I like how it tried to innovate the fighting formula specifically towards casuals. That yakuza-like open world they introduced here was such a great idea and it fits perfectly with the vibe of the game. It might not be perfect but it's a hell of a step up from previous fighting games, i'll give them huge credit for that one.
As a longtime SF player, I think the single player mode is brilliant - specifically, it takes the things that make learning a fighting game daunting (…grinding, gradually increasing skills, losing a lot) and discouraging to new players and wraps it up in this fun little harmless cute package. Learning any established fighting game involves losing to players a lot, which is discouraging and demoralizing, but this basically replicates the experience without the moral injury. Which makes it funny to me that longtime fans are hating on it.
I'm spending more time in World Tour. I'm enjoying every seconds of going around searching for and learning from the Masters while leveling up. I've used Ken's style on Ryu when I first encountered him landing a Chun Li's level 2 Super Art on him. This was a great addition to the regular Arcade and online features traditionally in fighting games.
World Tour Mode is the reason I picked up this game. It reminds me of a better version of Tekken 6's Scenario Campaign mode and Tekken 3-4 Tekken Force. I am looking forward to the addition of DLC characters to the mode. Learning Akuma's moves is going to be so much fun.
Its crazy how spot on this is. As a casual player that enjoys fighting games but is no good due to how technical it can be, this is the first fighting game where it really teaches how to be technical without it being overly complicated. I'm having a lot of fun especially online which is a first for a fighting game
I've always found myself downloading fighting games (usually Mortal Kombat) and playing them for a bit but getting to a point where I didnt feel like I could get better. A lot of comments like yours are making me want to try SF6 because it seems good for casual players who dabble in fighting games from time to time, which then helps them learn to then go into online
@@Ziggz47 I’ve been playing it and honestly with the modern controls, I’m enjoying it a lot more than I expected. I’d only play mortal kombat because when it came to combos or even pulling off special moves, mk was much more easier to pull them off compared to SF and Tekken.
I'm Brazilian and I'm amazed by Blanka's new theme song. Capcom put so much research and love on it, bringing many elements of Brazilian music such as Brazilian funk for example.
Yeah, the theme is awesome. Probably my favorite alongside Jamie's. But I kinda hate Blanka's redesign. He went from Amazon monster straight to weird ass gorilla
I think what's great about World Tour mode is that it doesn't just teach you fighting game fundamentals. It also teaches you the fighting game mindset. The masters you train under, the characters of Street Fighter 6, all fight because they enjoy fighting. Winning is secondary. They enjoy the act of fighting itself first and foremost. Most of the characters are friendly or on good terms with one another. Ken and Guille are literally family. Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly are practically neighbors. They fight one another because they simply enjoy fighting and grinding themselves to get even stronger. Almost all of them have the biggest smiles on their faces as they fight, and they actively support your created character as they train them. The world of Street Fighter 6 as presented through World Tour is basically a representation of the FGC, with the SF playable rosters being the top players of their world.
Hi! As a fairly well established member of the FGC man, it’s amazing to see you jump on this dude. SF6 is getting a lot of love from the community because it’s also loved by people new to it. 🎉
I am someone who used to hate fighting games before Street Fighter 6. It was like whenever I see a fighting game I would run the opposite way. And now I am playing street fighter 6 like crazy every day and now I am planning to improve for the ranked matches. I am loving the world tour mode. I don't know about others but for me, this world tour is like a dream RPG for me.
I’ve never played a Street Fighter game, but SF6 has been all I’ve been playing this last week. It’s incredible. Mostly the World Tour mode, because I’m also a fan of single player adventures, and this to me is the perfect marriage of fighting game and story mode.
I think create-a-character in anything is garbage. The last thing i want to do is play as a generic nobody that has a copy/paste move set of another fighter lol. I've mostly just been playing arcade and i think its a good game.
I'm loving the characters creation. I made a skinny guy and every 10 levels I buff him up a bit so it looks like he's actually getting stronger. It's the first street fighter that has actually drawn me in
I was also in that "cuff" or edge of breaking into an actual fighting game that Jake was in. All it takes is one single game that is calling to you and you're hooked. One of the cool things with fighting games is that stuff you learn in one game can sometimes be applied to other games as well. Great video, Jake!
Core A Gaming's video on [Why button mashing doesn't work] and Polygon's [How to get started with Fighting games] are also some of the best videos about the genre!
