Heismay. Next question. But for real. He’s the badass, caring, but also adorable father figure we all wanted even though most of us didn’t think we needed it.
And yanno wut sucks?? It’s not gonna win GOTY bc for some stupidass reason SOTE is nominated. Even though just a few years ago, Phantom Liberty, which I *also* liked more than Elden Ring, WASNT eligible for GOTY. I do love Elden ring with a passion, but Metaphor…..is on a whole different level. GOTY no question. No QUESTION.
I dunno, shadow was absolutely huge and was essentially a sequel more than dlc. It should’ve been sold standalone. Metaphor I agree should be goty, but I gotta give it to sote, it was downright magical and mystical. Better than base Elden ring in terms of the sense of wonder and being enveloped in a huge event
@@Sleepingdogs94 Japanese games deserve goty this year. But why do folks want Wukong to be GOTY spite it has lower score than Sophie 2, calling this Japanese game killer? Why do they hate Japanese games so much with metascore over 90?
Yeah, i love the game, its absolutely fantastic and keeps me guessing. Love the challenges it provides. Love that everything in it is a metaphor, very poignant.
This is now my new favorite game and i completely agree with with everything you said even your negative points u nailed it, this game is a close to a flawless game yet it has it flaws which i agree with yours, the only thing i don't agree with you is the archetype, i think u nailed it but u said it would be better if they stick with one of each character which i don't agree here, cuz i love that they give me optionz for more customization, persona has where each character have there own unique ones and i didn't like that, so i love that metaphor have where each character can have different archetypes and yes later they will have there own unique one and that fine but i Don't need to equip those, i can do whatever i want that what i love about this game i have the option to do whatever i want, but i also i can still remain with the characters own archetype the choice is mine, so yeah that's the only thing i disagree with u other then that this is an excellent review 👍👍👏👏 keep it up buddy ❤️❤️ i wish you the best, and yes i agree with u on the enemy and the side dungeons yes they needed to be better lol 😂 but tbh if u played an atlus game u won't have this problem hahaha 🤣 as atlus are not known for having engaging side dungeons, heck this is there first time doing actual side dungeons 😂 cuz there previous games they basically just use random generated dungeons haha 😂 anyway see you and hope you have a wonderful day ❤️❤️
This game was absolutely phenomenal. My personal GOTY vote. I love Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree to death but I don’t agree with a DLC being nominated. From Soft is my favorite studio so of course I’d be happy if they did win GOTY but it would also kind of leave a sour taste in my mouth. Metaphor needs DLC in the future or I would even buy an upgraded version of it like Royal or SMT vengeance. The world and characters are way too good and charming to just be a one off.
Give me A post game story with some super bosses to battle against, and I'm there day one. Also I really wish they just did A best DLC/Expansion like A lot of other award shows do. Feels like It would solve A lot of problems.
metaphor is decent, was bit suprised the moment saw the prologue dungeon egg enemy present in the final story dungeon story is typical isekai fodder, the race for throne setting in terms of ranking had so much potential to create storybeats but outside battling other candidates and few dialogue lines along the journey didnt find them to have any meaning outside being obvious plotpoint but atleast the story gets saved by one of the greatest villains (really liked louis twist at the end about being human acting the ying to Wills yang ideology) ng+ is one of the more underwhelming features, especially regicide this could've easily been available for first playthrough as the superboss isnt anything special nor does ng+ really shake things up to begin with... lack of archetype diversity definetly hits in ng+ run as either each party member is magic/physical or hybrid build with some support buffs/debuffs. hope the re-refantazio edition adds 2 months of calender time with more unique locations, dialogue, enemies etc.
I have! I really debated on adding comparisons into this review with them. But I haven't jumped into them since Persona 5 first released and felt like it would be A little disingenuous of me to make comparisons off of memory. But I really want to dive into P3R one of these days.
I think metaphor is a great game, but at the same time I was pretty disappointed with it. When I saw the trailers I thought this game would be a 12/10 but it ended up being like an 8 or 9/10. The horrendous graphics and corny writing that was inherented from persona 5 held this game back a lot for me. I will say though, the music and art style are in a class of their own.
I love your video, but I have to disagree with your take on the Royal Archetypes. IMO, as someone who loves the Archetype system and class system in general most of the time (like Fire Emblem), I generally prefer to stick with the Archetype linages everyone starts with. Like Summoner for example. The main character’s Ultimate Archetype is the Prince, fitting because Will is accepting his role as the one true future king. The Royal Archetypes should be their ultimate forms because it is their Archetype that they started out with. And by the end of the game when Will becomes King, all of the Party Members are Six main companions. So getting the Royal Archetypes suitable to them is proof of their main royals as the “Lodestar, who guides the King to his path.” And besides, it’s already established that each character has a stat they are better at. You won’t catch me red handed using Berserker on Junah, whose base strength stat is god awful. Plus I think making the Royal Archetypes useable by everyone strips them of their uniqueness value. Especially the Prince Archetype.
That's fair and appreciate you taking the time to type this out. Always love hearing how others feel about the games I review. Also, as A side note. I've never played A Fire Emblem game and feel like I need to change that.
Only problem I had with total arctypes is most of them suck. Prince is OP royal berserker is nutty and royal summoner is cracked the rest are mid or trash like royal knight lol wow that's bad 😊
@ I never thought Royal Knight was bad. Maybe not as good as the other Royal Archetypes, but far from bad. I always saw Hulkenburg as a support engine. The fact that Noble Knight’s Soul gets you an Extra Turn on your next round after using (Holy) Knight’s Proclamation (anything that gets you extra press turns is a bonus for me) is something I couldn’t overlook.
@TheJaredPunch yea it's pretty ass it mains pierce attacks which are the worst in the game and only few archtypes actually have them. Also her royal talents give a turn icon when using a knight skill but since you can mop most enemies in a single turn it's kind of useless. It doesn't do anything particularly well. Especially when you can put heimsmay in the front row with his royal thief and end 95% of enemies turns instantly with his broken royal talents making a tank not as valuable
Although I liked the party members and enjoyed my Time with them I found them pretty flat. They are all basically super nice towards eachother and dont really have any interesting opinions. Heismey for example had this prejudice against paripus because of what happened with his son but that is never really brought up in an Interesting way. The story is also very weak when it comes to the politics. The game never really tries to give any solutions to the many problems the world of Metaphor (and ours) faces. The game admits it in the epilogue as the characters say themselves that there are still many problems unsolved. Which just makes Loius' case stronger since although his plan is messed up beyond anything its atleast a plan. Is the solution to just wait and hope for some chosen prince to arrive one day to fix everything?
I think the main point of the story wasn’t about finding realistic solutions to the worlds problems. It straight up admits that the Utopia proposed is a fantasy and basically couldn’t really be achieved. What I got out of it is that no matter what, people should still at least try and not compromise their values. And not let anxiety and apathy make you just be indifferent and not willing to put forth some effort of your own to be helpful.
Masterpiece is a bit of a stretch there are significantly better stories out here it's not even in the same ballpark of Xenoblade Chronicles there is too much tell and not show in Atlus games and this suffers from it too
This is really the ugliest, most HORRIBLE looking game ever. Horrible text all over the screen, popping of circles and stripes all over the action scenes, it really looks VOMIT INDUCING. It will make me sick after 5 minutes, and I wont even play it for FREE.
If you played Metaphor. Who was your favorite character?
Its too hard to pick tbh so many are great. Possibly Louis man he's just spectacular
Heismay. Next question.

Fidelio. Did everything he could to protect people he loved, and even people he didnt
