Great reaction Stan,.... 🎸🎷
Pink Floyd is Legendary, they're on another level completely! That's David Gilmour on guitar and lead vocals, one of the GOAT Rock guitarists, but he doesn't get a lot of attention from causal listeners. Rock Music Critics know him though!
This song is a tribute to Syd Barrett, one of the 4 co-founders of Pink Floyd in 1964. Unfortunately, he was forced out of the band by the beginning of 1968 because of mental health issues, exacerbated by his massive use of LSD and other mind-altering drugs.
His good friend and friend of the band, David Gilmour took over for Syd full time in 1968, and he's still there today, but PF has been inactive since 2022.
Really their whole 1975 "Wish You Were Here" album that "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", is on is about Syd Barrett. In fact, if you look at the acronym for the song, SOYCD, the first, third and fifth letters spell SYD.
This version is just parts 1 - 5, there's 4 more parts, 6 - 9,..... love to see you do parts 6-9.
Also check out some of Pink Floyds' incredible 1994 Pulse Concert at Earls Court in London, there are re-edited and re-mastered videos all over RUclips of the concert. Even 30 years after their founding in 1964, they still put on an astounding Show!
Thank you and thank you for your amazing comments
The solo voice is by Roger Waters, well joined in the choirs by both David and Rick.
Try the Gates of Delirium by Yes,only a small amount of folks have reacted but it's a over looked Classic.@@Lifewithstan2020
My Beloved Floyd. I saw them 5 times and consider myself one of the luckiest people to ever live. Out of the whole of human history, I was born in the time of Pink Floyd and got to see them live.
I'm French and listenting Pink Floyd for the first time in 1974, I have 12. This time, i'm 61 and i love always. Yes ! Pink Floyd is a expérience. 🎷🎸
Yes it is and thank you
I'm 15 and I adore this group, I will tell and tell my children and grandchildren about it so that they know what real music is
When I was younger, and Pink Floyd was playing , I would close my eyes and let the music take me away 💕
i am 66 and i still do.
As a teen, I’d lay in my bed at night, with only the light from my stereo, listening to this album(and other Pink Floyd albums).
It is truly an experience.
Its always cool, as a diehard Floyd fan, seeing people just beginning the journey that is Pink Floyd, their music is an absolute rabbit hole but one that is 100% worth exploring 👌
Just a brilliant performance from Pink Floyd. Thanks for reacting to this timeless classic.
No problem!
Pink Floyd rockin' the blues in tribute to deceased founding member Syd Barrett. Thanks for your reaction.
12:42 Ahh, that grimace signifying “How good is this damn music!” Enjoy your journey with Pink Floyd, as I have. Thank you for your truly honest reactions. 🎸🎷
Thank you
Pink Floyd are in a league of their own! It was awesome watching you "EXPERIENCE" this masterpiece. They will take you to a special place with every song. Love ya brother!
Heard 1000 times this tune! And I was being still here! Nothing tops this tune, but lot of Floyd music is on this level! And btw, you didn't say a lot, you just spoke your truth.RESPECT!
David Gilmour can play ANYTHING and I feel it on another level in my soul. Great reaction! Edit: don’t wait TOO long to listen to the second hall, SOYCD parts xi-ix. It’s a wild ride! 🎷🎸 I love that you don’t pause! Your thoughts are always interesting. Just so you know, none of us ever heard anything like Pink Floyd…until we did, and fell in love. 1973 for me🤘
A tribute to the bands original singer, songwriter lead guitarist and friend Syd Barrett who tragically developed severe schizophrenia just after the band began to get big. He had a huge effect on the band and its music ad it is he who is the 'Crazy Diamond' in the song.
5 of life’s greatest 6 experiences.
1) 1971 Echoes live at Pompeii
( with NO audience )
2) Time & The Great Gig in The Sky - together as one song in 2 movements.
( original vinyl or CD only, NO remixed, re engineered or otherwise vandalised editions ).
3) Dark Side of The Moon
4) Shine On You Cwazy Diamond / Wish You Were Hear
5) 1994 Pulse concerts
6) Birth of a man’s first daughter.
Haha, in order of importance of course?
@@josepyGDB No 6 is personal, the first 5 are for the universe and all life forms. lol
Stan this is Parts 1 thru 5 the first track on the Wish you were Here Album. Parts 6 thru 9 of this song is the last track of the album. Please listen to Parts 6 thru 9 to. The throbbing sound at the end of Parts 1 thru 5 is the start of the next track Welcome to the machine. Which will blow your socks off. Better still listen to the whole album. 🎷🎸
My fave Floyd. Us true Floyd fans wish this song was another 10 min. longer!!
🎷 🎸 ❤
This song is a different planet.
Which technically makes it a different dimension and everyone listening to this goes there as one. Consciousness is boundless! Let's goooo!
This song, like most Pink Floyd song, is like a movie score. The music (and few lyrics) guides you through your own life's experiences and the movie occurs in your head. So close your eyes and listen, it's your movie! 🎸🎷
I was watching ya, 48 yrs later that is how I still feel. Glad you liked it. LOL
Yes, that's the always phenomenal David Gilmour on guitar and lead vocals. Love this song!
Love your reaction. No pausing, no talking, just engulfing yourself in the music. Makes me feel like we're two buddies in room experiencing it together. Excellent 👍🏻. Subscribed ⭐

My emojis are lacking, but this is a great reaction.

