Your 'lovely guide' will take most or all of it to himself, no matter how 'nice' you think he is. You need to get donations to a woman direct, perhaps through a non-profit run by a woman and instruct them where it must be used and film it being handed out. That's how it works.

I met a girl from Afghanistan who was studying in the US. She gave me a marvelous hint to learn another language. She was learning Turkish. She said if you can find a book written in the language you want to learn, and you copy the words, writing every day, then when you hear the words ( she was in class only once a week), the words are already in order and correct in grammar and spelling so they stick with you.
The fact that the children wanted pens and notebooks tells me that even the smallest child knows that words are their future. I pray that all of the Afghans can be free to live and move and have their being in learning in safety, growing in wisdom and compassion and happiness! Much love to them all! Thanks for this video!

But those videos by men seem clueless because their lenses did not show or speak of what life is like for females, etc.

I felt exactly the same as you before I came re the male vloggers. The only thing I would say having been is that there would have been zero chance for them to have had a chat with women as it’s completely banned but I do agree that more comments about the disappearance of women from public view would be good. I can see on the world stage the Taliban even recently accepted a meeting with the UN whilst demanding women are not a topic of conversation. They are not keen on anyone discussing it.

I just watched your video and found myself deeply moved. It’s currently 13:20 on Friday, August 9th, 2024, and I'm taking a break from my work here in Germany, where I’m employed in an IT firm. Do you know any of the history of what life was like for the rural women and children (70% of the population) during the 20 years of American/nato occupation. There is a good article called "The Other Afghan Women" in the New Yorker (about three years ago) by journalist Anand Gopal. He speaks Pashtu and Farsi and he interviewed women in Helmand Providence and in Kandahar. You can find it at the New Yorker, of if you want I can send you a PDF. You will she why the rural people chose the Taliban over the corrupt occupation as the less of two evils. Gopal also wrote an excellent book called "No Good Men Among the Living). You can also look up "afghan zero units" on youtube. There wasn't much talk of women's rights, or the rights of children going to school when the usa was causing the deaths and suffering. Even the (more) fanatic Taliban of the 90s saved the people from a horrible civil war by mujahedeen warlords (both sides funded by usa, isa, and ksa. At the time of the warlord rule thing were even more strict against women, and rape was very prevailing. I could go on, just saying one needs to know the complicated history and look at it with some perspective. Thanks to God, the Taliban has at least brought peace to Afghanistan. It has only been 3 years, following 45 years of wars and corruption. And all this concern is coming from a govt (usa) that by sanctioning Afghanistan is causing crisis for the rural people (like they did in Iraq, Iran, and any country that they don't agree with. A long story. A country that has no qualms about supplying bombs to kill tens of thousands of children and women, etc, in Gaza. Nobody can go to school there, or work, nor could they in Iraq, etc. Women work in Kabul (banks, govt offices, airport, journalists, doctors) there are learning centers, and madrassas. Girls can have shops in Herat, some girls have a coffee shop, and also a restaurant. Did you see any of that Carrie? Ask your guides. Or check with my friend Somaya Monari who is a female tourist guide in Herat. She can show you women taking advantage of the new situation. I have many female Afghan friends who had to stop working and some had to leave the country as the Taliban threatened them since they were working for the former ministry or NGOs that were educating women or helping in other fields. It’s sad to see the veil that covers peoples eyes from the truth when it comes to sympathizing with women’s hardships. And you are right, we have a saying in Arabic, woman is a school. When you educate her, you educate generations. All women stand with each other regardless of race and ethnicity bcse we know what we deserve & share similar difficulties. And when we approach it from a respect towards another’s culture and practices and giving the space for people to be as they are, as you did, that’s the best way. Thank you! Taliban in reality is the best thing that happened to Afghanistan. They have taken their country into their own hands. away from the greedy and power-hungry West's clutch. They have made the country somewhat safe for women (women were getting raped/sold on the streets, public safety was in grave jeopardy, and lives were cheap). The country needs a lot of improvement and development. But they are slowly and steadily getting there on their own. The country is developing.
But right now, Modern education is hard to come by even for men.
But hopefully, they will overcome poverty, become a little bit more open-minded (It will come with development), and be able to educate both men and women separately.

The poverty may be a distraction and trials. But that is how the times of Jesus عليه السلام were like. Do not let the trials of this world hinder you. The majority of the inhabitants of Paradise are poor believers and the majority of the inhabitants of the Fire are women.
It was narrated from 'Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Awf رضي الله عنه,
That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"If a woman does her Five (Daily Prayers), Fasts her month (of Ramadan), guards her chastity and obeys her husband, it will be said to her: 'Enter whichever of the gates of Jannah (the Everlasting Gardens of Paradise) you want.'"
[Musnad Ahmad » Musnad 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf رضي الله عنه » Hadith no. 1661 » Shaykh Al-Arnout رحمه الله classed it as Hasan li-Ghayrihi (Hasan because of corroborating evidence) » And It was classed as Hasan by al-Albaani رحمه الله in Saheeh at-Targheeb no. 1932]

The western corruption will hinder many women. The people of error receive worldly stuff so that a trial can exist. The Pharaoh beguiled his people with argument that they have the worldly stuff, while Moses عليه السلام were weak and poor among them. Do not let such tests become a test. If being being is what you covet, go to the UAE and you will find how riches can corrupt Faith. In order to protect Faith, the believers usually remain poor in this life. All the Prophets were poor except for Solomon عليه السلام. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ died while he was in debt to a jewish merchant for barley that he had mortgaged his shield in order to feed his family. Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه repaid the debt. I feel sorry for uncovered western women. Those blue burkas became a trial for them, and hindered them.

