    4:11 how are you gonna show all that footage for p3 but show only one move for metaphor?

    I feel like most of your criticisms are based on things that would be almost impossible for this sort of game to achieve.
    Its kind of diffcult for a game like this to have a fully working election system and a cohesive story that follows your progress.
    And then you make the comparison with p3re and metaphor felt a bit disengenious given that almost every atlus game has the problem of running thru battles.
    And you showed multiple theurgies, and then metaphor showed one synthesis attack. If your point was that metaphor isnt as flashy then yeah i guess your right but you didnt need to do allat

      Hey thank you, I appreciate your comment. Originally this was meant to be a much longer and more in-depth review of the game, but I shortened it because it was running on longer than I had time to edit for. (I had, like, 20 subs before this video) I appreciate you writing this out though because it seems like my primary pain points still came through.
      1) The game is what they make it. They could have removed the election counter entirely and the game would play out exactly the same. If they wanted to integrate it; just tie it in with the deadline system. You have to be X rank by Y date or you get a game over, for example. But the fact it exists to arbitrarily reward you for completing meat-skewer challenges is just funny. Discounts at shops, supporters sending you fan mail, unlocking new side-activities or social links early, etc etc. If it were tied to literally any mechanic whatsoever, I wouldn't have brought it up in this video.
      2) I've played p3re, 4, and 5 completely and the only one of those I even felt remotely close to having to grind through battles was 4 due to its age, and metaphor is worse about it because-
      3) There's not a lot you can do to iterate on turn-based combat so Persona solves that through presentation. Pass turn animations, all out attacks, team/showtime combos, 2D/3D cut-ins, menu animations, that cool 2D/3D match cut after dealing the final blow- this stuff not only makes combat way more tolerable to sit through but adds personality to the characters themselves. Synthesis attacks also feel like watered down theurgies since not only are they not tied to the character, but half of them actually seem like they're supposed to be funny comedy moves which tonally doesn't match at all with a game featuring heavy themes of racism and social class struggle. I don't expect them to reinvent the wheel with every game but Metaphor truly is just lacking really cool forms of presentation their other games have already done successfully and it's not even attempting to replace them. Things are just straight up missing.
      Video games are art and presentation matters. Even though Metaphor takes a lot of inspiration from Bosch's oil paintings in its designs it does so superficially. There's a disconnect in this game between taking old things and making something new but familiar with them. I regret not making a longer and more serious review; I would have torn into this game even more.

      @@DukeModecorrect me if im wrong but in 3 you’re saying that metaphor has less personality than persona or less style because its not deeply focused on the characters like how persona is. One last thing i feel like you’re arguing about something persona has always done for the social confidants or followers
      also good video i think the usage of fantasy is dead is interesting because you called it boring/ unimaginative and i feel like thats fair and unfair
      ( ps you’re arguing about the JESTER archetype)

    Its a grinding snooze fest.
    Classes are sparatic, overly-diffused, and way to confusing. Crap show
    The graphics are ASS in overworld

      If you find the class system to be sparatic, overly-diffused, and confusing, then the game isn't for you since you obviously can't read or don't go out of your way to make bonds. Because it's a really simple to understand system, and if you are ranking your bonds, you get new classes basically all the time. Before even finishing the first dungeon, you can have upwards of 6 Archetypes, and as soon as you finish that dungeon, you can get at least 2 more right away.
