6:23 is my all time favorite Floyd transition, from trippy blues to sly jazz. Pure genius.
One of my favorite
Pink Floyd got my Dad through some very dark times. He and my mother were married and divorced twice. She was very mentally ill, not her fault, but we all suffered because of it. Thank you for sharing this great tune. So many more.
I always felt that when it comes to songs that Pink Floyd does like this they're more like pieces of music like Mozart or Beethoven instead of just a song or songs!!
Following that thought I also think that Pink Floyd will be one of the few groups that survives the ages because of their unbelievably unique and fantastic music will be getting played a thousand years from now along with those other two little-known artists that of course I'm saying with tongue in cheek......... wonderful review!!
Last thought or statement those high-pitch notes you really liked was David Gilmour ripping them out of a pedal steel guitar!!!
The instrument you couldn't identify is a "lap steel guitar". Watch a live version of "High Hopes" to see David Gilmour play a fantastic solo on that instrument. My favorite version is Live in Gdansk, which can be found on Gilmour's official YT channel.
Watch this version with tissues, especially the Live in Gdansk version. That solo at the end is just top tier Gilmour, and I can't hear it without ugly crying.
Pink Floyd is their own genre of music, nothing like them before or since. Master of sonic sounds, space, and time.
All Pink Floyds music is🔥💪💯 awesome reaction 👍
Truth! 🎯👍🏼💯
One of my favorite Pink Floyd songs, and I love the little reference to their much earlier song 'See Emily Play' at the very end.
How can someone create this music in that young age they where ? ... It is Music- Art at it best EVER !!! Hstory forever
Another Floyd Masterpiece!
I love pink Floyd, some tracks take a little getting used to but such talented musicians.
Syd Barrett.... The "Crazy Diamond". The name Pink Floyd was created on the spur of a moment by Syd Barrett, when another band, also called the Tea Set, was to perform at one of their gigs. The name came from two blues musicians in Barrett's record collection; Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.
You will want to add the Live at Pulse version.... They opened the show with this song. Just what you'd expect..... AWESOME
Pulse does not have the 6-9 part
@@Kessen1973 I know, but still awesome. Seen them 4 times. 94 Pulse was Best Live show I've ever seen.
@@AliasMark69 👍🏼💯🙌🏼
great stuff. this song was about a member of the band that had mental and drug problems and went off the deep end he showed up when they were recording it, he wasnt recongnized righ away by the band.
Here's a couple of varied songs to check out...All different, all amazing "Dream On" (Aerosmith), "This is it" (Kenny Loggins), "True" (Spandau Ballet). A taste of the early 70s, late 70s and early 80s. Great reactions as usual.
"Shine On You Crazy Diamond"
Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Pile on many more layers and I'll be joining you there.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph,
Sail on the steel breeze.
Come on you boy child, you winner and loser,
Come on you miner for truth and delusion, and shine
Their album "Animals" is amazinggggg, please listen to this masterpiece. You need to listen to this in the order of the tracks to fully understand the concept of the album
Not so much with “Animals” as their other albums. But it’s my favorite 👍🏼
Crazy thing about this song. Its about their founding member, Sid Barrett, who went crazy and had to leave the band. He's the "Crazy Diamond". They havent seen him in several years, and when they were in the studio recording this very song, he showed up. It was a real, uncomfortable situation for all of them.
Syd. The rest of the band didn’t even know who he was for about 45 minutes. Roger cried when David realized it was Syd and told him.
This song is in my top 5 of Pink Floyd’s catalog. Could listen to the whole thing (all 9 parts) on repeat for hours 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You and me both ❤
DAVID GILMOUR IS THE TIMELORD OF THE LEAD GUITAR 🎸 PINK FLOYD WILL TAKE YOU TO ANOTHER WORLD 🌎 AND ACROSS THE MILKY WAY 🎸 a fan for ever.
When I listened to the song and looked at the picture of the burning man, I cried so many times in the past. My absolute favorite song.
The Best Of The Beatles- John Lennon- Bob Dylan- Pink Floyd/Live in your Playlist.... You did that JM.... and many others done and to come. TOO COOL, again.
The Fender Rhodes Electric Piano that comes in at 6 mins,45 sec.... I assembled it and many others from legendary groups/songs.
Richard Wright - Hammond organ, ARP String Ensemble, Minimoog, quadruple-tracked EMS VCS 3, clavinet and Fender Rhodes electric piano on Part VIII, Steinway piano on Parts III and IX, glass harp, backing vocals
If you slide into the Pink Floyd rabbit hole you will emerge in about 2 years....
Roger was doing this in his This is Not A Drill tour. I caught the show in DC., beautiful.
Part VI-IX is so underused, because you're always used to listen to Part I-V. But that's just a mistake, you should probably listen to I-IX for about 26 minutes... ;-)
Yes!
You know how to listen to Floyd.
Good Stuff !
Next song you should check out is “Young Lust” from The Wall album! Really great song that doesn’t get heard often! I believe you really enjoy it!!
I agree with you, this one is a ch better, imo. 🤘🏽💜
Have you heard Meddle by them bro? Put on San Tropez on a hot, happy day, by the beacb preferably
The solo begins : you're on earth not knowing what journey is about to start
the solo ends : you're 25 640 light years away facing the raw energy of our galaxy, orbiting our black hole sagittarius a*
"A resume of Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part VI-IX"
Time by Pink Floyd
I have seen your Pink Floyd reactions, but the best songs are missing. I talk about Dogs and Sheep form their best album Animals.
Pink Floyd can lay down the Funk, yet you always know it’s Pink Floyd
Hope you can do 1 through 5
He did…see his playlist for Pink Floyd 👍🏼
Pink says yes...just sayin':)
