Amazing bass playing I must say

I've never heard him play that style before. Not surprisingly, he's a monster player at it. Saw him open for Jimi Hendrix at the Hollywood Bowl in 1969. Of course I was already a Vanilla Fudge fan (because of him) by then.

I first heard Tim in Cactus and he quickly became one of my favorite bass players. Immensely underrated.

The first time I witnessed his amazing skill was when he played with Jeff Beck and Carmine Appice. Still listen to that today.

Love this sound and style..

I remember this from Guitar Player magazine form around 1986 or 87. I was in high school and just got my first bass, and this recording blew me away, loved it..and I still have it in my old vinyl record collection. Little floppy pull out record that was included in that issue of Guitar Player. Ah those were the days..in the 80's

Tim was the best and #1 bass player on the planet. You ask any bass player in any rock band who they thought was the top bass player in rock. Tim’s name comes up 80% of the time. I did and that’s a fact.

I’ve only learned about him today my grandpa showed me parchment farms but wow I’m disappointed I’ve never heard his playing before because this whole era seems like where people like Van Halen and the next greats to come came from. Truly inspiring and so sad to see that he’s already passed may his soul rest and music live forever
