Over the years I've often thought about this Tube special it had a profound effect on me at the time, thought I would never see it again, don't you just love modern technology, thanks for preserving and posting this high quality memory of times prior to the Simon Cowell etc controlled music rubbish on tele today..
Bunnymen approaching their peak. Great footage of, possibly the greatest live rock n roll band ever. Well in about 1985 anyway when Pete lead the way and Mac did the only vocal.
So here is the footage of them playing. Fantastic. I saw them on Tuesday and really enjoyed it but this energy and verve has gone. The youthful arrogance and swagger have long since faded and now we have some fairly old chaps playing some damn fine songs but and it's heartbreaking to say, a bit like a tribute band! I wonder if they just keep going cos they kind of have to, to keep the Bunnymen legend alive. But this is fuffing beautiful!
Was lucky to have been there. The acoustics were incredible. Mac was always saying they were the best band in the world, on that night no one could argue
I agree. I saw them a couple of years earlier and you knew they were on their way up, a few years later and you knew they were over the crest. They were untouchable at this point though, and Mac introducing 'The Killing Moon' as "one of the greatest songs ever written" didn't sound as bad as if Bono had talked in the same way of a U2 song.
Remember coming home after this and telling my mates what an amazing weekend id had although nearly getting knocked off my bike several times,my mates said are you back on the glue , lol great gig.
Also me to Mac as the baby faced angelic voiced young man he is here. Put the cigarettes away you have no idea how they're going to Fuff up that stunning voice in the future!
i left for Blackpool for a holiday with ma granny and granda the morning after a midsummersnights tube left Glasgow a boy and returned a man, well manish, as much as i could be i was only 13
Some talent from this city, pete Wylie, farm ,cast, bunnymen, flock of seagulls , beatles, Merseybeat. Billy fury, frankie Vaughan, the Real thing , space, pete burns, half man half biscuit. Teardrop explodes, Elvis Costello , Franky goes to Hollywood. Christian's, China crisis.. Deaf school.. Have I missed some out?
Why the complete show of this hasn't been released on dvd beggars belief. Absolutely bloody brilliant!
I was at this gig, St George’s Hall Liverpool - superb night

lol. It was a good day that. I was down the front at the gig, a 14 year old me thinking I was so cool, ha....
We need to form a society for Crystal Day survivors. I think it was possibly the greatest gig i have ever attended. I was 14...
What a fucking incredible day it was

JUSTE DÉMENT !!!!
First three albums are genius....Even though Porcupine was rushed...
You forgot Ocean Rain, their greatest achievement
BTW real shame you didn't leave it running at the end so we could see some classic tube presenters doing there thing...RIP Paula

@@Timpriestley Cheers. 👍Quite amazing . Bet theres another few to add. The Wombats? Good sound, but not made it yet
@@topcatcoolio8807 Funny how you wrote Cast but not The Las. That has to be in the top five Liverpool albums ever.
@@Timpriestley Yes true maybe I was thinking of their change progression 😄
@@Timpriestley And who sang 3 lions on my chest. . Hes one too

Cucumber, Cabbage, Cauliflower, LOL
They were always a bit special the Bunnies. Saw them a couple of times with Pete they were shit hot.
Was such a huge fan. The music is still highly compelling. The lyrics are really crap, unfortunately. Cu-cu-cucumbers, ca-ca-ca-cabbage.
teodelfuego Don't forget the ca-ca-cauliflower
And Ba ba ba nana . Tom tom tom mato 🤣