I can second your statement about experience in one carrying over to another. I’ve been playing Guilty Gear Xrd and Strive for a while, and those games (alongside BlazBlue) make up almost the entirety of my fighting game experience. Like half of the special moves in those require quarter-circle inputs to trigger, and it turns out that it seems like all of Street Fighter 6’s special moves are quarter-circle turns. Made things much easier on me since I was already very experienced with that lol
@@Road_to_Dawn Well, yeah, Street Fighter invented the whole quarter circle, Z for DP, semi circle, carging and full circle thing. The only thing that Guilty Gear added on top of that was quarter-circle plus opposite direction input.
I dunno if that would ever happen to me, when i played BBCTB as pretty much my first fighting it left me with such a bad experience and trauma for fighting games touching one just has me get immediately frustrated and angry, my friends have learnt that if i play a fighting game no one is having a good time
I’ve always been a few notches above casual when it comes to fighting games. Always had a ton of appreciation for them and loved playing them my whole life but aside from smash I never seriously played any of them competitively. Street Figther 6 is the first time I’ve been hooked on just grinding ranked matches in a traditional fighter and thanks to modern controls and world tour doing a great job at teaching a lot of core mechanics I feel like I was eased into things without much intimidation. I currently have a Silver Kimberly which I know is nothing special but I’m still just having a blast playing every day when I can learning new combos. This game is really something special for the genre I think!
I've always been on the casual side of fighting games as well. Primarily played them for the arcade mode rather than the online. I've also never really touched Street Fighter as much and have primarily been a Tekken and MK fan for majority of my life. But SF6 is really hitting all the right notes with me. I'm definitely loving The Hub and getting to socialize before sparring with people in the center haha. I'm really digging this game and hope that other fighting games follow through with this style of gameplay. It's really engaging.
I'm so glad to hear you say that you always stunk at fighters 'cause so did I. Then I played the Demo of SF6 ('cause it was just so dang purdy like a shiny bauble) and really enjoyed it. So I pre-ordered it but chickened out 2 days before. I just watched the first 3 minutes of your 'Before You Buy' and I bought the PS5 version again - sort of. Thanks buddy for the pizza.
I haven't played a game this polished for a long time. Elden Ring comes close, but SF6 is just so impeccably done. The art design, the gameplay, the music, the overall tone, the bazillion of different game modes, the customizability, the list goes on and on. GOTY for me.
I just left a locals where we held a tournament and I gotta say this is the most loved fighting game in the FGC. The new director looked SFV's in-house decisions and rebuked them. Everyone in the FGC got something they wanted with SF6. This a new era of fighting games.
I am a big fighting game fan and Street Fighter has been my favorite since ‘93. I think this one has made the series the most approachable for new players. Manon is the best character they’ve introduced in years I love playing as her. Ballet inspired fighter how unique
always appreciate you keeping this real @baldino!!! So great to come over and hear your personal reviews in how much care you have for the gaming community at large.
been wanting to hop on SF for a while now myself, they did such a good job with the onboarding of new players for world tour as well as the tutorials and such. on top of that you can feel the love for the game everywhere, the music, the visuals, the sound. everything is just so good ^^ i'm hoping MK1 and tekken 8 also do well when they do come out. feels like a resurgence of the 3 FGs in the 90's
Yes I’m excited for the new mk in a few months. But idk man this games got a lot of style. I wish the roster was a litttllleee bigger but we are getting rashid soon so that’s good !! What little I’ve played I really enjoy.
@@jamesgratz4771 right i guess the roster on release was smaller than mk11 and t7 on release, not sure how big sf5 cast was on release though. i'm sure they'll give this game lots of support considering how much sf5 got though :D
Never been a fighting game enjoyer but I did play MK and Tekken when I was younger but very casual and only when I was with friends. I did try to get good and dedicate to learning more about fighting games when Injustice came out and honestly it was very fun. However, I always noticed Street Fighter and was very familiar with the characters. So when SF4 came out on mobile, I tried it out and it was cool but it seemed a bit more challenging than Injustice, especially since it was a mobile game with limited controls. All that said, I was really drawn in to SF6 and I only took notice of it about a week before release. I had to buy it and I’m really happy with it so far. It does seem like a great game to get people into the franchise with how starter friendly it is with so many tools, modes, and guides. I’ve heard a lot of praise from fans so I got a good feeling about this one
Hi Jake, just found your channel and I love it. I wanted to give a little background I’m an individual with cerebral palsy and use an electric wheelchair. I have always wanted to get into gaming but the technology was never there when I grew up fast-forward to 2023 and Sony is coming out with an accessibility controller For people like me. So in July of this year I bought my first consul, which was the PlayStation five and I have been addicted ever since. What year for gaming especially for someone who’s new to gaming in general. All of this is to say that I’m rapidly discovering that fighting genre is probably, my favorite genre to play. I have finished injustice and injustice 2 and have bought Mortal Kombat one and I’m about to buy streetfighter six and pre-order tekken 8. I love this genre so much along with survival horror. I’m happy to have my PlayStation keep up the good work.