🎸🎷 love this song. The saxes at the end hit hard!!

Never it's too late to Shine On You Crazy Diamond.
Been a fan for over 50yrs seen them live twice , and this is my fav LP without doubt , i 1st heard this by candle light in my bedroom and it gave me shivers and still does , my Fav track however of Floyd is Echoes for more personal reasons
"Echoes" , specifically the Live at Pompeii version, is an amazing track by Pink Floyd that is very much worth reacting to, the full studio version is also amazing👍
I will follow you to the end.🎸🎷🎻🎷. Pink Floyd is 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much that really means a lot to me
🎸🎷 A magical experience!
Thank you
Had to subscribe. Love your reaction and as a long time PF fan, drives me nuts when a reactor stops a song and talks ever other minute! Thanks for just letting the music take us away yet again, lol.
🎸🎸🎸🎷🎷🎷
Been listening to this ‘head’ music since the early 70’s-- it definitely will take you away.
Yes it will and thank you watching
An ascension into unworldly dimensions. Add a few hundred guitar and sax emojis for me. Then double that for the other half of this suite.
What a wonderfull Song
I've been a sore hard fan for 50 years

Thank you and I will
Loved your reaction to one of my favs🎸🎷
🎸 🎷This music changes the way I think about the world.
Thank you
You should react to David Gilmore Echoes live at Gdańsk. It’s the last time the guitar player from Pink Floyd and keyboard player from Pink Floyd played together before Richard Wright passed away. It’s a Pink Floyd masterpiece. It’s 25 minutes of pure ecstasy.
Gotta do the second half now
PINK FLOYD and YES = A transcendal experience!
Pink Floyd are life changing 🎸🎷
Thank you
You've done parts I-V, now do VI - IX. It'll take it to a whole new level!
I love watching your expressive face while you’re listening to this gorgeous music. Shine On! 🎸🎷
🎸🎷 love your reaction to this classic piece of music by my favorite group.
Thank you so much
Fantastic reaction, enjoy your Pink Floyd journey, I’ll be here with you. Life changing music is so true
🤗 I could watch you react to PF & Rush all day! 😊🥰🐰
🎸 🎷 good stuff
🎷🎷🎸🎸🥁🥁🎹 love your reactions !!
Thank you
Hey Stan, just thought you should know this is only the first part of the song 🎧 it’s labeled parts 1-5 on the album parts 6-9 aka part two can’t be missed 🤔 it would be a shame
🎷🎸❤️
Thank you 😊
Also 🎹 !!
🎸🎷
Thank you
Rip Syd
Great job brother
Thanks 👍
❤
🎸 🎷
Thank you

Great reaction! I'd love to see your reaction to some Tool, another amazing, dynamic band. Start with 46&2 or Pnuema (drum cam), and you'll be on a new journey. Put on a seatbelt.
Guitar Saxophone 😊 To experience something great, try checking out the 'Pulse Live' 1994 remastered video. I was there 😊
Emoji? Where do you find those? A guitar and a saxophone. I can barely create sideways faces. "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" is an experience, I'll tell you. It's great, but I have to decide to listen to it. I have to be in the right place for it.
🙋🏿♀️ "What are Albums I did Homework to in JHS !" 😁🥰🐰
Now do the second half!
So good. I heard Gilmour looked up to BB King. Do you hear the blues in this?
Welcome my son…
.... Welcome to the Machine !
@@jean-paulpogorzelski558 Where have you been?
🎷🎸
Pink Floyd are not from the Planet Earth. I'm convinced they're aliens from another galaxy who crashed landed here many years ago. They found it interesting and decided to grace us with their extra sensory sounds. We don't deserve them, but I'm glad I was around to witness their greatness.
Please watch ,sorry,live marvellous
Welcome aboard my friend.
Some performances can and should be stopped in the middle for comment - the top acapella groups usually have so many details going on which require comment, especially since they are doing all by voice and body percussion. But such a meditative piece as this requires a full quiet listen. Thanks for just listening and then commenting later.
🎸🎷🥰🐰
🎸🎷 Fans of this song I highly recommend listening to the cover version by Christy Moore available on YT just a guitar and amazing heartfelt vocals.
Thank you watching
Now try SOYCD parts 6-9, the second half of the same song. It’s dirtier and grittier than this and just as much a classic IMO.
If you like Pink Floyd, you’ll like Tool. Just think of that “thing” reincarnated.
There's a second part to this... SOYCD 6-9.
I got lost in the music.
