Is there any difference between the suspension on the scrambler and sportsman 1000 s. I would mainly be using it for slower type trail riding with sxs’s. Thinking the sportsman 1000 s might be more plush plus the added engine braking. Waiting on a good review between the two so I can decide 😂.
Yes, the scrambler has more travel. The sportsman s is limited by the fenders on up travel. Otherwise almost identical mechanically. Just different body work. Also they both "have engine braking" its just the sportsman has more aggressive engine braking. Too aggressive in my opinion. And also prone to failure if you like to jump. That said, I chose the sportsman and am very happy with it. I like the bigger fenders for mud, and the storage.
Mendomotox thanks. What type of trails are you riding. I would mostly be in the eastern tn and hmt. Also the local trails here in NC. Thinking I might could get more use on the farm also with the sportsman.
@@farmerjoe8809 sounds like @Mendomotox is pretty much steering you in the right direction. The Scrambler does not have engine braking at all actually. Sportsman has both engine braking and Polaris active descent control which is basically like engine braking on steroids if you engage it. The Sportsman's suspension is definitely softer than the Scramblers.
At Polaris 2014 press intro while we were looking at a pair of Scrambler 850s and realizing they were about to roll out a second model we just assumed it was going to be a more economical scrambler 570 based on the 850. Polaris obviously went for bigger is better with the 1000. We would still like to see a more affordable yet very capable 570 version.
OMF can build literally anything for you! If you tell them you want the set up ATVonDemand used on the Scrambler they'll hook you up.. I recently moved to a farm house and am looking for some toys to ride around on trails and around the farm what would be the sickest utv, atv, dirtbikes to look into im used to yz250s and banshees
Great videos Dirt Obsexxion squad! I'd be curious how these machines would match up again with an upgraded set of shocks under the sportsman. Probably still not quite at the level of the long travel, but I'll bet it gets it close enough to mitigate the strengths compared to the weaknesses that come with the S platform. Good stuff.
Great video . Circling around a couple times for turning radius is a true test of acreage and front end push, 👍 good idea guys . Lots of action shots and true views of performance . I see what you mean about the raised foot pegs , something with that much kick maybe needs stirups 🏇🤠. Great work on the comparison and thanks . Have fun , stay healthy .
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, some pegs would be nice. With this much capability will take all the control we can get. Plenty more to show. Hope you'll stay tuned.
Glad you enjoyed it. Based on our findings at the original press intro in Nevada, we'd agree it is a ton of fun in high speed, wide-open trails. The more whooped out the better.
@@ATVonDemand yes, I agree on that. However, you trade 48” 10 - 12” of travel that you can ride all parks with 48 width. Then go to 55” for the 14” of travel and are limited to the truck trails. There is always a given and take. You just have to figure what best fits you..
Plus, there are a couple more sport quad related videos coming. We promise, if one of these manufacturers would wake up and release any new sport quad we would make a ton of content with it. Suzuki needs a win!

Great job on your video. The "S" model scrambler is not for me. They should have made an "XC" version, much like the Renegades. As a Scrambler owner though, the Polaris product simply does not compare to Can-Am's offering. They power/torque just isn't there, and there are so many NECESSARY upgrades required on the Scramber before ever taking it out in the woods. This S model is just to get people into the showroom to see something "different". I can't imagine wheeling a 55" machine on any of the trails I ride.
We would like to see a 48" wide version of the scrambler similar to the Renagede X XC but just because this machine isn't what you're looking for doesn't mean it isn't the dream for others. In wide-open, west coast desert terrain, we're pretty sure this would smoke any other 4x4 on the market easily. Pure acceleration is only all that matters if the off-road world were flat.
I can respect another mans tastes , but that S is incredibly ugly lol. I have that exact 19 premium xp 1000. It sits right now as we got a can am maverick trail 1000 DPS and been adding goodies to it. ( xp 1000) The front suspension is insanely comfortable, but the rear end is stiff as crap . This is kind of making me want to go ride the couch rocket lol.
I’m positive . I’m a small guy only around 150-160lbs. Are the springs stiffened alway up from the factory on the xp 1000? I’m referring to slow to medium speed trail riding to be clear , not railing it or flying off berms or hills .
Each to their own. But for a 1000cc that weighs ~1000 pounds and is wider than some UTVs, the Sportsman 'S' makes a LOT more sense than the Scrambler. Having something THAT big and heavy, yet have such limited rack capacity as the Scrambler, is just too limiting. One use for the quads is long loop rides that can be over 140 miles of mountainous terrain covered in a day. A Scrambler can't properly carry the extra gas, tools, rain gear, clothing layers, tow or kinetic ropes, drinks/food, electronic devices, etc. That is too much to lose just to go a touch faster.
What's best about your comment is that you know what's best for you and there are 2 options available. In the area where we live the scrambler makes more sense because we don't have vast riding areas nearby. We have ride parks that are a few 100 acres but nothing that would have us going a 140 miles. For us and people in our situation something that is a little faster makes sense. More than the 100 pounds savings on the scrambler, the scrambler's suspension is quite a bit better at this point.. The shocks on the sportsman S have been downgraded.. Plus they weren't as stiffly sprung or vowed to start with so you couldn't push the machine as hard. To each their own and that's why we love options! Sounds like you do some pretty epic rides.
@@ATVonDemand I'm aware that the dampers and spring rates on the Sportsman are inferior to those on the Scrambler. But I'll worry about an aftermarket upgrade later. The areas I visit in the Summer are Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Arizona, Nevada (home base), Oregon, and parts of (mostly eastern) California. Next month, it's Colorado for the first time with an ATV. My prior highest peaks were 11,000', but one we'll be climbing in Colorado is 14,200'. For off road, Utah is my #1 choice for the sheer volume and variety of terrain, as well as an ATV friendly mindset. My 1st long ride there was a 340 mile loop over 5 days, dropping out of the mountains each night into a different town along the 'Piute Trail' loop. The 'Arizona Peace trail' is ~700 miles. So far, I've only done the northern half. You can have a 'sag wagon' follow the group, or camp, or hotel hop at towns along the route. Although I don't own a UTV, it's easier with them because UTVs can be registered to ride paved roads, whereas it's a little dicier with ATVs. I didn't have problems, but it was a concern in a few areas.
Are you saying there are no side by side trails in Michigan? Maybe you shouldn't be giving the thumbs down to these machines you should be giving the thumbs down to the people running your state.
So you're asking people not to buy it so you can be proven right? Is a very fun machine that is incredibly capable. New ATV is perfect and it may not be right for you.

