit Whitby regularly and always looks to do something different each time. One thing that stays the same however is getting fish and chips from Silver Street Fisheries. Never been disappointed with them.
Was that Barry Gibb from the Bee Gees sat next to you? He was defo interested in your food, he probably thought that "you win again" and how "how deep is your fish" or maybe "eating whitby's fish give me the night fevers" or maybe "how can I mend a broken Haddock" how about "staying alive after a whitby fish" or maybe it was just a simple "Tragedy".........." I would have give it 4 at the very best. They looked awful. A rip off for the price they are charging.
That fish was dire and the price was disgusting. I do visit Whitby but I wouldn't spend most of the day queuing for second rate food. You are correct about the Magpie. It's only average. Try Saltburn. It's a good day out.
Even Kenny Rogers is disgusted at 8.31

Absolutely love whitby, but no way would I have paid that much for that rubbish.
I’ve always enjoyed the Magpie, in fairness I think they’re better eating inside. That portion you had from the Fishermans Wife was shocking. The fish looked almost transparent being that thin. The peas looked like they were from Chernobyl and the curry sauce looked like chicken %#$€. Trenchers is pretty good in Whitby, as is the fish box.
Finally, I agree with you that Something is not quite right with a lot of chippys at the moment. It might be they’ve been badly affected by COVID and trying to get money back. I even went to Inghams in Filey yesterday and they’re normally on the money. Their fish was thin and dry, so go figure.
Peas from Chernobyl, classic.
Judging by the the number of people ordering there would have thought the fish & chips wound have been much better & the most artificial looking curry sauce ! That guy beside you gave you some strange looks😜 but good staff service with Gloria 👍💕

First of all, I like it that you cleaned your plate. You were grumbling all the way through, but you ate almost every morsel which shows grit and determination. I like the Python-esque French accent in the segues. I generally admire a guy who complains. I personally don't so much complain as apologize for existing. £14 = $20 or so? I scored it 6 as well, it did not look great on the big screen where I watch RUclips, I would have taken the curry sauce back! Not being political at all, but the fish you had wasn't landed in Whitby. It came from either Iceland or Norway and was imported. The reason why you had such a small portion of fish is because there are now tariffs on fish because we failed to make a political agreement with both Norway and Iceland and the vendor has a choice of either reducing portion sizes or increasing prices. Check it out, and then e-mail your complaint to Johnson, Farage or Rees Mogg, the architects of Brexit. Don't blame the chip shops - it really isn't their fault.
Not being political at all!😂😂, still haven't got over Brexit??
Great bit of info there. Still, price should reflect portion size. Not good enough but brilliant info offered ..
A tiny bit of fish with a few chips, think their price was £9.50 on the board and that's Brexit's fault? They also charge £2 for a cup of tea. A ***king cup of tea! They're just greedy bastards end of, my chippy (60 miles from the sea) £8.50 with portions so big you struggle to finish so why hasn't Brexit hit them the same?
All the locals know the best fish shop is outside Parkol and price is rigttt😉🏴👍
I would have paid £5.00 for that.
Whitby fish, total bull. It's brought in from Scotland by articulated lorry to the fish quay.
Those mushy peas look so wattery and the fish so thin 😔
4 out of 10 maximum !!!
Let’s face it … Fish n Chips is serious business when away on holiday and can either make or break any vacation !!!
I’m afraid I’d have asked for my money back if that’s the best they can offer …
Like you and also many others who have left comments, I too am a connoisseur on this issue :-
Whitby’s Fish & Chip Restaurants at Rotherham and Doncaster are excellent … you might get as good elsewhere but I would doubt you’d get any better anywhere else in the world… I’d give them 10 out of 10
Cod Scallops at Market Harborough … Leics, are also excellent and I’d rate at 9 out of 10
This evening I’m taking a trip to Stamford, Lincs, to The Riverside Fish n Chip Restaurant. This too is a totally positive experience and I’m more than happy to give them 9.5 out of 10
Thanks for the upload now & God Bless
Whitby’s though are the ultimate and are well worth the trip !!!
That fish was almost criminal for what it cost.
Prove of stuff these days is ridiculous.
Out of interest, you commented.that the curry sauce was thin enough to drink, the lady asked of everything was OK and you replied yes. If you took time to.comment.is.was a bit watery why not raise the query with them?.Us English aren't good at complaining in a polite way. I think I might have asked of the curry sauce is always that thin.
I can't complain as I'm reviewing it. I need to review exactly what they give me or it wouldn't be fair. I need to review what you'd get of you went for a meal. 👍🏼👍🏼
Plus she was the cleaner. Nice lady.
Why didnt you tell her the curry sauce was watery 🤣🤣🤣
That’s shocking!!! It looks like a glorified fish finger. Very stingy portions and 14 quid!!!! Daylight robbery!!
Can't say I've been to the Fisherman's Wife, but for sure The Magpie is only the 3rd or 4th best chippy in Whitby. My Favourite was Robertsons up past the Dolphin but on the Holland and Barrett side of the road. You could sit in and have a beer but it seems to be a book shop now, though I think they still have a takeaway bit. Last two times I've been I went to Pappas, loads of space inside, massive portions as well!
Well, no words really for the first look and presentation of that poor poor little flat soggy fish 😮
Service might be good, but the meal is 3/10. We used to go about every 3 weeks to Harry Ramsden's in Swanage, service was good, not long to wait, food superb, we missed visiting for a couple of months, went back and everyone was from Eastern Europe, the service was good, very polite, the food dire, small thin fish, chips looked like it was left over scraps, mushy peas fine.
The batter while crispy on the outside had 1/4 inch of mush inside and was inedible, told them it wasn't that good and have never gone back. Sad as it is a beautiful place, but covid and crap food put you off.
was there last weekend crap try Weymouth a lot lot better
To be fair you can't judge the whole of Whitby by a few visits to a few Fish & Chip shops ?
You said yourself ... the place is littered with Fish shops ... so maybe an idea to try a few more ...
Your entitled to your opinion , but a bit unfair to say "Whitby .. hang your head in shame " ???
Overpriced.Should be half
How about complaining to the shop instead of trolling them on RUclips. I'm sure they would have given you a refund or some vouchers.
Read the pinned comment!! It's my job. 👍🏼👍🏼
@@TheMacMaster Nothing wrong with naming and shaming rip off and substandard fast food. Good on you.
They are profiteering plain and simple. Shouldn't have to harrang the staff about portions. Probably the owners decision. It's best that these places get named and shamed. If it means they change their profiteering ways in case he comes back then that's a result
I’ve been to Whitby twice, last time I went was in 2016 and I ate at the Quayside fish and chip restaurant then. I loved it as they still used beef dripping for the fish and chips and you could taste the difference! The chips tasted like roast potatoes when cooked in beef dripping. 😋