I loved SF2 back in the arcades and genesis days, but missed out on the PlayStation era greats (Capcom vs. SNK 2 is maybe my favorite fighting game I've played?) because I was on Xbox. Got back into the series with 4 and gave loved every minute of it. SF4 was THE bro night game in the 360 era alongside NHL. I love seeing what Capcom is doing with SF6. The game plays as tight and technical as ever, but between World Tour mode and modern controls, they've done a great job of broadening the appeal without compromising gameplay. My cousin's wife who "played some Tekken back in the day" whipped my ass using Modern Controls, and I was pulling out all the stops. That's when I knew this was something special. Bonus points for essentially making a new Final Fight INSIDE a Street Fighter game. So glad to hear non-hardcore fighting game players enjoying this so much! Keep up the great work Jake. You continue to be one of my favorite gaming channels.
As a avid Fighting game fan of 10 years +. This game is something special for real... glad to hear you're enjoying the journey so far...see you in a year 😏
I’m actually extremely satisfied with SF6. I’m usually not a full price spender on games anymore due to how many there are, but SF6 is worth it. Especially since it’s a $60 tag and not $70. My favorite part about the game is adding something like world tour, it makes me think about how SOR4 integrated battle mode into the game and it really works because the characters fight in a style that can be comparable to say a SF to some degree. Tekken Force which started in tekken 3 comes to mind as well, I feel it’s always a plus to have some extras to be more than just a “fighting game”.
I’m so excited about this game for all the reasons you bring up here. I just started to get my feet sunk into fighting games as I just recently “got” Guilty Gear Strive. I am now able to actually climb the tower! So Street Fighter 6 is coming in with PERFECT timing, here. Jake, I’ve been just like you, always wanting to break into SF games. Now I feel like I’m actually doing it. I’m also with you re: Cammy 👀, with Manon coming in hot as well now. Here’s to having one hell of a video games season already 😎
The FGC is absolutely in love with this game and a must say for a street fighter game this game is a MASTERPIECE!! those short little character intro cutscenes in world tour mode are so dope!!!
I loved fighting games as a kid. I'm 37, so they were big when I was young. I played several MK games, beginning with the first, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat III ended up as my favorite at that time. I also had Street Fighter 2 Turbo which I played a ton of. Always fun using special abilities of each character. But now, I'm even less than casual. Mortal Kombat X on PS3 made me rage so much that I decided fighting games are no longer for me. I recently played the SF6 demo and I enjoyed it, but it is hard for me to pick up and understand since my last SF was back in the SNES era. Like you, I used modern controls for a while and ultimately went to classic so I could feel more responsible for what I'm doing. Based on your footage, you're way better than me now. Maybe because you've played a lot more than I have or maybe it just clicks with your brain a lot better than it does with mine. I'm sure both reasons are true, but I think you also pick it up easier than I do now. Overall, I think it's a cool game. I'd love to play more than what the demo had to offer, but I'm too casual about it to feel comfortable with buying the full game. Maybe in a couple years.
I played old SF casually on SNES, SF2 ans 2 Turbo, and then MvC 1 @ 2 in arcades, but after that I fell off the bus. I watched all the anime because I did fall in love with the characters as a kid, and all the anime adaptations kept my love for the characters and world going through my teenage years, but thats it. SF6 is really all I ever wanted from a Street Fighter game so far! I'm 30 hours of played time in, and though I play other games, I will be playing SF6 for a long time.
Honestly I just enjoy how awesome Capcom has been as a company since Resident Evil 7. If there's a company that I hope neither MS or Sony buy it's this one.
