JAMES. Leave your clubs the way they are. I believe that once you fix your pull that is the time to look at other clubs. CONFIDENCE WILL HELP BUILD CONSISTENCY. ALSO I would love a shot at winning the zcamo Cobra driver. Thanks
I have a P790 UDI demo club right now and I can’t believe how straight I have been hitting it. Even poor contact shots are going straight and over 200 yards. The best ones are 225+, almost as long as my M6 3 wood. I think it is a keeper.
I hit both the 3 iron Mizuno HMB and the Taylor Made UDI. Even though the UDI is chunkier and has more offset, it went 12.5 yards further, on average than the HMB. It is a tick longer, and I was using the sock UDI shaft, but I have to say it is easy to hit and I loved the trajectory and distance. That was on a GC2 at a Golf Galaxy. I have to see how it plays from the rough before I replace my M3 19 degree hybrid.
“Confidence inspiring look.” Is one of the most over used descriptions i hear. This is such a personal thing. As a mid-handicapper I’m constantly pushed away from smaller, blade style clubs and long irons. However, I feel more confident over the ball with that style of club than what I’m supposed to be using. For this reason I’d take the P790 UDI. A club fitting comparing them might change my mind though!!!
For my swing speed, I wouldn’t consider them but I love this video that you where like a kid at Christmas just enjoying smashing shots. That’s why we golf. Nice one mate
I bought the 2-DHY off the back of this video (fitted of course) and am loving it! TaylorMade SIM DHY +2˚ lie Midsize +1 Mitsubishi Diamana HY 75 Flex S +1/4” @ 17˚
Hi James- i would opt for none of the above. I tested TM v. Srixon U85. The U85 driving 3 iron (20 degrees) is a beast off of the deck... all in, I can squeeze 260+ yards with super low spin and tight dispersion. I am actually considering swapping out my 3 wood with the 17-degree 2 iron U85. Love driving irons. Absolute smoke show versus struggling with flight and trajectory control with the woods. Excellent segment, James!! Love the channel!
It’s definitely horses for courses, I’m personally not the biggest fan of the Hybrid look. I think you need to use was works for you and gives you the most confidence over the ball.
i put the p790 udi in my bag and ended up selling my driver. the stats on my shotscope app said i was only 8 yards on avarage shorter than my driver but the main stat was i went for 33% of fairways hit with my driver to 59% with the 2 iron and thats me a player off of 15 handicap.
Would love to know ball position for the udi p790 . I can hit it 210 carry sometimes if I really try it doesn’t go as far.170 carry , just after a bit of info. My score is in the mid to late 80’s if I leave my driver in the bag , so annoying.
Great review. Really spelled out the differences for us! Interesting changes TaylorMade made with these clubs... they are much better looking than the GAPR line. It’s not even close. For me, though, none of these won’t really work. The UDI has more offset than I want. The DHY doesn’t come in a 2i in lefty. Looks like I’ll be staying in my Titleist T-MB for now. 😀
I’ve just purchased the Taylormade sim dhy and absolutely love it off the tee and off the fairway. It’s a perfect combination. You should definitely put it in your bag
I just added a 3 wood to the bag for when I have to pole it 250-260. So not sure these would be helpful for me, if I’m only using it once a round to layup somewhere, already got clubs that do that.
looking into getting a UDI, thinking the P790, I noticed you has steel shafts in yours, but they are mostly sold with a graphite shaft. What advantages do you see in the steel shaft, I currently play Project X 6.5's. Love the videos, thanks!
Fantastic timing I use mp32 to 4 iron And a Nike pro combo os 2 iron for when my driver goes right or if I want to keep it under the wind Been thinking about giving the udi a punt for a week or two may have to look a bit more seriously
JAMES, I watch all your videos and you do a tremendous job. I would like to ask a favor on your club reviews. Can you add a couple comments on who the clubs you are testing are best suited. As an example, I am a 6 hanicap 60 year old with a slower swing speed. I love the p790 but with a slower swing speed, they don't work for me or would the new TM udi or dhy be ok for me with slower speed? I have slightly off center hits so many of the new TM clubs I can't use, but being a 6 handicap I would assume from the videos I can hit them. In fact you probably have to be a 3 with fast swing speed.
I’ve got a GAPR low and I don’t always get along with it how ever it stays in the bag because I do trust it to get me out of trouble for the most part. Would u think DHY would be considerably easier to hit than GAPR low?
I demoed all the GapRs very extensively last year and I can categorically say that the GapR Mid is way, way, way easier to hit and shape consistently than the GapR low - it's not even close - and the GapR Mid only flies slightly higher than the low so I viewed it as a no brainer if you are choosing between those two. Ultimately, after viewing a TXG video about the GapR High, I went back and gave that another try - and for the conditions I play, the slight increase in peak height of the High, over the mid, made my decision for me. I went with a custom heavier shaft after using it stock for a year (went SteelFiber i110 X-Flex at 39") in the GapR #4, playing open and delofted at 21 degrees, and I absolutely love it for my 205-210 carry club that I can shape both ways. Given how happy I was with my GapR Mid 205-210 setup, I look a lot and demoed the GapR High #3, but after lots of testing I decided that the slightly more forgiving Mizuno 2020 CLK #2 at 16 degrees with their Tensei White 94 gram TX Flex was a better fit for the 225 carry club I was looking for - it is exceptionally good lower in the face for hitting off a tight lie - and the flatter lie angle makes it so that I can open it 1 click and easily set it up as my fade club if I want - as it is, it is very neutral with the Tensei White TX shaft - and off a low tee, I find it very easy to hit a piecing 230 carry shot into the wind with the 16 degree loft - I play it at 39.75" length
I have a macgregor driving iron...I love it...always seem to hit the ball better with it than a driver..as for sum reason I can't hit a driver very gud yet cus only been playing a couple of months...but always feel confident with my driving iron 👍👍
Personally I wouldn't get the sim stuff as its only going to stay as current as the sim line up and will no doubt be changed when they bring the next driver out so personally would be looking at staying with he 790 unless there is a massive gaming benefit
I have a P790 UDI in my bag and i can not image replacing it with either SIM. Love the it feels and how well it strikes the ball. Good choice on keeping your P790 UDI.
Hi James, massive longshot, my friend has just started getting into golf, I don’t suppose you have any cheap budget clubs or anything laying around that you don’t want? 🏌🏻⛳️
I don't play a driving iron. I play a dialled down TS2 Hybrid. I bomb that 220m (240 yards) and i can control it's flight down low if I need to and can use it off the fairway on par 5's. I don't have the confidence to hit a driving iron from the deck.
Loving my Titleist T-MB 2 iron. When I hit it. 60% of the time it works every time.
JAMES. Leave your clubs the way they are. I believe that once you fix your pull that is the time to look at other clubs. CONFIDENCE WILL HELP BUILD CONSISTENCY. ALSO I would love a shot at winning the zcamo Cobra driver. Thanks
That doesn’t make sense.

