I agree with the first point so much. I discovered you around January and decided to try the teisted natural life... I've just taken down my 3 month old twists and turns out I've just overcome my 2 year plateau at bra strap length😭 I'm SOOOO HAPPY!!

Until Nov 2022 I had no issues with length retention. In Nov 2022 my scalp started itching and burning like crazy. My shedding increased tremendously. I knew that something was drastically wrong so I made an appointment with my dermatologist. In Dec 2022 I was diagnosed with CCCA due to a flare in my SLE which attacked the scalp. It took about six months to get it under control. I had not heard about CCCA before my diagnosis so I looked it up. Wrong move... everything I saw freaked me out and had me thinking I was going to be bald. Which was very traumatic since my hair was long and I never had any issues retaining length. Currently, the disorder is under control and I still have a full head of hair.

I big chopped my hair (4B) in 2021 and it is now at 20 inches because I leave it alone. I will start enjoying my hair in another year or so when it reaches tailbone length. The problem with stopping at waist length is that it can easily go back to bra strap length, but tailbone length hair will go to waist length if I wear it out a lot and I can grow it back. See the vanity in me.

I'm asking for a suggestion. My favorite shampoo is from Melanin hair care, but it's not for use every wash day. I've been looking for a good moisturizing shampoo. I wash every 2 weeks and I want to use the Melanin shampoo every 6 weeks, so I need a moisturizing shampoo to use every 2 weeks. Thanks for any suggestions, or just link a video you've done.

Detangling is always my downfall. Your videos have helped me a LOT though. Re-did my mini twists one by oneo ver the weekend after wash day, breakage was quite minimal but could have been better. I realised half way that applying butter on moisturised hair minimises the breakage. For now I dont want to overthink length, will see when I detangle my hair in 3 months.

postpartum can be hard on the body and hair so I wouldn’t stress or change too much about my routine until fully recovered. after which I’d try products with glycerin vs without to see how my hair responds. take care !!
