As far as I remember this was the first hitsingle for Girl. I was 1981 in London and had the great pleasure to meet the boys, esp. Gerry and Phil Lewis. This brings me back to those days, like it was yesterday. I'm still in love with Phil... And I'm really proud of what they made of their talents. Phil Collen in Def Leppard, Gerry is a multi-artist with painting, music, movies and bringing out new talents to Art. Sadly I don't know what Simon is doing now. In my time the drummer was a guy named Brilo (?), don't know either was he's doing now. And LA Guns are very busy now with reunion-touring and a new album next year.
Decent cover. A little rocking. Nice band look, kind of like Def Leppard meets New York Dolls. I like the mannequins. I wish they'd come alive like in Alice Cooper's only women bleed. Fun.......
Mark J, you are aware that the guitar player on the right with the red les Paul is in fact Phil Collen - the guy that plays guitar in Def Leppard since 1982? (Although, nowadays mainly without any shirt...)
JASON DIMEBAG no....it's a GIRL song that was COVERED by KISS.Phil LEWIS was at least co-writer of this and the song "My number",that my bros in Stiff, then Lillian Axe remade in the late 80's early 90s. Both the Girl LP s are bad a**!
mike lambert absolutely false. This song was written by Kim Fowley, Bob Ezrin and Paul Stanley. released on Destroyer 1976 and covered by this band (Girl) in 1980. read the Destroyer album credits.
drummerkid71 NOT!! IT was written by PHIL LEWIS.SAYS SO ON THE GIRL LP AND THE PRE-LILLIAN AXE "STIFF" LP which says lyrics by "P. LEWIS and K.Fowley,so KID but you are wrong dude,I'd bet my Jackson Randy Rhoads on it. I'm looking. at both the Stiff record AND the Destroyer right now and Paul Stanley's name is not on the credits.
got to admit this version is good but funny thing about it and the original version is that both have a very bay city rollers kind of sound in the melody etc. but then again some bay city rollers songs rocked good too so come what may go back and listen to rollers rocking songs ...then listen to this...I know damn well I right in this opinion I was into b.c.r. And kiss backin the1970s you tell me kiss didn’t hear b.c.r. Before writing the song ???
Ryan Hemming no, you’re a big Def Leppard fan so you think this shit sounds good but Phil’s guitar work here ain’t shit compared to Paul & Ace’s on the original 1976 recording, this garbage blows nothing away.
Phil Lewis later to front L.A. Guns and Phil Collin who would I think replace Steve Clark of Def lepard correct me if I'm wrong but 100% Phil Lewis was the singer for LA Guns.
Do You Love Me was written by Kim Fowley, Bob Ezrin (producer of KISS’ Destroyer, which this song appeared on)...and KISS’ Paul Stanley. What are you on about?
this is one of the coolest sounding bands i've ever heard
I agree.
Do you love me?I could fall in love when I see Phil Lewis and Gerry Laffy in this Video!!!

Looks like Phil Collin from Def Lep...!
The best Kiss cover I've ever heard, and I've heard a lot of 'em.
I thing Garth Brooks doing Hard Luck Woman is great. First time I ever heard Poison was on the radio sing Rock N Roll all Night
They wrote this Song. Kiss covered it.
@ryandeanlindgren9054 Do you love me was on Destroyer in 1976. This version came out in 1980
Whoa ... this is awesome
Phil Lewis Rocks!!!
the japan only CD, killing time shows, the could
get bigger 👍👏
I Love It !!!!
Sheer Greed is a beautiful album.
Loved Girl, awesome studio albums.
Have you heard The Struts cover of Do You Love Me? Released last summer.
Decent cover. A little rocking. Nice band look, kind of like Def Leppard meets New York Dolls. I like the mannequins. I wish they'd come alive like in Alice Cooper's only women bleed. Fun.......
Actually, if you didn't know, Phil Collen from Def Leppard was in this band BEFORE he joined Def Leppard.
@@emmamartin9397 correct