Hadn't considered a driving iron until I saw your vlog. Thanks for your review. I would love that Cobra driver in my bag.

Sick setup.
Dhy Video with a mid handicapper would be amazing, since this will be the target group 😌

I have the p790 udi in the bag this year and it's transformed my game. I rarely touch driver or 3 wood. The 2 Iron fits well in all situations.
Would love to have the P790 UDU to match my P790 irons, but would probably be a better fit for the DHY to replace my M4 hybrid
I think I’d really like the DHY, the UDI even more but idk if i can hit that one consistent. Loved the comparison, thanks!

Any chance of a video on tips to hit a 2 iron such as these better James? Great channel more with the main man Tubes please bud!
James leave my cobra cover on you will wear the paint off it 😂 🤞🏻just booked my fitting for a P760 udi 👍
Would love to know ball position for the udi p790 . I can hit it 210 carry sometimes if I really try it doesn’t go as far.170 carry , just after a bit of info. My score is in the mid to late 80’s if I leave my driver in the bag , so annoying.
Beautiful club! I don't wanna use it, I wanna take it for dinner and a movie!
Why change if the UDI is doing its job?
Great review. Really spelled out the differences for us!

Just out of curiosity... what’s your handicap? Also what’s your longest iron/shortest wood? And did you go 2 or 3?
I play P790’s but got a Mizuno MP20 2 iron and love it. Super easy to hit and can hit stingers with accuracy
I just added a 3 wood to the bag for when I have to pole it 250-260. So not sure these would be helpful for me, if I’m only using it once a round to layup somewhere, already got clubs that do that.
I'm seriously looking at getting fit in the dhy for the 2 and 4 iron to drop my 2 hybrids.
It's way better than the hybrids imo..

Continued....when reviewing clubs if you could add a couple metrics of who they are best suited and who should NOT use them. That would be helpful
Not one went left?
🙌🏼
Ordered the 4 DHY 1.5 degrees weak & 1.25 inches shorter. basically a P790 5 iron replacement. Would have ordered the 5 DHY but not offered in LH.
That will be an absolute weapon
James it's Bank holiday Monday. Take a day off and have a round of golf for fun.
Food for thought must go for a fitting and try
My father-in- law has "borrowed" my old (2006) MP Fli-Hi 21 degree for about 10 years. You KNOW I sent him this video!!!
Hi James, i’ve been golfing for years, but my friends are only getting into it, can you recommend some of the best budget ideas ?
The Callaway complete golf sets really are pretty good for the money
Have a look on the callaway preowned website some good deals on there
Watch SAS golf. He’s big into used clubs and does a great job providing ideas for budget clubs of excellent quality.
Hi James, I don’t use a driver would the dhy be good for me off the tee. I’m currently hitting around the 100 mark on rounds. Cheers
I’ve got a GAPR low and I don’t always get along with it how ever it stays in the bag because I do trust it to get me out of trouble for the most part. Would u think DHY would be considerably easier to hit than GAPR low?

