    Regular Mustard Oil + Food prepared in Air Fryer = Best of both the worlds ! What i gather from Western world's government decision to ban it for human consumption is more of an Economic decision rather than a health concern. Realistically speaking, governments don't really care for the health of their people, otherwise they would have banned smoking, alcohol, or sugary candies and beverages etc.

      How to remove mustard oil smell? Any tips

    • @TheCooksDomain
      @TheCooksDomain  Год назад +1

      Yes, do not use the mustard smell. It is the smell that is the primary reason to use it. If you do not want the smell, just use a neutral oil, like vegetable oil.

    Let's face it, it's all about the benefit of the country. Eruric acid on human health is not concluded as it's only been tested on animals. If US allow mustard oil then own grown oil consumption will be lower and import will be higher. It doesn't benefit the country. Same in India, as many don't recommend using Avocado or Canola oil in cooking here. Though mustard oil has high smoking point it is not used for frying in India.
    I say all oil is bad in consumption. Use it as less as possible.

    If Americans can consume yellow mustard paste in hot dogs and other items then why it's oil can't be consumed? Does mustard paste doesn't contain mustard oil which is made from mustards ?

    I bought some from my local indian shop. The label mention the words Indian and Kitchen and also had the for external use only in small on the side. I was curious as I had seen recipes that used it. I use for where it is used in the dish for the flavour. People have been eating it for centuries without any major effects. I don't think its as bad as they make it out to be.

    Mustard oil is being used in cooking for centuries in Afghanistan,Pakistan and India and we feel no ailments due to this oil.....US,UK etc have not banned it because it is dangerous....rather it will reduce the sale of of oils which these countries sell to other countries....no oil is a comparison to mustard oil.....

    If everyone uses mustard oil then who will use olive oil? This is the reason for mustard oil ban . American and European countries discouraging use of mustard oil.
    South Asian countries using mustard oil from centuries without any health problems.

    They said the same with coconut oil was bad but now coconut oil is high on the list

    • @TheCooksDomain
      @TheCooksDomain  Год назад +1

      Yes, and I would still agree that coconut oil is bad for you. Like way worse than mustard oil. Coconut oil is over 95% fat that SATURATES. That is very bad! One way ticket to a heart attack. Avoid!

    Where can I buy this oil? I would fry with it. I wouldn't use a lot of course. Is it possible to fry mustard seeds and use that to inhance the flavor of the food your frying with?

      Yes you can fry mustard seeds, I start with them and as soon as they start making a popping noise you can then add your onions and garlic

    Why don't you cook with the mustard oil? I heard that they mustard oil must first be heated highly to get rid of some of the toxic compounds and then it can be used to cook, have you heard that?

      Hi, thanks for your comment.
      You can of course cook with it, a whole sub-continent does. I choose not to as explained in the video, and I have not heard about using it at a high temp would get rid of the toxins, but I do know that all oils deteriorate and become more carcinogenic when cooking at high temperatures over a long period of time.

    I to bought it for preserving, but upon reading for external use only gave me cause for concern, in my country it’s made for preserving mangoes etc. and says so on the bottle. I bought it through Amazon and is stuck with it because the seller refuses to send me a return label. They are saying you can cook with it, how does that work? I’m not Indian, all I wanted was for preserving. I’m stuck with a whole gallon and don’t know what to do with it.

      If it is for preserving only, I think you will be fine. But ultimately that choice is yours.

      I'm coming here to learn more about it because I want to use it in a foot soak, for its warming properties because a really hot foot bath is very relaxing for those of us who have to be on our feet for 8+hrs. Maybe you can use it up by pouring it in a foot bath? Or share it with a loved one who, like me, suffers from terrible circulation

    I just bought ground brown mustard seeds, because if you add 1g to cooked broccoli, it boosts sulforaphane (says Rhonda Patrick). But should i be worried about erucic acids effects on the liver?

    • @TheCooksDomain
      @TheCooksDomain  Год назад +1

      I would do your own research as I would not take any responsibility for your health, but personally, I don't think 1g is gonna hurt you even if you were consuming that amount everyday. It was found that 2 servings exceed the limits and a serving is between 25g and 30g, but please do not take my word for it.
      Also, I think it's the heart that it bothers, but again, I'm no scientist!

      @reflux043 Год назад

      @@TheCooksDomain That's great, thanks for replying. Ive tried to research and can't find anything on how much erucic acid is in 1g, but i did find that brown mustard seed is the lowest in erucic acid compared to yellow and black varieties. You're probably right on the serving sizes, and i think even 1g is too much to put on a meal, so im probably going to use it like salt, and add a pinch or two.