I'm in the exact same position as you Jake. I've always dreaded competitive online modes in fighting games. I'm absolutely loving playing ranked and slowly improving in SF6. Fantastic game❤
I’m late to the vid but I 100% agree. I grew up with fighting games. My dad and I are huge brawling/ beat ‘em up of any kind styled game. Street Fighter is my all time favorite abd this one REALLY has revived the franchise. The new wave of being in a current society world, the iconic OGs being mentors you can grow to meet and know, mastering the styles you like, and learning how to use the controls assisted then grow to not use it so you can actually get better. Plus creating a character was a smart move for the story. My buddy and I already past lvl 60 and we’ve been practicing, fighting each other, and I’m inching into online. Lol but you can tell who’s cheesing, bc all they do is jump, and then the OG SF players who don’t jump as much but are FAST and react methodically.
Wow! Jake, I always think you are the dude I was hoping I would become. Anyway, total on par with you on this series. You really seem to be my brother from another mother in terms of games. Well done on what you have created.
I went in to this game having not played much of the street fighter series since SF Alpha 2 came out on Sega Saturn. SF 6 looks and feels like the street fighter game that is made for long time fans of the series, as well as being appealing enough to attract new players . SF6 is going to remembered to many as the fighting game that turned them on to fighting games.
I'm honestly really enjoying the story for the World Tour mode. Of course I went into it with pretty low expectations, but it's delivered a great time so far. I think I'm most of the way through at this point, and still totally hooked. Waay better than I thought we'd see from a Street Fighter game -- like an awesome modern Final Fight game remixed with SF battles. Well paced, lots of learning baked in.. fairly genius stuff.
Insane Jake, we have the exact same experience with fighting games. Soul Calibur was the best I ever got at fighting games and I actually got pretty good (Ivy main), but everything else was always like, “yeah I’d like to be good, but meh.”
Grew up playing MvC and X-Men vs. Street Fighter. I stopped playing fighting games until the Killer Instinct reboot came out, and dedicated almost a year straight to ranked mode so I could be Killer rank. It's kind of a tradition now to reset my rank every year and grind back up the ranks. (Screw season 3 characters though, OP AF)
This video actually made my decision, I’m buying it now, after playing league of legends for like 10 years and no other game, I wanted to always get back into fighting games and this video helped me make my decision, thank you for this video!
As also somewhat a newbie, Ive really found the modern control scheme and depth of the practise mode really helpful to learn fundamentals and combos - however Ive really struggled with World Tour; initially I found it to be a good way to learn the basic of the game, but Im really not a fan of open worlds and/or doing boring side/fetch quests within them just making you run around; I also find the city you spend most of your time in really uncompelling and often awkward to find your way to certain places - so I've quite quickly become bored of World Tour unfortunately.
I been a SF player since SFII so for me is just always exciting with any new SF game, and yes this one is pretty damn amazing, finally some of my friends who just play smash start playing the game, not sure if they will keep consistence to get better, but we all having fun and this is a very accessible game not sure if say the most accessible....SFV was pretty easy to learn in terns of mechanics, but in terms of controllers, Modern Controllers since to be a very well way to ease the transition, and I'm super happy more people are trying the game, hope you guys enjoy your time with this new entry in a series I love very dear to my heart....and Cammy is also my favorite character XD.
I’ve always wanted to try more fighter games and SF6 has been a great intro. I get heavy Yakuza vibes too. Makes me want to go to back to 5 and continue the series.
I’m old school fgc. Now I’m old and just a casual family man. But I’m so happy that SF6 is seemingly back to Capcom golden years. Nice to see lots of new people finding Street Fighter. That’s how the community grows. Can’t wait to watch the tournaments. I haven’t settled on a main but I’m having tons of fun with Marisa because of so satisfying punish combos and BIG damage. Juri, that feng shui engine make combos so fun. Jamie, rekka play style reminds me of my old mains Yang and Fei Long. I’m gonna try Cammy next, she seems so much more fun than her SF4/5 counterparts.
I'm in the same boat as Jake not really into fighting games but gotta love the new story adventure modes! I'll definitely get this game but not paying $70 for it
Thanks so much for this video Jake! I can relate so much to your relationship with fighting games. Always liked them from Tekken to MK but I never understood Street Fighter. I really wanted to understand it but the combo system etc seemed so foreign to me compared to the others. You have given me the push I needed to give this a shot. Thanks so much again!
I’m also new to SF, couldn’t really get into the other ones (also visually looked weird to me). This one though feels so much more accessible and way more polished. The character design is impeccable, you can tell a lot of love went into it. I love that they’re using the RE engine, looks great. Similar to DMC5, Capcom is killing it these days.