Beer drinkers and Hell Raisers!!! Hahaha! I I could definitely get behind that idea!
@@ATVonDemand affordabiity is great and all.i just want a sub 500 lb 4wd so i can continue riding my mx track in the new england snowy winters lol

Are those beadlocks available? How much? How about a package deal with my choice of tires. Hey nice video.
OMF can build literally anything for you! If you tell them you want the set up ATVonDemand used on the Scrambler they'll hook you up.. I don't know if they do package deals but it's easy to mount tires on beadlocks.. You can't get stronger wheels than OMF.. Best thing to do is give them a call 951-354-8272 or email info@omfperformance.com
@@dirtobsexxionvlogs4892 Hey thanks for the information Chad. I will get in touch with them.
I recently moved to a farm house and am looking for some toys to ride around on trails and around the farm what would be the sickest utv, atv, dirtbikes to look into im used to yz250s and banshees
Outlaw 525 IRS. Tons of low end torque, great suspension for jumps, and good ground clearance for trails.
I bought the Sportsman XP 1000 S
Great videos Dirt Obsexxion squad! I'd be curious how these machines would match up again with an upgraded set of shocks under the sportsman. Probably still not quite at the level of the long travel, but I'll bet it gets it close enough to mitigate the strengths compared to the weaknesses that come with the S platform. Good stuff.
We shall see. We just received new shocks for a sportsman 1000 project they should be coming out early spring.
@@ATVonDemand that should be cool. I'd like to see a comparison like that, and then the obvious XXC comparison also, haha. Merry Christmas!
I have a sportsmen 850 ho addition can it still do most of the things the xp can?
I'd say so.. The 850 is a nice machine and a little more practical budget wise
S- suspension for me !! ;-)
It is pretty incredible.
SCRAMBLER S WITH HIGHLIFTER PACKAGE. COME ON POLARIS I CANT WAIT ANY LONGER LOL.
We expect it
Considering they haven’t even made a regular scrambler with highlighter snd haven’t done the rs1 high lifter it’s not going to happen.
I think the 55” scrambler would be a fun machine for high speed wide-open trails.
Excellent video as usual boys!
Glad you enjoyed it. Based on our findings at the original press intro in Nevada, we'd agree it is a ton of fun in high speed, wide-open trails. The more whooped out the better.
So, put an up traded suspension on the sports man and you have the best of both worlds for less money
Well, I don't think you're going to get 14' of travel out of a Sportsman but point taken.
@@ATVonDemand yes, I agree on that. However, you trade 48” 10 - 12” of travel that you can ride all parks with 48 width. Then go to 55” for the 14” of travel and are limited to the truck trails. There is always a given and take. You just have to figure what best fits you..
Not sure what the point of a hitch receiver is on the scrambler it can't tow anything
COOL!😎👍
ATV on demand rn is all just heavy rocket Boi quads and 4 years ago it was sport quad mania.
Make sure you tune in for part for Monday night. If you're missing sport quad you'll be happy to watch.
@@ATVonDemand ok will do! Thanks. #sportquadsmatter
Plus, there are a couple more sport quad related videos coming. We promise, if one of these manufacturers would wake up and release any new sport quad we would make a ton of content with it. Suzuki needs a win!

Just Daily post
I been trying to tell people it's the best in world..
Fajny film
I can respect another mans tastes , but that S is incredibly ugly lol. I have that exact 19 premium xp 1000. It sits right now as we got a can am maverick trail 1000 DPS and been adding goodies to it.
( xp 1000) The front suspension is insanely comfortable, but the rear end is stiff as crap . This is kind of making me want to go ride the couch rocket lol.
Are you sure you're not bottoming out?
I’m positive . I’m a small guy only around 150-160lbs. Are the springs stiffened alway up from the factory on the xp 1000?
I’m referring to slow to medium speed trail riding to be clear , not railing it or flying off berms or hills .
800+lb machines the modern day ATVS need to go on a strict diet like the snowmobile world has
No problem. A Raptor 700 weighs around 400 lb. Four-wheel Thrive and 27 inch tires add up.

i don't like the sportsman and the scrambler because the sportsman has the tire closer to the floorboards than the front
