  • One of the common problems with the Z is the Clutch Slave Cylinder (CSC) Failure. A preventive maintenance can easily avoid this problem by flushing the old and burnt clutch fluid with a better performing fluid that can withstand higher temperature.

    My clutch suddenly has bite point getting closer and closer to the floor, but the clutch still has full range of return. The clutch fluid is dark. Do you think replacing fluid will fix my issue?

    • @ItsEricVenzon
      @ItsEricVenzon  9 месяцев назад

      You should definitely go change the fluid if it's that dark. If your clutch fails you even replacing the fluid with a DOT4 fluid, that means you really need to replace the CSC assembly or do a delete. It's been almost 3 years since I've done this and 20,000km of driving, the stock CSC hasn't failed (yet).

    so my clutch's biting point was getting lower and lower and then i got my mechanic to change my clutch fluid he replaced it and it was really black, after i got the car back everytime i needed to pump the clutch a couple times before the clutch felt smooth or else it was still feeling very loose and would get stuck at the bottom or midway. if i didnt use the clutch while driving for longer than 30 seconds the clutch would go back to the floor and get stuck. what do you think the issue is? CSC? or Master Cylinder? or do you think the clutch needs to be bled again?

    • @ItsEricVenzon
      @ItsEricVenzon  9 месяцев назад +3

      It sounds like there's still air inside the system so bleeding would help if that's the case. From what I read about bleeding this system, you can't use a power bleeder like the brake systems. If that doesn't fix your issue, you might want to consider a CSC delete soon.

      @@ItsEricVenzon thanks a lot man, how should I bleed the clutch then?

    • @ItsEricVenzon
      @ItsEricVenzon  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@Uchiha just like how i did it in this video. I had to keep doing it until it runs clear and there's no visible bubble when the fluid runs down the hose. Maybe do it 15-20 times. This is the only time I did this fluid change, and checked it every time I did oil changes. It hasn't given me issues after 20,000+ kms

    My 370z clutch went to the floor last week, i think its the csc, does bleeding now going to fix the issue?

    Should the reservoir be open when bleeding?

    • @ItsEricVenzon
      @ItsEricVenzon  3 года назад

      I put the cap on because i don't want foreign dirt getting in the reservoir. You can leave out open for ease of filling

    Hello, how many miles did your car had when you changed your clutch oil?

    • @ItsEricVenzon
      @ItsEricVenzon  3 года назад

      Hey, I changed it around 18600 miles. Assuming it wasnt changed by the previous owner

    How much of the fluid did you use? 1 bottle or more?

    • @ItsEricVenzon
      @ItsEricVenzon  Месяц назад +1

      Less than half a bottle to do the flush.

    I put regular clutch fluid on mine like a month ago because it was black and now it’s black again and it’s below the minimum amount. Would getting the better fluid that you got fix this problem? or would I need a new csc?😭

    • @ItsEricVenzon
      @ItsEricVenzon  10 месяцев назад +3

      I think you need to try the Motul RBF600 DOT 4 more than the regular brake fluid DOT 3 and make sure it's running clear when you do the flush. If it still burns it to that color then I would start getting a CSC delete (which is more feasible so you don't have to keep replacing it).
      Ever since I did this 3 years ago, it never burnt with the RBF 600 and never had an issue with CSC (so far, but a CSC delete is in my pipeline so I don't have to worry about it ever again).
      Good luck!

    I'm having a problem when the clutch needs to be lifted slightly up by using my leg to get a full engagement. I could still switch gears and all but everytime I do that the clutch does come back up all the way. Does it mean I still have air in the system?

    • @ItsEricVenzon
      @ItsEricVenzon  2 года назад

      Hey man, good question! If your clutch feels firm, you're good, but if it feels spongey, then there's a possibility of air being present inside. Rebleed the system, just incase.