Street Fighter 6 came at a good time for me, I had recently purchased King of Fighters XV and playing with the CPU for about 2 months now. I'd do the Trials and practice at least 1 hours every day and I was barely scratching the surface on all the mechanics and how the characters I had picked played. I'm glad to say that I found SF6 a lot easier to get into and equally as fun. I'm a sucker for fighting games but I've always sucked at them and used to get a lot more frustrated with them when I was younger. Now I'm pushing 26 years and I can finally appreciate the genre and how well these modern games are put together. I hope we can be blessed with more great fighting games and that Capcom keeps delivering.
With the next Tekken and Mortal Kombat on the way, I was going to slip this. But I didn't and don't regret it. Love the World Type mode, can't wait to see more of this Street Fight er world they've created.
Great videos, really appreciate your passion/nerdiness. Keep’em coming. I’m very similar. I’m not good at fighting games but I like them. You’ve sold me on this new SF. Thanks.
I played fighting games very casually for years and finally got into them more seriously with Street Fighter 5. It's great seeing more people get their hands dirty in Street Fighter 6. Maybe you'll also go from having no arcade sticks to owning 3 of them with this game like I did with 5. Even with a lot of experience with 5, I'm having a tough time wrestling with managing SF6's drive meter in ranked play but it still has been a lot of fun. Also "sick ass or cool boobs" absolutely killed me. Definitely working those into the rotation of compliments towards the wife.
Capcom has been winning lately. I'm a casual but never liked how SF controled. SF6 feels okay and world tour mode was enjoyable in the demo and I'm excited to continue my adventure. Now if only Capcom would consider bringing back Power Stone or Rival Schools. That would be lit.
Playing MK and injustice for their high production campaigns is something I've always done and then I'd always let Ai do the tower/ multiverse stuff for me so i can get cool cosmetics because doing them made me feel bad at games but in a bad way. SF6 so far especially world tour I couldn't have asked for a better introduction and tutorial, there's enough in modern to make you experience the movesets without making you too good that if you came up against someone good with classic, they'd kick your ass
The first fighting game I’ve ever played was Mortal Kombat Armageddon on the original Xbox, I’ve been a MK fan ever since but never really got into Street Fighter aside from playing it at a friends house. I think from what I’ve heard SF6 will be the gateway game for me.
I dabbled a bit in SFIV and some of the older ones, but have always been terrible. However, I love the character designs and aesthetic of Street Fighter. This game has been a treat and has been a really good teacher for me!
I've also been dealing with the deluge of games right now, but have been doing world tour mode in order to get my hands around it. i was very competitive with SF3 and Alpha, but dropped off hard with 4 and 5. This one feels like it's pulling me back in. But Diablo and Tears are still eating up most of my free time.
My guy Baldino knows Cammy is the the GOAT for a plethora of reasons. Good mix-ups, brilliant rushdown moves with a little bit of grappling and good combo potential, and ofc, we're all hornt af.
I'm a huge fan of street fighter... The first game o had in my life was SF2 champion edition on the genesis... And SF6 is absolutely amazing... There's no complains about it at all. Capcom didn't hold back on this game... Is such a great video game and amazing Fighting game... The system is amazing (even not totally balanced yet) the characters are really fun to play... The feel and gameplay is such a great experience.. Couldn't be happier about SF6.
I don’t play online games. I started because of this game. Amazing. Arcade mode. Training while waiting for matchmaking. I’m addicted. The classic controls all the way.
I cant imagine not knowing the appeal of street fighter. Like what did you do when you would wait for your movie to start or for you table to be ready at the restaurant? There used to be a street fighter 2 cabinet everywhere.
The fighting in this is addictive , I don't like modern controls but I can see why new players would. It's awesome BUT it needs sagat !!!!! Plz capcom! 👍👍👍👍👍
I already spent 8 hours just playing online as Ken because of how addictive the gameplay is and polished the mechanics are. Haven't even gotten to World Tour yet but truly excited to get lost in it!
Been playing it street fighter since 2. The world tour is amazing, im already at level 70. Amazing game play, already beat the world tour but so much to do afterwards.
Hey Jake, not sure if you know but there is an option to make World tour run at 60FPS. Glad you liked the game, we need more people trying this game out. Its truly is one of the best (maybe even the best) fighting games made. They hit a homerun with this one.
