    I have highly modified my Scrambler XP1000 S for insane hill climbing and it's 58" wide ,
    70" wheelbase , related battery to the bottom frame and 3/16 steel skid plate to lower CG and I out do most SXS.

    Thanks for the comparision video, you made some great points. I ran into a guy yesterday on the trails with the sportsman S and he loved it. Ive seen a handful of both machines here in the northeast. I personally like the scrambler more. I also have the scrambler 850 🙂 and would love to try the S model. I saw the 2024 scrambler S yesterday in person and the new color is wicked.

    I went with the Sportsman 1000s. It just looks better imo. I got a good deal @14k otd. I like the running lights, bumpers, LED lights, winch and hitch. I do all kinds of riding. So far there has been nothing that has come close to stopping the machine. I love it!! Nice vid! Definitely covers the important differences.

    Going to be getting the Sportsman come soon, needed a good rig for doing utility work around the property while also having a bit of fun out on the trails and just in general. Had an older 2005 800 when they first came out and that thing lasted well beyond any reason it needed to, only had to get rid of it when the chassis finally split and she was cruising well past 12 years by then. No shame to her and looking forward to see how things have changed since then.

    can you put the walker shocks on the sportsman? does the sportsman handle jumps well?

    • @OdysseyOffroad
      @OdysseyOffroad  7 месяцев назад

      Yes you can it's the same exact chassis they bolt right up. In Europe the scrambler comes with those standard shocks also and people jump them and ride them aggressively there. Obviously they're not going to be as good as the walkers but they're better than a standard pogo shock on a traditional quad as they are dual rate springs.

    I got super lucky two months ago I bought a sportsman 1000 s with 36 mi on it, demo. 4 $13,000. It seriously like new no difference. Just tonight I installed a RJMC exhaust along with a tune and modified the air box to create more power. I think obviously the better value is buying the sportsman over the scrambler. This scrambler should have been $500-750 less than a sportsman. Scrambler misses the LED lights winch cargo room etc.. But I do really like the seat on scrambler does anybody know if the scrambler seat is a direct replacement for the sportsman?

      Last time I checked 55 in is only 5 inches wider than the average ATV. I think you should probably try one and it would without a doubt change your mind. Don't knock it until you try it

    • @simonsays5979
      @simonsays5979 7 месяцев назад

      @OdysseyOffroad I'm not knocking it at all. Personally, I like a wider stance. However, designated four wheeler trails and laws, at least in my state, is 50 inches and under. Most "designated" trails have posts that are 50 inches apart at the trailhead so if the machine is wider, you can't access the trail. Therfore, you can only take it wherever you can take a full size vehicle

    • @OdysseyOffroad
      @OdysseyOffroad  7 месяцев назад

      @@simonsays5979 well if you live in a state that has trail restrictions then obviously this isn't the machine for you but you misrepresenting the facts when you say it only fits on trails designated for trucks.

    • @simonsays5979
      @simonsays5979 7 месяцев назад

      @OdysseyOffroad I'm not misrepresenting anything. That law exists across the United States. Not every trail in every state has that restriction but every state has that restriction at some point or another. If you want to be restricted to where you can ride, buy a wide machine. If you want to be able to ride it all on a four wheeler, buy one that is 50 or under

    • @OdysseyOffroad
      @OdysseyOffroad  7 месяцев назад

      @@simonsays5979 a majority of trail systems are well over 50 in because they cater mostly to side by sides these days. There's a minority of the trail systems and I've yet to come across one that is restricted to 50 in.