Out of curiosity, did you have the same shaft in both or was the lighter weight stock shaft in DHY?
Would teeing these up make a difference in your indoor test?
P790 all day long. Tempted to get one. Keep below the wind and a good fairway finder
What gpu are you running in your pc
I have a macgregor driving iron...I love it...always seem to hit the ball better with it than a driver..as for sum reason I can't hit a driver very gud yet cus only been playing a couple of months...but always feel confident with my driving iron 👍👍
P790 UDI every time James.
James why is my new camo cobra driver still in your bag?!! lol thanks for all the content!
Personally I wouldn't get the sim stuff as its only going to stay as current as the sim line up and will no doubt be changed when they bring the next driver out so personally would be looking at staying with he 790 unless there is a massive gaming benefit
James, how about a video where you play clubs that the numbers say are best for you versus your feel or likes. I think it could be entertaining!
I love the look of the Cobra. Would go for the most forgiving iron. Thanks for the vid James.
As a Callaway golfing guy , I don't know if I could put a TM club in my bag, Well not without taking Gravol first ;) hehehe
James if you change out the P790 UDI I’ll gladly take it off your hands 😉
Looked for a driving iron for some time, ended up buying a Mizuno MP-20 HMB 2 iron
Wish there were more options for a 1 iron to be honest
Idk to go for one of these or the sim hybrid.
Best long iron hybird stroke 5 wood replacement around
I'd love to try the p-7mc... Otherwise 790
I have a P790 UDI in my bag and i can not image replacing it with either SIM. Love the it feels and how well it strikes the ball. Good choice on keeping your P790 UDI.
James, you should replace your 3 wood with the DHY.
Will take a lot to get my P790 uni out of my bag.
Just ordered the Sim UDI 2 iron goes like a bullet
Great review do you think perhaps you could add one of these alongside a hybrid or instead of??
p790 certainly looks the best to my eye.
Based on those numbers, don't change James unless you desire more forgiveness with the DHY.
Hi James love the channel, I was wondering if you could do a review of irons from the new company Sub 70 golf?
Henry Herman check out txg....they reviewed those clubs
Robert Turnbull thanks
Hi James, massive longshot, my friend has just started getting into golf, I don’t suppose you have any cheap budget clubs or anything laying around that you don’t want? 🏌🏻⛳️
Never tested any of them clubs so I just don't know which one I'd have in the bag
When’s my driver coming James ?
Still playing my GAPR, could care less about the looks, plays-feels excellent!
I don't play a driving iron. I play a dialled down TS2 Hybrid. I bomb that 220m (240 yards) and i can control it's flight down low if I need to and can use it off the fairway on par 5's. I don't have the confidence to hit a driving iron from the deck.
Sooo close to looking really good. Shame the black plastic makes them look cheap compared to the p790.
Would not use any. As senior will stick with Mizuno hi fli and 3 hybrid. James you seem to be losing fore left! Keep working it
Can’t wait to get fitted for one of these!!
And that people is how to do an honest club review 👏👏
I would hit the DHY and take my 5wood out of the bag. I am a mid handicap and I like the forgiveness in the club.
790 looks the nicest James just abit to pricey for me to own 🏌️♂️⛳👍💵💵💵
I would like to try the DHY
I’m using a mid 3 gapr
Nether, Ping G 410 fitted to my specifications
New SIM all the way💪💪💪👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂
I love my 4iron 220 cary off the tee
Have p790 in the bag for sure
Sort of irons I'd love to own just way out my price range I'm afraid 😞
I need a new Cobra driver
having never had a UDI in the bag... would be hard for me to say...
I must confess my head got blagged with udi dhy in the sky, I don't know why. I would rather have a 3 iron and 5 wood, old school 👍
I have a 3 iron in my bag. It's good on the tees and in the fairways on long par 3....but the UDI on the par 4, wow. Just wow.
Just ordered the DHY 👌🏻
Sim Dhy, looks awesome
take them on the course
P790... love mine
I had a UTI years ago had to see a doctor, didn't injoy it at all.
I'm confused tooooo many letters and numbers...... 🤔
Sim DHY would be my choice.
Change, and sell me your old P790 iron, fair price of course .🤔
I thought your most favorite club was your sand wedge... my bad
60 degree not sand wedge
I don’t want offset on it, blocks it right 😂
😂👏🏼
Remind me of calla way apex
Titleist U510 for me
Already have the P790 UDI and love it to bits so that one
I’d go sim. Put me in the drawing for the driver.
With an attitude like that, I wouldn't expect you to win
Sim DHY for me
Love to have dhy
Not my cup of tea........ so I will just wait for my Cobra Camo Driver.
DHY baby
DHY