As a kid growing up playing Virtua Fighter and Tekken in the arcades and mastering long combos/throw chains I’m all for the causal control options for players. My brain is still full of old moves and new things rarely find an empty spot :)
I'm going through some old episodes of the Friends Per Second podcast that I never listened to at release, and immediately came here after Skill Up couldn't stop laughing when talking about the "everyone has a sick ass, or cool boobs" line, and it is absolutely sending me into orbit 😂 Love your perspective here though Jake! I'm very much in the same boat as you when it comes to fighting games, and love playing the single player story modes.
I've dabbled in fighting games here and there but haven't truly got sucked into one. But Street Fighter 6? This is it. This is the game that really clicked for me.
Recently, I started catching up on PS4, so the first of the interesting games I launched was Tekken 7 and Mortal Kombat X. For a casual player, re-entering Tekken was not that difficult, knowing Hwoarang, my main character from previous games, quite well. In MKX, I mastered the basics of each character pretty quickly to complete a tower with each and eventually move on to MK11. And here it starts to be a bit overwhelming, because when I mastered the basic Kung Lao combo in MKX, so in MK11 I repeat a different, similar combo over and over again, it comes out much harder for me in training, not to mention bringing it out in a proper fight. The level of accessibility of the new MK has drastically increased to the level of more tournament players. I hope that the newest MK1 will not push so much in this direction. And abaut Street Fighter to catch up with Sfvi I need to know sfv first
I’m really into fighting games and overall SF6 is a W for the whole community. SF is often seen as the soul of the FGC, and they really knocked it out of the park. There will be tournaments and content for the better part of the next decade, no doubt. Oddly enough, after participating in the beta and the demo, I decided not to pick it up. Once you get into fighting games, you understand there are sub-genres within the genre. SF just ain’t for me. But I’m really happy for the community and the success and attention it is bringing to it.
I'm a massive fighting game fan and competitor and I tried to get my casual friends into SFV. It just never worked because the game had no content and they couldn't get past the initial execution barrier. But SF6 is a totally different story and they're all absolutely loving SF6.
Come one come all! I encourage everyone to try this one out, it really is a great game for new players. Here is my one tip, once you get online and start fighting other players, remember that most of the people you fight are just like you, learning what to do and not do, some may have played other games, many will be new to FGs. The important thing is don't demonize your opponent, you are both there to have fun and learn, you aren't "enemies" just competitors during the match. Keep it light, don't stress about winning or losing, don't compare to others, and learn at your own pace. Enjoy the little things like landing a combo for the first time, or getting the hang of countering drive impact. Just have fun, if you can do that fighting games can be amazing.
I have mostly the same story Jake, and i have had such a blast with SF6 in a way that no other fighting game has. It honestly almost feels like Marvel Snap to me.. in a weird way. Maybe this SF is slightly slower paced?
My friend plays street fighter, and I wanted to try it again. I’ve played it years ago. My favorite character right now is ryu and ken is a close second.
Anyone that wants to jump more into the world of Street Fighter, watch the animated movies. Most are on youtube and really fun. You'll get to see the background of these classic characters and their really fun.
I know I really like Street Fighter for its characters but couldn't really jump in as a casual who hasn't played much fighting games outside NetherRealm, cause the six button scheme is extremely complicated to me and I don't have good timing to try and nail the special moves and supers. I am honestly very thankful for Capcom making it more accessible for folks like me who struggle with the classic six button controls.
I hope the success of this game leads to a new Marvel vs Capcom game
A good one this time 🤞🏻

As a longtime SF player, I think the single player mode is brilliant - specifically, it takes the things that make learning a fighting game daunting (…grinding, gradually increasing skills, losing a lot) and discouraging to new players and wraps it up in this fun little harmless cute package. Learning any established fighting game involves losing to players a lot, which is discouraging and demoralizing, but this basically replicates the experience without the moral injury. Which makes it funny to me that longtime fans are hating on it.
They blurred the line between fighting game and beat'em up

This was a great addition to the regular Arcade and online features traditionally in fighting games.

As a life long MMA hobbyist this resonates with me.
Hi! As a fairly well established member of the FGC man, it’s amazing to see you jump on this dude. SF6 is getting a lot of love from the community because it’s also loved by people new to it. 🎉
I’ve never heard of you in the FCG. Maybe take it down a notch with your arrogance.