A good cover I have to say.wish rock could go back to this!
Awesome!!!
Great, great band. Should have been massive.
I like this version over Kiss, honestly
Should have been huge, but were, probably, too early for the 80’s glam revival and too late for the 70’s one. They had the perfect front man.
I've always liked there version better for some reason, great band
SOOOOO Amazing!!!
the first glam metal band
Very good one.
Not a great version but -thumbs up for Phil Lewis .... well..... Because He is PFL!!!!!!!!
Awesome :)
Oh my lanta... This just proves that Phil Lewis has always been hot.
My celebrity crush is Phil Lewis. He’s HOT!
Phil COllen looks so.... unusual with hair
I’ve heard somewhere that Gene Simmons didn’t liked that Girl played this song in one of their live shows lol
Tighter than Kiss's original. Cool.
I heard Phil Collen had joined a punk band Lucy before Girl.
Is this phol collens old band?
I like it, but I Love "Hollywood Tease" "My Number" and their other songs. Didn't Kim Fowley write this song?
+transistersis Its a kiss song
+transistersis He co-wrote it with Stanley and Bob Ezrin.

WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN---
I love this, just love it.-3
An old Kiss classic from the Love Gun album (circa 1975) ;)
Phil Collen looks like Rod Stewart in drag.
Phil Lewis rocks in the LA Guns days but was he on the partrich family?? LOL.. Dave Cassidy? :P
got to admit this version is good but funny thing about it and the original version is that both have a very bay city rollers kind of sound in the melody etc. but then again some bay city rollers songs rocked good too so come what may go back and listen to rollers rocking songs ...then listen to this...I know damn well I right in this opinion I was into b.c.r. Guitars are massive - Its Phil Collen from Def Leppard on guitar! Blows away Kiss
Ryan Hemming + Your stoned!! This version sucks, as well as the band.
Ryan Hemming no, you’re a big Def Leppard fan so you think this shit sounds good but Phil’s guitar work here ain’t shit compared to Paul & Ace’s on the original 1976 recording, this garbage blows nothing away.
Ill advised production and performance. There are some damn fine songs on Sheer Greed, but this ain't one of them.
Phil Lewis later to front L.A. Guns and Phil Collin who would I think replace Steve Clark of Def lepard correct me if I'm wrong but 100% Phil Lewis was the singer for LA Guns.
Phil replaced Pete Way during the High and Dry tour.
at least this version does rock
They should have been massive. At the time nwobhm audiences couldn't forgive them for wearing make up.
This singer has the balls to say Kiss sucks!! Not compared to this crap!!
Thin Lizzy would have done a great version of this song as well.
OMG, Phil.... XD
JoviMaynardUrban Lewis or Collen?
@MetallicBill Leppard stopped rocking after High N Dry.
what about Die Hard the Hunter, Don't Shoot Shotgun, their cover of Action, heck even Lets Go.
Pre-Wig Phil Lewis.
Better than original!
The girl at the end looks familiar.
Shannen Doherty
Parecem td mulher principalmente o vocalista hsuahushauhsa
The girl looks familiar
damn this blows
@Johnny Cade What are you even talking about? Paul Stanley wrote this song with Bob Ezrin and Kim Fowley, so yeah, Kiss did write it
@@josephstaub6967 KISS did not write those songs! LOL! This song was already ten years old before Destroyer...
I t really does!
This isn't a kiss cover. Kiss did not write this song!!!
I believe Paul Stanley co-wrote this.
How did he get his name on the writing credit?
Do You Love Me was written by Kim Fowley, Bob Ezrin (producer of KISS’ Destroyer, which this song appeared on)...and KISS’ Paul Stanley.
What are you on about?
Def didn't like this, can't beat the original. This song sounds better live than on destroyer
Limp
Lol, this was sooo bad...bless em
... ... ...
Rotflmmfao
🤦♂️
I like L.A.Guns but this just sucks lol best leave this tune to Paul Stanley :)
+Phil Grundy In your opinion.
MrJDCUSA also in my opinion and 2000+ KISS fans here sitting with me....
No. I do not love you.
dont like this cover at ll
This is horrible.
not as good as KISS
Wow, that was terrible! One of the worst produced songs ever.
Phil Collen looks like Rod Stewart.
ㅋㅋㅋ
i don't like it
Nirvana did a better cover
...just kidding
