CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Charlie (Chris O'Donnell) meets Frank (Al Pacino) for the first time and is taken aback by his crude demeanor.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Driven by an extravagant, tour-de-force performance by Al Pacino, Scent of a Woman is the story of Frank Slade (Pacino), a blind, retired army colonel who hires Charlie Simms (Chris O'Donnell), a poor college student on the verge of expulsion, to take care of him over Thanksgiving weekend. At the beginning of the weekend, Frank takes Charlie to New York, where he reveals to the student that he intends to visit his family, have a few terrific meals, sleep with a beautiful woman and, finally, commit suicide. The film follows the mis-matched pair over the course of the weekend, as they learn about life through their series of adventures. Though the story is a little contrived and predictable, it pulls all the right strings, thanks to O'Donnell's sympathetic supporting role and Pacino's powerful lead performance, for which he won his first Academy Award. Scent of a Woman is based on the 1975 Italian film Profumo Di Donna.

"My step father and my mom run a convenience store."
"Oh how convenient." 😂😂😂
Bilal Khalid 🤣🤣🤣
LMAO
LOL
You’ve got me all misty-eyed.
I love how he says "HA!" The entire movie 😂😂😂
What do you love abpoutb it? Me. That he lknows so well he is being mean, that he feels superior and in control of the btalk, and it shows how his self-hating ego has total dominance of him.
@@Medietos Don't think so. It is a bitter man's way of laughing at life, including himself.
@@sonofizzy Yes, agree, different aspects.
2 years too late but i think he says hoo-rah. I thinks it's something told at the us army and he uses it euphemistically
@@stavroslapathiotis384 Hoo-rah is the marines. The army says houah and it's defined as meaning anything but no
Al Pacino: One of the greatest actors of all-time!!!
No kidding!
Agree
Yup right next to guys like De Niro and Eastwood.

Not even close 🤣

Classic.

Sincerely, every soldier ever.
Lmfao no
Just the movies it is
*pours a whole glass of whiskey*
Pretty sure Pacino had a drinking problem years before so it was probably his idea lol
YESSSSSSS!!!!!! Noticed that too.
I love how he blindly gropes for the bottle and then uses his hand to measure it out.

Al Pacino since he won his Oscar.
Well done
one of the best acting ive ever seen
Ml
L
One of the worst grammar I’ve ever seen too
He threw a little Tony Montana in there when he yells "WHERE YOU FROM!?"
😂😂😂
What difference does it make where I'm from mayne?!
I think thats just al pacino being himself lol
Isaac Aragon yeah I love that part
He reminds me of Sylvester Stallone as the Toymaker from Spy Kids 3 when he shouts like that
@@fatalis7147 lmao wtf
one of the best movies i ever watched.
"The history of My skin by Charles Sims" hahahaha lol that's gotta be the best part of this scene. This is one of my favorite all time movie
" hard workers got me all misty eyed " lol 🇺🇸😂🙏🏻😇
This movie really solidified al Pacinos legacy as an actor. Sure he's great for those over the top roles(tony Montana and the like) but he can do so much more.
That’s right, I think I like Al Pacino in roles about broken men, about tough guys with broken souls rather than cold blooded killers and the macho types, he’s just better at conveying strength and sensibility, anger and rage are like ok but the true spectacle is when he plays this type of characters, he just knows how to give them depth.

Haha good one.

hahahaha! thank you. made my day
Al Pacino is a genius at acting. Scent of a Woman one of my favorite movies
This Al's role made him reach the first and the only Oscar award
@@uchuynguyen7152 yes but he always gives an Oscar worthy performance in my opinion. I know great acting when I see it
@@diannedavis7660 I truly believe there are some people out there who dont know what good acting is supposed to look like. Its like when that Logan Paul idiot said that Oppenheimer was bad because it was all "talking". Clearly that's someone who doesn't understand acting. Most of Quintins movies have tons of dialogue, and dialogue a lone can show how great an actor is/isn't.(yes i know scorsese directed it, i am just giving and example of a director who uses conversation a lot)
@@SandorSoptei Absolutely agree
Charlie is a good boy, hard working and someone to respect.
There would need more guys like him!
@@sheruffa6032 , That's exactly what Frank came to realize as the movie progressed.
@robert. On top of that, someone parents would love to have for a son.
@@robertmasina7388, In a funny way, I think Frank comes to feel like Charlie was the son he was never able to have.
One of the best role played by an actor ever...
Cant stop laughing! :D :D - "Cant believe they're my blood. IQ of sloths and manners of banshees. He's a mechanic; she's a homemaker. He knows as much about cars as a beauty queen and she bakes cookies that taste like wing nuts. As for the tots, they're twits."

The very best actor I have ever seen
Al Pacino can play a blind person better than a blind person would
romulocassi Thats why they call it method acting he stays in this character even when he isn't acting, him de niro, day lewis ect. said to have cost them there relationship or even there marriage, very deep within the soul, very serious even in real life.
Believe me they don't want to
Hoo-Haa!
He wore something around his eyes so that he would be blind for a week.
Don't you notice that he and Jamie Foxx both won Oscars for playing Blind Folks. Jamie of course as Ray Charles in "Ray". Also Charlie didn't mention his "Father". Convenience Store owners do so much for folks.
Al Pacino is one of those actors who is a joy to watch
Too much football without a helmet? HA!

1992 was a great year and a excellent movie.
You can't take your eyes off pacino his screen presence is unrivalled for me this was a great film and Charlie was excellent too
Al Pacino one of the finest actors ever!!! 👍
Had him figured out in about five minutes. When you can't see, you learn to use your other senses....
I love how Pacino laughs it's funny
Best portrayal of a blind person I have ever seen he doesn't over do it just perfect.x. x
History of my skin by Charles Simms. 😂😂. In so many words it was a simple question that could have been answered good or bad yet Mr Simms wanted to entertain Colonel Slade with the history of his skin care 😂
Might be the greatest individual acting performance by the greatest and most expressive actor ever 🐐
Al Pacino = greatest actor of our generation
Class movie. Al Pacina is an actor in a million. The young actor who plays Charlie is amazing in this movie too.
u gotta love his voice.. greetings from germany^^

I like the scene where he in a sport car and the cop didn't know he blind. My favorite part of movie
I found this on VHS with my others on a shelf. I can't believe i've never watched it yet!
Funny how the whiskey goes up and down throughout after the first top up. 🤣
The fact that Charlie thinks that this entire interaction is a job interview really is hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
Blind Man has more humor than people with vision... !
♡Al Pacino♡
I was 6 years old, same age as my son when this movie came out 🙂
I'm glad he impressed everyone.
If you didn't know him, you'd swear he was blind for real. He is a great actor. Ol mr. Al P.

"Leave him out! He's chasin' that calico ginch from the track houses again!"
@hollymoon21
cus you have to remember that he's an old man who's lost his eye sight which has turned him into quite an unsavory and cynical character and his trip to new york with charlie is the process in which he regains some of the happiness and contentment to live that he lost when he went blind.
1:40 "Whoo-ah!" He said it once and now he said it again.
This is one movie that I probably will not watch until I saw these clips....thanks Movieclips.