Another Capcom fanboy. Don’t trust this guys opinion, the game is a mess.

I just left a locals where we held a tournament and I gotta say this is the most loved fighting game in the FGC.
The new director looked SFV's in-house decisions and rebuked them.
Everyone in the FGC got something they wanted with SF6. This a new era of fighting games.
Cammy that’s the best thing about it CAMMY! have you seen Cammy 👀
Chun li as well
Down bad…
I’m the same
Yeah but have you seen Cammy
I am a big fighting game fan and Street Fighter has been my favorite since ‘93. I think this one has made the series the most approachable for new players. Manon is the best character they’ve introduced in years I love playing as her. Ballet inspired fighter how unique
And judo. One other thing too but I forget
always appreciate you keeping this real @baldino!!!

This is my first fighting hame, I absolutely suck and I'm loving it! The small wins and slow learning process is very satisfying
I felt the same about mk 11 when I played it . The tutorials really helped me see the possibilities of the game and to enjoy it much much more.
Sony buying capcom would be good. Not lbox
World Tour is pretty fun and a great way for new players to learn basically all characters.
I never played a fighting game and your feedback on the game makes me want to try it for the adventure story mode.
I'm loving Street fighter 6 so far. I hope it sells well because it's probably the best street fighter since Street fighter 2
Insane Jake, we have the exact same experience with fighting games. Soul Calibur was the best I ever got at fighting games and I actually got pretty good (Ivy main), but everything else was always like, “yeah I’d like to be good, but meh.”
Awesome that you made a video about it, definetly my Game of The Year
Grew up playing MvC and X-Men vs.
Its been forever since my son and i were competitive in a video game. This game has brought that fire back to our house
Just 1 thing.
Jakes head on the hotdog at the end is gold!
I agree with everything you said, ive always loved the look of the series and loved hearing people talk about it
I’m old school fgc.
Good man Jake. I knew nothing about SF in 2009 and after 3 years playing #4 my Sagat was top 500 on xb. It's a game you never stop learning.
With the next Tekken and Mortal Kombat on the way, I was going to slip this. But I didn't and don't regret it. Love the World Type mode, can't wait to see more of this Street Fight er world they've created.
The thing about street fighter this game will only improve with time with more characters costumes and possibly mechanics
Street Fighter is child's play, though. Saving my coins for MK1.

You called Heihachi "Haiachi" and I loved it! Pure casual way rulez! ;D
World Tour mode is the singular reason I bought SF6 its so goofy but fun , but Capcom had me at character customization!!! 👍🏿👍🏿
I was always a MK > street fighter fan but street fighter 6 is the first one I bought in decades and I'm happy with it
My knowledge about Street Fighter comes from SF 2 V (the anime), an absolute classic! The Hadouken theme gives me chills to this day.
They added a Dante color variant for Ken. This game is a 10/10.
My favorite part of this whole game is how you can make faces at each other during the vs match up screen. Juri and Lily's are so funny!
I trust your opinion (on video games) so much that I will try it just based on your thumbnail.
Watch Street fighter 2 animated movie to get you more hype about it. It's on RUclips.
This game has everything someone in the FGC wants out of a fighting game. Maybe missing a few characters here and there. Capcom Pro Tour will be hype!
Kings chain throws are awesome !!
I’m just glad we’re back at a point where multiple great games come out in the same month.
I'm going through some old episodes of the Friends Per Second podcast that I never listened to at release, and immediately came here after Skill Up couldn't stop laughing when talking about the "everyone has a sick ass, or cool boobs" line, and it is absolutely sending me into orbit 😂
Love your perspective here though Jake! I'm very much in the same boat as you when it comes to fighting games, and love playing the single player story modes.
I've dabbled in fighting games here and there but haven't truly got sucked into one.
But Street Fighter 6? This is it. This is the game that really clicked for me.
Soul Caliber II will always be seen by rose glasses for me, I loved that game
World tour could be a great opportunity for a spinoff game.
As a massive street fighter fan! We needed this .. best street fighter ever!
SF6 looks amazing! I will be playing it on the PS5. What I am playing at the moment, South Park SoT on Xbox360 & NBA 2K11 on PS3. Real gems!
And abaut Street Fighter to catch up with Sfvi I need to know sfv first
Just got it this morning. I played the demo a couple of weeks ago, loved it. Even though I've never been much of a street fighter player
Last Street Fighter I played was literally at the Arcades and it was SF2...dope times