I went to a cafe the other day, the owner was from Uzbekistan. He asked me where I am from and I told him Afghanistan. He asked me if I like the taliban, I told him no. He said be careful. I said why? do you like them? He asked why don't you like them? I said because they don't allow women to work,
He said 'look at the women here working, you think they are happy?'
I said 'What about a woman who has no man to provide for her?'
He replied 'No, I think there are exceptions'.
Then a customer came and he distracted himself and never continued with the conversation and seemed cold towards me after that. Seeing what those women are going through in this video is just evidence that they don't care about the well being of women, they don't care about their circumstances. They just don't care! and so, after seeing this video, I still don't like them.

It is important to understand the truth of their lives in this country. It is a tragedy how women are treated. Also I remember reading about the Buddha's and being angered about this. Hopefully they can be repaired in time.

Thank you.. they really think they are doing right by women, but they don’t appear to see the damage it’s causing (and will cause to their economy long term.. it will sharply retract unless they change course). It’s frustrating to see. I have spent the last few years learning about how women specifically help economies to rise.. and there is nothing in that country right now which supports it.

The question here is not only work ban for women in Afghanistan, it is also about not showing their face(even eyes) and not raising voice (namely no any speaking) in public places, women cannot walk outside alone too unless accompanied by male relative. Women even cannot talk loudly in their own homes, cannot sing too, cannot pray aloud even among only females. It is all thanks to Afghani law that was published/put into effort in mid August 2024, several days after this video was published... The dogs and cats have more rights that women in Afghanistan... The hell just started there...
Even female medical assistants cannot talk to male doctors when checking up patients together etc, or while helping patients in emergency rooms etc, if to follow august 2024 law that restricts Afghani women rights.
Talibans want to ban any education for girls in the future. Now girls can go to school up to 6th grade (until they are 11-12 y.o.??), but not allowed to study further than 5th grade/class. No higher education (college, university) is allowed too for girls/women from 2021 August. It means they want their girls/daughters marry at 11-12 year old?
Someday girls will be banned from school forever, so will not learn the basics, i.e. how to read and calculate etc. Soon Welcome to baby incubators..and...welcome to stone age in Afganistan!

Dear sister carrie.. let’s not pretend that patriarchy is some made up stereotype. It’s deeply rooted in nature. It’s the basic symmetry proposed by God/mother nature/ evolutionary biology.
While I do not agree with stances as extreme as the Afghan government , I won’t go for liberalism either. Look at what it has done to the department of society and family in the West? Divorce rates skyrocketing. People are ending up with pets rather than actual people. The dissatisfaction and chaos in the dating marketplace is on another level. The Institution of family is literally decapitated. The sarcastic part is women and man of western countries are now making online groups and bashing each other in podcasts 😂😂. One gender is blaming the other for the chaos that has erupted in the family and dating marketplace.
Red pill , blue pill , Andrew Tate and all that sort of clown show 🤡. All of that sums up to the most dire consequence; dangerous depopulation. I don’t see any future for the white race after the next two hundred years.
The problem is that human society does not work on individualism, which is usually assumed by the so-called progressives.
Individualism may offer you temporary and very short-lived moment of joy. But the society is not designed to function on individualism for any longer than that.
While I would agree that there are many restrictions in Afghanistan, which are unnecessary and an unIslamic. That doesn’t make the song called western version of liberalism right.
      No offence ❤

And what makes it worse, (if that is possible) is that they were getting a taste of more freedoms during the occupation...they could work outside the home, hold supervisory positions and even a place in the governing bodies. And then came the disasterous withdrawel of my country and I KNEW what was coming...and very quickly. First came the new "rules" and proclomations...most requiring new restrictions on women. I was so furious! And that poor, poor lady with no husband, how will she ever manage now? But most heartbreaking was her sweet little girl, what will she grow up to? 😢 I will be donating for sure.

I cried when Buddhas were destroyed and my heart still breaks today in 2024 seeing this. Thank you for going and meeting the local women and children, heartbreaking real life happening in 2024, in which men think it's ok to control women, It makes me so angry that these poor human beings with nothing are not even allowed to support themselves and be able to feed children, because of their gender, when will barbarian males realize without WOMEN YOU GOT NOTHING. Did you find any support within towns for these women and children. I also didn't realize it got to -32 wow

I felt the same.. and the crazy thing is that it’s just a few males at the top making these backward rules too because all the men I met (locals) were unhappy about it. I met educated men about to leave the country with their daughters to make sure they had basic rights such as education and the ability to walk in a park. It’s all to do with their ideas that men and women should never see each other, otherwise you have a world of sin, danger, damnation.. basically where we were circa 1754. Local afghans even said they knew their country was 100 years behind but that it would likely take 100 years to play catch up.. right now I wouldn’t disagree. The sad thing is seeing suffering that’s coming under the banner of ‘protection’.. it could be changed tomorrow but their mindset will not allow it.

Bamyan Buddha is part of Hazara identity but Pashtun extremists always had this mentality of wiping out Hazara population and their traditions, culture & history. Terrorist Taliban (Pashtuns) destroyed Bamyan Buddha in 2001 and carried out Hazara genocide all over Afghanistan. Hazara genocide continues in Afghanistan in all shapes and forms. 😢

@@sinocamthey were probably Buddhist thousand of years ago, so even if they don’t believe in the Buddha it would have been nice to keep this part of history

of course this action is stupid. I was just a bit interested in the history of the area and I'm in generel interested of this switch of Buddhism to Islam. Therefore my question.
