His dialogue is brilliant. Pacino’s monologues in this movie have a perfect balance between pure bathroom humour, sexual deviancy, and still an intense, emotionally profound truth. And that’s just great writing
I couldn't agree more! This scene is the intersection of great writing, great acting, and a musical soundtrack coming in at the perfect point to bring emotion to the viewer. Pure artistry.
That look he does at around 2:08 is amazing. You can he see he’s just picturing a scene with a Ferrari and a beautiful woman. A dream I’m sure he has always wished would come true.
You know too well that Pacino ain't 'f**king around' (pun intended) when he describes the human female form so strikingly precisely and beautifully at the same time in this wonderful scene.
That's exactly how I feel about a woman. A woman is so wonderful until she scorned. You are in heaven when she loves you and you are in hell when she scorned.
I don’t know if anyone will see this comment, but does anybody know of any books that are on the topic of women in a similar reference to what Pacino is describing here? The beauty, elegance of a woman etc...
This might be my favourite movie. And the way to tell what is your favourite movie doesn't have much to do with how well you think the actors acted or how good you think the script is, or how well you think the movie is directed. It's more basic than that. If it's on television will you stop what you're doing and watch it? Will you watch that regardless of whatever else may be on? By that standard, Scent of a Woman or Amadeus, or even Goodfellas (a movie I would never consciously pick as my favourite!) has to be my favourite movie. Do you ever find yourself wishing you knew the characters? That's another standard, which is incidentally why American Beauty was such a piece of crap. All of the characters in that movie were detestable.
1:41-1:50.. THE BEST PART.. i mean look at charlie.. he looked so damn cute.. the way he was smiling.. and when he was embarrassed.. :P lol.. even he did a gr8 job.. and as far as Al Pacino is concerned.. we don't need any words for him.. :)
Thanks a lot for writing that one mate, I really enjoyed reading it, thought about it at work today. Love the way old guys show women appreciation, or at least I got the impression your guy was an older guy. Great comment.
+F Lash I have a passion for ferraris, always have. I've been in love. I'm not depressed. I'm not saying I would take a car over a man I love, just that as a generalization I love most ferraris and rarely feel that kind of passion for a man. And believing in love doesn't make it happen. Finding the right person does.
+F Lash interesting concept coming from some one passive aggressively troll a lady. Seems like your the shunted emotional type that waxes dime store philosophy in a futile attempt to some how mask your deficiencies as a human being. This banter has little to do with concepts of love nor materialism as so much as a very flawed man seeking to wound a woman over his imagined slights. Don't try and explain these words lad because they like many are above you pedestrian pedigree. Now toddle off, I'm sure there are some emotionally damaged teen age girls you can try and bring to tears with your condescending blathering.
Last year when I was 19 and I finally got my first kiss it was one fine chubby girl and whenever she kissed me on the lips it was like a swallow of red wine
as a woman i feel really appreciated and loved when he said this
As a man I feel like I should take a shower
As man I want to feel Nadia.
Respect.
❤❤
You should feel disrespected 😅😅😅 Hes talking about a womens *agina and how he likes it
His dialogue is brilliant. Pacino’s monologues in this movie have a perfect balance between pure bathroom humour, sexual deviancy, and still an intense, emotionally profound truth. And that’s just great writing
So true
He wasn't sexually deviant at all, what he's saying is perefectly normal for a man
I couldn't agree more! This scene is the intersection of great writing, great acting, and a musical soundtrack coming in at the perfect point to bring emotion to the viewer. Pure artistry.
The man is a poet. He presents himself as course and almost loutish but there is a romantic and poetic side to him that's really infectious.
God is mustbe fucking genius :)
"Secret Searchlights" ftw :P hahaha
theQuestion626 Absolutely!
Poet warrior. We exist.
Well ... The writers were pretty good
This scene is not just about women. There is an underlying message. Carpe Diem. You're human and you are alive! Acknowledge it and embrace it.
Dead Poets' Society😊😊
Yes yes.. And life goes by in the blink of an eye!
Carpe Diem on the right path.
Embrace it. Protect it. Its going to make you proud one day.
Starts off kind of romantic, then gets vulgar. I can live better than that.
“I’m giving you pearls here.” That always cracks me up
That moment when the music starts as he mentions the Ferrari. Goosebumps.
Goosebumps.... That's the word I was looking for. ...Says the guy who's with them
The best scene, in the movie.
@@lman22 what song was that?
@@whtechc it's Thomas Newman. Same guy that did shawshank and a million other all time great movies. He's basically what people think hanz Zimmer is
That look by Charlie at 1:34 says it all you can tell he already knows fully well what those 2 syllables are gonna be.
I love him so much... No one comes close he's so good 😍
Man is indeed a poet.
"Im giving you Pearls"
definately was listening for sure
This is the same man who said
"SAY HEEELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEEEEEND"
And “keep your friends close but your enemies closer”
And "ATTICA ATTICA"
And “YOURE OUT OF ORDER!”
this is fiction, remember? far too many people confuse fiction with reality. Don't be one of those. Keep your feet planted in reality.
Man flows like water
There Will Never Be Another Al Pacino..

I watch this movie every year for Thanksgiving, better than any football game that I've seen in decades.
Interesting tradition.
Any other movies for other occasions?

Its true. As much as women may drive us men crazy sometimes-there is no living without them. God was a genius.
: )
......God was a genius until ............. marriage came aboard !!!!!!!!!
Not just a genius my friend, but a fucking genius my friend
He "was" not a genius. He "is" a genius!
Is she baking cupcakes?
My favourite poetic scene. Genius when it comes to the perfection description of a woman's beauty. Well, depending on an individual's interpretation.
The best actor in the world! Respect AL PACINO !
"They say the hair is everything you know"
Stickles something about that one line that has so much relevance " they say the hair is everything "

I love how Charlie remembered that and took him the Ferrari store.

This was the scene that kept me watching it till the end

2020 still watching 🥰🥰🥰 so in love 😍 passporty to heaven!!!
What makes this so funny is Charlie just sitting there politely with his baby-face.
the way he describes women oh beautiful.
Looking back it's foreshadowing the way he talks in this scene but his delivery is impeccable
God bless a man who loves women.
I admire women as much as Al does in this scene; beautiful indeed
Pacino, one of the best!
Preach.... May not be romantic. But beautiful...

+F Lash whether or not you believe you will find "true love" doesn't affect the outcome of reality. That's some fairytale bullshit and quite naive
