It's a fantastic popcorn movie. I actually saw Predator 2 before the original when I was 9-10yrs old. Going into it I already had a vague idea about what "the Predator creature " is and it's motivation. Needless to say after that initial viewing I became a massive fan and have remained one a good 30 odd yrs later. And like so many others when that reveal of the xenomorph skull happened my juvenile mind was blown.

He had this bad ass cop vibe to him throughout the film which I enjoyed but he was great at showing moments of real shock and desperation at what he was up against, particularly at the beginning when he's scared of heights and when he cut the Predator's arm off. He showed great vulnerability as the bad ass hero which I liked.
I completely agree. The beginning is the only thing I don’t like. The gang wars at the beginning was a bit too over the top with the news reports. Once it gets past that the tone changes to a more realistic tone. The movie is well done Danny Glover does a great job. I never realized how big he was because in Lethal Weapon he always wore suits. He was believable as someone who could actually fight a Predator. Gary Busey did a great job as well. His team tracking the Predator was such a good plot twist. Bill Paxton was hilarious like he always was in those type of roles. Predator 2 wasn’t marketed properly. I didn’t even know Glover, Busey and Paxton were in it until I saw it. Predator is a damn good movie!

I understand why a lot of people wanted Arnold in this movie, but I felt like I didn’t need to see him again, or else the movie should’ve been called “Dutch”, and not the Predator. (By the way, Dutch is a real movie, starring Ed O’Neill, but it’s awful… Don’t watch it…)

Predator 2 may not get the approval ratings but I still thought it was perfect sequel for the original masterpiece. Brilliant cast when you're counting Danny Glover, Bill Paxton, Gary Busey and Robert Davi and not to mention Kevin Peter Hall RIP.
I never understood the hatred that Robocop 2 gets. As great as the first? No, but it's a solid Sci-Fi action film with a good mix of humor, characters, violence, and has a pretty coherent and logical plot. (Logical within the established rules of the franchise, at least.) Fun film.
What I appreciate about this sequel, is that it dared to add new features and characteristics, as well as the expanded lore surrounding the origins of AVP. A great cast, great script, awesome effects, a superb film worthy of this recognition.
Predator 2 doesn't get much recognition as Predator, but the 2nd one it still pretty bad ass. Great cast to :Danny Glover, Gary Busey, Rubén Blades, Maria Conchita Alonso, Bill Paxton, Robert Davi, Adam Baldwin. It has some really cool scenes that I love.

Yeah! There are plenty of classic lines in Predator 2 that’s for sure! No idea why it suffered so in the beginning as now it’s looking like it’s Fckng cult classic?? People can get a bit overly obsessed about small details imho, this case it’s Arnold! For me, one of the reasons why I felt Predator 2 was the better of the two movies, was precisely because there’s No Arnold! Having Arnold in these films is hardly any guarantee of success is it, after all look at the last two Terminator movies - Absolute Train wrecks the two of em????
The Predator game that came out last year had Arnie back in the mix for audio tapes about Dutch's adventures after the events of the first movie. As you play the game, you unlock more of the history. It's pretty cool how they went about it. A lot of work has gone into it, considering it's another monster Vs survivor game. If you haven't checked it out, and if you're interested at all, please look into it.
AvP ain't great, but entertaining and far better than people make it. And comparing it to AvP 2, makes it look like an Academy Award nominee for best motion picture.

You are an indomitable survivor. Take this as a token of our utmost respect". It is such a rewarding scene, for someone who's just a hard working anti-gang police officer, not a space marine trained to resist to elite tier trophy hunters. Besides, it showed that the predators, in spite of their single minded interest for exotic poaching, aren't without a sense of honor.
If anything, Predator 2 was the better of the two films, for sure they had much better Actors in it!! The first picture I felt was too much about Arnold, but Predator 2 had a more realistic grit about it mainly because there was NO Arnold, and I felt that Danny Glovers character - Harrigan, was far more grounded thus more believable!
Predator 2 and Die Hard 2 are two films I love and think both are very underrated. Never has the phrase “want some candy?’ freaked me out as much as it does in this film.

Absolutely love Predator 2. Born in '88 so didnt get to see until '96, where my parents thought Robocop 2 and Alien were ok for 8 year-olds, but still a movie I love and shared with my kids. Love and appreciate what you do Minty.

@@bradhodges4521 I remember late in Terminator 2 when the T-800 was scanning for the T-1000 through the steam and it caught him off guard. Predator might be able to use his cloaking, agility and shoulder cannon to beat a T-800. On the other hand, the Terminator's lack of body heat could allow it to use stealth too. It would at least be close enough for a good movie.
Not only did those two Elm Street directors take over to make action sequels, the two movies were both sequels to game changing John McTiernan action classics.
I grew up as a kid of the 80’s and a teenager of the 90’s so Predator 2 is along with Predator 1 some of my favorite movies of all time!!! I love part 2 and the way they expanded the universe. I also like how they really showed the Predators have a honor code when he wouldn’t kill the kid of the pregnant woman!!
I love Predator 2 to this day. I'll never understand the detractors. I thought it did a great job of continuing the lore and being entertaining.

I also wanted The Predator to say “diplomatic immunity” the Glover say “Has just been revoked”.
That's funny because I felt the opposite. I thought it was a great movie EXCEPT Glover who, to me, never seemed to fully grasp what he was doing.

Danny Glover is great in anything he sets his mind to do. Color Purple is a prime example.
Predator 2 is criminally underrated. Great story. Great characters. Good performances. Fun dialogue. An all around great sequel.

IMHO, King Willie is the Boba Fett of the Alien vs. Predator universe. Met briefly, but left a lasting impression.

I like it. It extends the mythology without going completely left field, and it has an over the top almost comic book campiness to it that is fun.

I have always loved Predator 2. They replaced a superman in Schwarzenegger with a super-actor in Danny Glover and the movie was a blast.

I give the movie much props for its "pulp" feel and the way the film wasn't just a cheap knockoff of the first.
*I Come In Peace* next. Neway, this is a great entry in the franchise imo. Yeah, theres no Arnold but i thought this movie was awesome as a kid in the 90's. The weapons the Predator had were pretty bad ass & liked the main characters

i remember when to catch a predator first aired and just how disappointed i really was.
This was the 1st Predator film I watched. That death scene in the city where the victim was tied up was haunting.

For me it's a guilty pleasure. I don't think it's cinematic gold or anything, but some of the action scenes are pretty fun and I like the character of Lex
I remember watching Predator 2 way back in the mid 90s, and I remember enjoying it. Especially when learning that the Predator had "rules" when he discovered that the Conchita character was pregnant and spared her.

@@bradhodges4521 I remember late in Terminator 2 when the T-800 was scanning for the T-1000 through the steam and it caught him off guard. Predator might be able to use his cloaking, agility and shoulder cannon to beat a T-800. On the other hand, the Terminator's lack of body heat could allow it to use stealth too. It would at least be close enough for a good movie.
Not only did those two Elm Street directors take over to make action sequels, the two movies were both sequels to game changing John McTiernan action classics.

I grew up as a kid of the 80’s and a teenager of the 90’s so Predator 2 is along with Predator 1 some of my favorite movies of all time!!! I love part 2 and the way they expanded the universe. I also like how they really showed the Predators have a honor code when he wouldn’t kill the kid of the pregnant woman!!
