Yeah I remember this being said in GT as well, when goku was in ssj4 he said that with every level of super sayian it’s harder for him to listen to reason, that his mind goes primal. Which can explain when he goes ssj3 and 4 he sounds way more serious

People tend to forget that Goku actually used the Spirit Bomb while a Super Sayian. Its that the Super Sayian's more easier to cause Rage interferes with the pure hearted natured needed to Collect the energy. However once its collected already, all you are doing is focusing and channeling said energy. Its how Goku BEAT Buu, which happened BEFORE the ToP
Goku had already gathered energy and launched the Spirit Bomb against Buu before going SSJ though

Except in mastering super saiyan and essentially making it the new base in the Cell Saga, it makes no sense that he wouldn’t be able to form the Genki Dama in the form since it’s been “purified” by the Buu Arc. Every arc after the Cell saga essentially completely overrides the genius of mastering SSJ. In theory, considering that mastering SSJ, Goku can control the power output of it (being able to go full power at will and not automatically) within DBZ it would honestly make more sense to just train their base to it’s absolute peak so that when things gets dicey, you can just stack a 50x power boost on top and be done with it.
Exactly and I may add that back then, he spared Freeza, the epitome of the ultimate mofo, while in SSJ, which was completely unknown to him at the time. He was literally oozing hatred, and was contemplating blasting the hell of what remained of the person responsible for thousands of deaths of innocents, his fellow saiyan whom he was starting to get somewhat cool with, his partner and his dearest, childhood friend. Yet he lifted him and turned his back on him. See what Vegeta did to the Ginyu Tokusentai.

People forget goku and gohan mastered super saiyan so they don’t really have to tap into their inherent rage to turn super saiyan, they’re fully calm and aware of themselves by the cell games when they’re super saiyan

The idea that anger in and of itself is evil is ridiculous.
It’s not that Goku becomes more evil when going super saiyan, it’s just that Frieza pushed Goku to his limits and made him embrace his anger. He uses that rage to turn into a super saying, also it’s less evil and more of wrath, which is a negative emotion but not evil.
I agree. Just because somone has rage doesnt mean there is evil. U can be pure of heart and have rage.

Majin Goku never sounded to interesting in my opinion, like sure, the main character becomes a bad guy, but it feel kind of like unrealistic.
Sure people say that ‘if he unlocked his old memories, he revert back to his old ways.’ But only in the context of just dbz and not super, you really aren’t getting evil goku, he’s just going to remember what he did before and thats it. Like he was a baby and Goku would just be like ‘oh cool, I remember this now.’ How would thar automatically make him go ‘man fuck earth.’ That just seems random.
Plus the whole pure heart thing would probably negate anything babadi does.

He did it to make the Kai piss off because he knew that just threatening him with intent to kill would be enough to spook the Kai. Also even if Goku did pull through with point blank shooting the Kai with a ki blast, he would be doing it for the sake of fighting Vegeta to stop him from killing more people for every second he wastes not fighting him. He had pure of heart intentions behind the actions, but the action needed to follow through with his plan would be a costly one if Kai forced Goku to remove him.

I honestly don’t believe even SSJ Goku could turn into a majin due to the idea that it’s less “evil” and more righteous anger. Remember Zamasu was also still considered pure of heart because he felt that his actions were true Justice. Goku is the exact same way when he becomes a super saiyan

You need pure anger to trigger the super saiyan transformation. Anger makes you want to do harm to satisfy itself, even when your angry to protect someone else.

Breaking free of Babadi's control isn't power based. Vegeta only broke free because he allowed himself to be controlled AND had been asked to do something wholly at odds with himself.
It's a longstanding rule in mind control that you can't ask a person to do something they directly are opposed to as that will have the most resistance. Babadi literally commanded Vegeta ignore Goku and focus on the Kai. If he had given him another command, things wouldn't have been so clear

man I find it kinda sad how Vageta is always getting the short end of the stick, existing literally just to be outdone by Goku lol
I mean, it’s a testament to his character arc in the fact that he’s always been the best so he never had to train, or work to be better cause he was always already the best: that’s a fundamental aspect of who he is. The fact that he’s up against someone (Goku) who is always getting stronger, but does so for the fun of battle (which makes it easier cause you’re not stressed about being better than someone) is the perfect example of “hardwork beating talent” with Vegeta being the epitome of talent, and Goku being the epitome of hardwork.

If you think about it, not just the Oozaru was the first canon Evil Goku in the series, but also when Goku turns SSJ for the first time, he tells Gohan to escape, because he can’t control his new form and he can go to rampage.
So it is not so as pure as we think he should be.
It was just safer in general for Gohan to not be there. I mean he was about to start throwing down with Freeza again.
I was under the impression that the more evil you have in you, the more potent the boost from majin is. So even if Goku did have SOME evil it would be pretty insignificant
I agree up until the end. Vegeta resisting Babidi is more of a willpower thing, not really something that can be quantified of powerscaled to Goku because he has a higher power level, its more of a hax resistance.
I love Young JiJis fan manga explanation on the SSJ forms and how each one of them represented an emotion you had to use to obtain them. I know off from the video, but it was an epic fan manga.

Things that no one noticed in the movie about the return of the androids: Goku didn't do the Genkidama in the Super Saiyan form, he did it in the base form, after it was done, turned into a Super Saiyan, and while containing his emotions, he absorbed the energy of the genkidama
I think super saiyan letting evil creep into Goku's heart is a bad way to phrase it. I think it makes more sense if they phrased it as the form letting his emotions control him before lettings his calm and collected mind, trained all the way from the beginning, do the thinking. That practically also explains the awakening behind UI, his training clicked where as before he was focused too much on strength
in the manga Super Saiyan Gokus' dialogue box is framed like villains, implying that Super Saiyan does affect his purity along with 2 and 3
Maybe Ssj4 goku would allow him to be mind controlled since he even stated that he loses control in that form

Sooo most of that happened during Goku's youth, it's not impossible that he grew arrogant and and battle hungry with age and that it caused a small trace of "evil' to form within him as a result
And without Super's many retcons, Goku stays pure as a SSJ if you buy the Android 13 movie as evidence.

If you go by movies, in the android 13 movie, Goku was able to absorb a spirit ball while in ssj form, which made krillin say, “even in super saiyan, he’s still pure of heart” or something along those lines
The Only Way babidi takes control of goku is only when he turns super saiyan because When goku turns into SSJ His heart will mix with great anger and it is one of the negative emotions that can be controlled
Fun fact in one of the dragon ball games the devil might beam can hurt goku as long as he is in his super saiyan form but he is immune to it if he is in his base form
Super Saiyan doesn't make him evil. It just makes him more ruthless. The reason why he can't gather genki as a Super Saiyan is because your heart needs to be calm and pure. Super Saiyan creates an environment where that is impossible.
The literal only way I could see Majin Goku working, would be if Bobbidi was to somehow flip Goku’s personality to what it would’ve been, if he had never hit his head.
Then it could theoretically happen, but again it’s still something I could see Goku eventually, breaking out of.
