Hi Michael, This is Tim's wife Veda. Love seeing this again and again! I miss him so much. Everytime I watch this I remember how incredibly sweet and powerful he could be. It was hard to let him go. But he went in peace. Best wishes to you this year.
Hi Veda just seeing this a little later after you posted it. So glad this video makes you feel Tim's presence as the wonderful man and musician that he was... My heart goes out to you and so glad Tim had you through the years... He was obviously so happily married to you. I am very sorry he had to leave us so soon... We talked on Facebook once later in our great friendship... But the everlasting impression he made upon me as a young bass player will never leave me just as he had this effect on many others once you had a chance to meet him. I just wish we had been in touch more yet not knowing he would not be with us before we could; leaves me empty. This video production day with Tim was a great day in my life I will never forget along with the early memories like when he sent me a Fender bass neck to my home as I needed one that he so generously gave to me. Thank you so much for your comment and letting me know this video is special to you which makes it all worth it even more. Michael
I grew up very close to Tim’s house on Shaler Boulevard in Ridgefield, NJ. He was the pride of Ridgefield Memorial High class of ‘63 and an unbelievable saxophone player. I always hoped he’d move back to Jersey, but he loved California. The Fudge actually used to rehearse on the front enclosed porch of Tim’s parents house.
Thanks, Mikey--he was a sweet guy, very generous with his time and talent. Since I was living in LA, I was able to take singing and bass lessons for a while...take care, s
Thank you for this. Tim was my biggest bass guitar influence, and one of my best friends. We talked a week before he passed - we both knew. Tim Bogert will always be part of who I am as a bass player. Rest in peace, my brother. I love you.
I wanted to see him before he passed I heard that he wasn't doing well Didn't know where in the valley that he was at! He was one of my instructors at MI 1990/91 for 2 years! VIT ! He stood up for me and advocate for me when I needed it! Please personal message me FB where I can take him some flowers! He was like a big brother and a protector ! He is sadly missed! Rest in peace 🕊️ Tim! Always remember you!
I had the privilege of playing on stage with Tim and Doan Perry Jethro Tull for 2 years at Musicians Institute 1990/91 and Tim Boghert and Jeff Berlin Tim was a sweetheart of a guy like a big Brother he was supportive and understanding with lots of patience! Fun guy to be around and play music with on stage I will miss him very much! I wanted to visit him when I heard that he wasn't doing well but didn't know where in the valley he was! You are dearly missed Tim! Rest in peace 🕊️! Miss you!
He passed over, in the arms of someone who made sure he knew he was very very loved. Not well publicized, but this thread called to me to say this. He was, a member of my extended family, and what an absolute sweetheart he was. I am not a musician, don’t live in LA, and so very oddly, I knew three good friends, and his wife through out his lifetime... people would always say..”you knew Tim Bogert/stage...” Baffled, I hadn’t a clue, and I’d ask, “ why? Is he famous? He’s a great guy and play killer licks...” I met him through Tony Rainer (Blue Cheer) who I’d also met through growing up in SF Counter culture scene...Only a couple years ago, did I catch that clue. I feel really touched, and value knowing him from outside of the industry, yes: big love, big smiles, big laughs, big herb gardens, and big sorrow. May he walk in eternity, knowing the joy he gave... rip fine Sir, damn you were funny puttin up with my audaciousness, big props to Ampeg, let’s raise one to Tim💓 Ps: this is posted under another persons SN, DH is not my name.
I was standing right in Front of Tim Bogart....at the Vanilla Fudge performance.....at Linkin Park Ballroom... Dartmouth Massachusetts....1967....with my Dad...i was 13 years old...he used 3 fender dual showman 2x15 cabs....and a fender telecaster bass...and of course..he was "FABULOUS".."TIM BOGART"...bad ass..bass player.
I´m glad that I wrote him an email some weeks prior to his death in which I told him that I always had loved his playing and style so much. Although he didn´t know me he responded with a big thank you. Sometimes we human beings forget to tell other human beings that they mean something to us. In this case I was glad to have done it after I heard that he had passed.
I’ve only learned about him today my grandpa showed me parchment farms but wow I’m disappointed I’ve never heard his playing before because this whole era seems like where people like Van Halen and the next greats to come came from. Truly inspiring and so sad to see that he’s already passed may his soul rest and music live forever
I've never heard him play that style before. Not surprisingly, he's a monster player at it. Saw him open for Jimi Hendrix at the Hollywood Bowl in 1969. Of course I was already a Vanilla Fudge fan (because of him) by then.
Bless your heart...I miss him so much. Somehow I never thought about the day when I wouldn't be able to just call him up. Very painful now. This was fantastic to see. About his "personality" of fun...he made me laugh so hard I cried sometimes. Wicked quick wit. Thank you again for sharing this. I had been listening to his version of Lies here on yt and saw this.
I love it. I've played guitar for over 50 years. I dabbled a bit with an old Vox bass for a short time many years ago. Tim Bogart has always been in my top ten list of bass players
Tim was the best and #1 bass player on the planet. You ask any bass player in any rock band who they thought was the top bass player in rock. Tim’s name comes up 80% of the time. I did and that’s a fact.
He first got my attention with Take Me For a Little While with the Fudge. Knocked me out. Especially when you consider what other bassists were doing at the time. Miss you Tim.
‘Twas an honor to play bass in the new Cactus band whilst Sir Timothy ran off with Jeff Beck that year! Then, in L.A. years later, he showed me his herb garden! Yeah! Love ya Tim! #RockinPeaceTimBogert ""After I left Cactus to join with Jeff Beck and Carmine Appice in BBA, Charlie eventually became the bass player in the New Cactus Band. I came to know him as a good bass player and friend. I’m sure he has some great stories to tell in his book." -Tim Bogert (Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, BBA-Beck Bogert & Appice) LiveYourDreamBook.com

Rest in peace Tim. Saw him in concert with Vanilla Fudge when I was 14 at Mount Saint Mary's College in Thurmont, Maryland. Phenomenal bass player.
Thanks for sharing! Cool clip of him playing a Fender Performer bass. I have seen one but had never heard one. RIP Tim!
He was my favorite bass player!
Isaw Tim play with many different iterations of bands He was one of the best if not the best musician ive ever seen.
The first time I witnessed his amazing skill was when he played with Jeff Beck and Carmine Appice. Still listen to that today.
I first heard Tim in Cactus and he quickly became one of my favorite bass players. Immensely underrated.
Agree 100%. I saw him with the 4:21 first two versions of Cactus and BBA, he was one if my favorites.
My all time favorite.

My buddies & I would listen to Cactus in a basement while playing poker. we got off on the high energy.
He passed very loved. RIP

Can't beat that killer rhythm section - times four! Besides those three, there was CBA (Char Bogert & Appice)
Tim was the best!
with vanilla fudge,
Tim was like a turbocharged James Jamerson - and he LOOKED hyper-intelligent.
Tim was a monster and no doubt Rick Beato would've had him on if he lived.
Bogart and I were about the same age. When he was in Vanilla Fudge he was one of my earliest influences on bass.
