    This show really makes you feel bad for the kids sometimes. They don't realize their dad cares more about drugs and alcohol than he cares about his kids. Lip and Fiona are old enough to remember the last time he tried to quit drinking. If they let it go on too long, Carl and Debbie would have started to trust Frank, which would just make it so much worse when he betrays them again.

      In my opinion, it’s the fact that the kids are aware of the fact that Frank cares more about drugs and alcohol, than them. As well, them knowing that there’s nothing that they can do to make him feel any differently.

    I'm having mixed feelings about this, on one hand i can completely understand lip and fiona wanting to protect their siblings from the painful disappointment of their dad's reversal back to old bad habits and while i have hilarious respect for them in their loving attempts to do so i just can't help but feel curiosity on what if instead of putting such efforts into sabotaging him they actually take the initiative to really help frank become the father they longed for him to be; not only by actually making sure he used that $3k for the family but by showing him the possibility of great things he could achieve from staying the course, he clearly has the potential, all he needed was the people in his life, his own family to keep him moving forward, they knew how jacked up his own life was with his mother, how his heart was shattered by their mother leaving him, those things alone should have been enough to convince the older siblings Lip and fiona to not be so quick to give up on him, I'm pretty certain if all 11 seasons was dedicated to them doing that with him and him actually putting effort into that with hilarious mishaps resulting along the way, the story of their lives and what each one of them went through, how each one of them was affected and changed for the better by Frank's redemption arc would have been drastically different and possibly the ending for frank would have been a lot better than what he got, It would have still been bittersweet, but it would have been a great send-off to yet another beloved character, seeing that character develop and become the imperfect but still funny as hell, good and decent guy we all wished for and knew he could be. 😁😎😉💯🔥👍🏻

    My dad was like that. Hid in a bottle while his second wife targeted me for abuse... what made him stop drinking? My son being born. I have a brother, he's the definition of a POS, so it's not a gender thing.
    Long story short, he stopped drinking and doing blow so I'd allow him to have a relationship with his grandson. The upside is my son gets to have what me and my husband didn't.

    • @pridetheprince4188

      They probably wanted to study his brain, “the most advanced case of alcholism they have ever seen” after he abstains for the time period. Probably to see what happens, if he’s dieing, how, if they can give him any drugs to make it better, give him anything that will make him not get sick, etc

    Why did they do that?

    • @DVDTAPEAFKs
      @DVDTAPEAFKs Месяц назад +3

      Because even Frank was planning on using all that money he was going to earn on more alcohol and drugs. He planned to stop drinking for 2 weeks just to get money, after that, he can spend it on whatever he wants; take a guess what he was planning on buying with that money. He only spent time with them just to get distracted to do something in the meantime because he had nothing else to do. Since he couldn't drink, he started craving sweets as his alternative until he could drink after 2 weeks. In season 3 episode 12, Frank was in a hospital bed under care after he started coughing blood. Fiona told Frank to change for himself and for the kids because he has a family that still cares about him. In his own words he said, "What if I don't want to change?" with a very selfish tone. He chose alcohol over his kids years ago all the way to his grave.
